    I'm a shelver for the library and I had an old man tickled me on my ribs right by my boobs. His excuse? He was "just having some fun". *Women and girls are not toys* and I include girls in that because I had an older man try and *take my daughter right out of my hand and walk away* because "she was cute"... Pure shock. I'm so glad my husband was there.
    Edit: This old man comes to the library I work at every single day, and today he chose to come sit directly where I was shelving books. He's always gone directly to the computer but not today. We just opened and the library is *EMPTY* so when I noticed that I moved from the adult section to shelve in the kids section. He waited for me to come back to that spot for 10 minutes, and when I didn't he relented and moved to the computers. I'm not the only one he's creepy with, and he sits in specific spots where he can get a good look at me and my other coworker. I wish they'd just ban him.
    Edit #2: Y'all... I am getting something new said or done to me each week. I do not dress inappropriately for work, but even if I did it would not warrant anyone to say or do anything to me. I was told today by someone else that I have cute little toes like french fries and he wants to nibble them. This happened before we opened while I was waiting outside to be let in and I can't do anything about it.

I had no idea how to react! It stunned me, like I was truly dumbfounded by what was happening. My husband was not pleased, to say the least, and threatened the guy. It was all so fast and it was a pretty tame situation compared to what it could have been. There was no yelling, just the "if you touch my daughter again I'll fucking kill you" from my husband and the guy walked right out of the store. Pure shock. So much so that I didn't know what had happened right away but my husband sure as shit knew. Had he not been there I'm sure I would have reacted differently and it would have been a much bigger scene. I feel safe when I go out with him and I guess I let my guard down. Not anymore.

  • @VVsupremacy

    I understand and relate to your situation sis! Here's a REALLY LONG storytime:
    When I was 10, I had this beautiful sheen floral-print dress with below the knee length and puff sleeves. It is one of my favourite dresses to this day and back then, I used to wear it for every occasion possible. But ever since a guy, who probably was in his mid-20s, stared at me when I once wore that dress - with the kind of stare that people describe as "undressing with the eyes" - it took me months before I could wear that dress again and more months to feel as comfortable in it as before.
    It was at a fair, and I and my 4 y/o little brother were waiting in line with tickets to play on the balloon castle. This creep fxcker was the ticket collector and the stanchion controller. When I first caught him staring, I smiled at him like I did to everyone, but when I realised that his eyes never moved from me and his creepy ass face never changed even several minutes later, my smile faded away and I slowly froze. Since the line was big and only kids were allowed in the line, I had to endure that creep's stare for like 15 minutes alone (which felt like an hour). I remember looking at my parents, who were standing outside the line next to me, but not a single word came out of my mouth. They would have noticed my pale face had they not been talking to each other, but I actually wished they didn't notice, because I dreaded telling them how I felt at that time. I also remember counting the number of kids in front of me to ensure that I won't be stopped right in front of him when he has to lock the stanchion before my turn (which didn't happen, luckily). I also remember my hands shivering as I handed him my and my brother's tickets to him.
    What was worse is that he never stopped staring at me the same way, even while I played on the balloon castle. Because of that, I just pretended to have fun so that my parents' won't catch on and ask me what happened. After getting down from the castle, I dragged my brother and parents as far away from there as possible, making some excuse. STILL, this bxtch ass fxcker kept staring at me while making some hand gestures.
    Why does this incident still stick with me more than a decade later, and will probably stick with me for ever? Because that was the first time I have felt so scared and dirty at the same time. That incident also made me realise some of the intentions behind the stares of some men that I'd endured before and after that. I stopped smiling at people I pass by, ever since. It made me more conscious about my outfit choices than I already was, until a couple years ago.
    I'm sorry for everyone here who had bad experiences with some people's creepy behaviour. No matter how much the creep sympathisers try to gaslight you into accepting their behaviour as a "compliment on your beauty", your feelings and experiences are and will remain valid. Like we say here locally, if realisation doesn't hit them sooner, I hope coconuts hit their heads before 😂

There’s a lot of closeted pedos out there so far detached from self-awareness that they think it’s normal. And what further angers me is their privileged attitude as they go about objectifying girls and women. Like our purpose is only tied to their desires.. Causes many of us to disassociate and feel unsafe but no one gives a f*ck about that. We’re just supposed to “appreciate” being treated as less than human. Ignoring won't stop them either. Creeps don't need "encouragement" to harass you. In reality, there isn't much you can do bc as the victim it doesn't matter what you do, what you say or what you wear.
      If you want to ignore them, that's fine. If someone doesn't, that's also fine. Nothing makes you responsible for how other people react to you.
      Only tip I have is material arts. Every woman should learn how to defend herself and other women. Gives you much more options when dealing with the stares, too, bc you don't have to be afraid of violence if you *are* violence. 😎 I always stare down creeps bc when I look like I'm imagining giving them a quick and painless death, I am. 💁✨

    When I first started working with the company I work with (before I transferred into grooming), one of my older male coworkers literally had to tell me to hide in the back room because one of the customers who came in is known for sexualising and demeaning the female workers.
    Another job, a man was flirting with me and asking for my number while I was making his burrito. I was 16.
    Another job, a customer came in every day just to chat to me. I thought it was friendly until someone warned me about him. I was 17.
    I've been yelled at while walking from much older men in cars. I remember this starting to happen when I was THIRTEEN!!!
    I was touched, boys and men put hands up my skirt while wearing my school uniform.
    At 10, an older guy grabbed my butt while I was at the pool.
    Even worse stuff happened that I will not go into but this is why us women are fucking scared. A cat call is not a conpliment. A guy yelling sexual things at us starting from childhood is not a compliment. Telling us to smile more because we're prettier that way is not a fucking compliment.
    Calling me a good girl at work is not a compliment. It's demeaning.
    Yeah, I'm scared to be a woman. Yeah I'm scared to go outside at night. Yeah I'm scared to be alone with men I don't fully trust. And that fear is sadly justified.

    Im a straight woman and don't mean to stare but sometimes women are just extra fun to look at. I dont think its a huge problem unless someone starts talking to you or being weird. Now that I'm in my 30s, I get less stares than I used to but I didnt care then and I still dont care now. Its all in what you make of it but i think being beautiful has bigger downsides than people looking at you(like everyone assuming youre dumb, shallow or easy or when they see you as just a goal post rather than a human being). Live your life and realize that you wouldnt even know someone was looking at you unless you looked at them. It is what it is, and there are much bigger issues in the world🤷‍♀️

    • @nickeni3050
      @nickeni3050 Год назад +6

      True, we all just have to learn to live with the fact that people with eyes are going to look either for good or bad reasons... I had really big boobs at 12 so I had to deal with staring, catcalling etc and it all made me dislike my body. As I grew older I've learnt to just ignore it and live my life, in fact at this point I simply can't care anymore, they can look all they want coz it's not like they can touch me or anything so with that I have less worries, get annoyed way less and now I only have to be careful of stalkers or actually creepy people instead of just passerbys that can't mind their business

    • @nickeni3050
      @nickeni3050 Год назад +5

      Also you're totally right about women being really interesting to look at, after entering college I got initiated into the "passerby that can't mind their business" club, whenever I'm taking walks I can't help but observe the people around, of course I won't go as far as commenting but sometimes I do get my dress and hairstyle inspo from these passerbys, and there are also a bunch of beautiful people every where so I get taken aback alot and have to stare sometimes to memorize their beautiful features coz I'm an artist
