Thanks for making my question into a video, I totally asked you why you havent made a charm video yet and you answered me in twitch chat and here we are :)
I think the hunt for, and the variety of, all these charms is what makes D2 actually challenging and exciting for me to play ! Best vids as usual llama !
I'd love for large charms to have a bonus in unique character skills. It will make them usefull in specific build because of how they stack (especially skills with no / few combo like Frozen Orb)
I feel like I need to take a week off work just to watch all the Llama videos. Great stuff man, I really appreciate it! With the servers being trash on PS5 I think I've watched more of your content than I have played the game
Large charms are best for low-level purposes. For example, a +3 str or dex LC has a level requirement of just 2 which can be useful for good low-level gear with steep requirements, like Sigon's set which needs just a level 6 character, but also a str of 65 to wear in full. The +5 ones have a level requirement of just 13, also pretty useful. I'm picking them up as well.
I think it's important to look at the trade-value vs the in-game-value, because if something isn't perfect the trade-value drops harshly while the in-game value doesn't change at all. If you have a Light Skiller with 40 Life, that is worth around 80 IST runes, while a Light Skiller with 25 Life is only worth maybe 10 IST runes and a clean Light skiller is worth 1 IST. So if you find a 40L-Skiller, you can use that, or you can get 8x 25L-Skillers, which is already an insane late-game setup or if you find a 25L-Skiller you can get 8-10 clean skillers and already be at your max possible damage from charms and you just sacrificed 25 Life. Usually it is a lot more economical to give away perfect or near-perfect items and just get great items that are worth a lot less. That is true for almost every item, but especially with charms the value drops so rapidly if you are just 1 or 2 stats off of perfect, because they only have those 2 stats. A unique armor might still have 4 fixed stats and 2 variables and even with bad variables the fixed stats are good enough to keep the item valuable, even if they aren't perfect.
It's amazing that I've been playing single player hardcore and I'm lvl 89 and beat Hell, but I haven't found a single All Resistance charm yet!! She droped a total of 4 of them in just like 150 runs, no kidding (with the 3rd drop rolling a perfect charm with 157% GF, 40% MF and 14% vendor price). Maybe it's just me and it was pure luck but i found this very suspicious.
I rolled a grand charm from cows two days ago. Only 6 perfect gems to make a +1 to Cold Skills (Sorceress Only) / + 37 to life. Apparently in D2R you don't have to find the GC from Baal to roll a plus life skiller. Woot!!! I rolled it with my Blizz Sorc by the way. Imagine how pumped I was! :D Best game ever!!!
Even in the original you didn't have to get a GC from Baal to get a life skiller. But to get up to 45 life on it you do (or it can be from Diablo or Nihlathak as well). Otherwise the max life it can roll is 40 I believe.
Llama give me some tips mate. I got a bonemancer lv 50. In nightmare. What weapon should I have? I have a spirit and I can make a white with 3+ bone spear. What do you recommend?
Hey Mr Lama, what about large charm of Vita with 27 to life and all res +8? Isn't that better than 2 perfect small charms +20 life and +5 resistance? I found only 2 of these large charms in 3 years... Thanks!
dude you've been going absolutely nuts on the video uploads. I guess this is what retirement looks like. Gotta striike while the iron is hot with d2r. Can you make a video about clicking next?
This is off topic, but I have a question about upping uniques. I found 2 bloodfists, one with 10 ED and one with 20 ED. Upped them both one level and now they both have the same defense. I know that this isn't a big deal, but does ED not apply to upped items?
It depends on the base Armour roll in the first place. I saw a reddit post talking about a paladin shield being upped. Basically if the normal version can roll like 1 to 50 and you have a 49 and the next level rolls 39 to 70 you could potentially roll lower or the same.
@@dormetheus It did, he said they have the same defence now. HIs question is how is it that 1 had a higher % of ED, while still having the same def as the one with lower ED. It should register in your char screen under total defence instread of on the item itsself
I really appreciate all the replies, it definitely confused me. Is it that my bloodfist rolled a lower base defense? I'll check the char screen as well to see if there is a difference between the two. Definitely confused me for sure. I forgot to check the base defense on both before upping to see :\
I rerolled a small charm and got 175 poison damage over 6 seconds. Is that rare? It has nothing else on it. Is it the best poison damage can roll on a small charm?
@mrllamasc would it be good addition if they added turning to large charms to increase value for those, even a little bit? i think that would be a good thing without it being too powerful thing like turning the skillers.
Once upon a time I encountered a +2 skills to sorceress. It was my first ever time playing diablo, i was a necro. I sold that charm it breaks my soul thinking about it everytime I die with my sorceress
Why do you have tome of portals NOT in your cube? Plus the ID tome is not needed at all--anything with potential you stash in cube and when full you port to town. Those 4 spaces you save can be 4 small charms which is pretty huge. I usually find enough ID scrolls as I farm an area, so the ID tome is a waste of space.
Hey MrLlama, super Happy to see you doing so well and Stuff...! Long Time Fan 😘 I just hade the Idea that there is a new biggest Challenge in D2 and thought your maybe Interested someday. Beating the Game Solo, with the Sorc, Hardcore... ON A CONSOL! 😅😂
I don't even know how you people can even play with full inventory of charms. The stats are nice but the Iranians is a big pain inD ass Edit: I was speaking via voice to text and Google changed "inconvenience" to "Iranians" lmao. Nice to see what Google's goals are. I'll leave it for y'all to get a kick out of it.
It means your gear is not end game or even crap. When you see people like him with a bunch charm in the inventory of it might possibly mean their gear is almost already end game. they don’t even pick up some set items anymore. No picking up any white nor rare items unless they know its worth something
If you are playing single player, just go to nexus mods and get you the game saves with some neat charms. A few of them with +20 aura +20 teleport skill and like 400% exp and 300% better chance of magic items. Some with +7 all skills It made the game less Grindy and more enjoyable for me.
Amazing video, congrats! One question: for a frenzy barbarian (example) maximum damage or attack rating ? which one is best? how to measure which one is better?
Appreciate all the work on the videos but what's the point of all those magic find charms equipped if you dont have space to pick up the magic items you find?
I once found a 20Life / 16 Mana SC couple of years ago. 20/17 would have been worth something like 160 Ist at that time. That was still probably the most valuable single item I ever found, I think i got about 45 Ist for it.
A cool video idea would be on the most notable/biggest nerfs to equipment/skills through the patch history of Diablo 2. The videos could be split into two, one for skills and one for equipment. Or even different videos by patch (i.e. 1.06, 1.07, ect). Rolling back a D2 install to get OP gear, then transferring the character to D2R would be interesting. AFAIK pre-nerfed equipment was grandfathered in vs patched out of existence.
Bowazon skills would have to be up there. Used to be a completely dominant build, now the only reason to make it is for fun since javazon is just way better these days.
Guided arrow with pierce was nuts at one time. You could shoot arrows in a bunch of different directions and if they hit anything in the path you shot them they would home in and pierce would make them bounce back and forth on the target a few times. You could pk people from several screens away. It was broken and op. When they nerfed it it broke my heart tho
Hey, just found an sc 19life/11cold resist, almost perfect, but not sure of it's value right now :/. Anyone has an idea, should I keep it because it's gonna increase in value with time when people want to complete their character?
Im kicking myself because I throw away a lot of small charms thinking that they're worthless now seeing this vid makes me wanna double check all of them!
Great content! Can you please do a video on managing stash space? It is impossible to fit everything, of course, but at least some strategy is needed here..
If you have things you absolutely want to keep then create mules to hold it in their personal stash. I like to create mules to hold things based on a category, ie necro holding all my surplus necro gear, barb holding nothing but weapons, paladin holding shields, druid holding excess runes/gems etc etc. This is if you want to hoard stuff.
yo - love your content - have been playing a lot of d2res, or as least as much as the servers allow. I havent found runes higher than um, but ive found quite a few gg items. Im curious though regarding pames, rubies and craftpacks. Have you any idea about the current value? It might be too early to trade those for ists, at least it feels that way - what is your take on trading bulk pgems and craftpacks at this time?
What would be a good trade for arachnids belt in charms ? I only like all resist,mf and + cold skills. Sorta lost on whats worth what without the duped sojs lol.
For most of your character's existence your way is the right move. Filling your inventory is really only for absolute endgame, when you almost never need inventory space anyway because you're basically just farming for extremely specific items and only need to pick something up every now and then (and in those rare instances you can just stick it in the cube). Until you're at the point where you're like "I'm gonna run cows 1000 times searching only for high runes" then the inconvenience of having a full inventory isn't worth the marginal gains.

Is it worth keeping a +20 life small charm with nothing else on it? Or is it worth rerolling it instead? ilvl99
Llama give me some tips mate.
I got a bonemancer lv 50. In nightmare.
What weapon should I have?
I have a spirit and I can make a white with 3+ bone spear.
What do you recommend?
Love your content thanks man
Hey Mr Lama, what about large charm of Vita with 27 to life and all res +8? Isn't that better than 2 perfect small charms +20 life and +5 resistance? I found only 2 of these large charms in 3 years...
Thanks!
dude you've been going absolutely nuts on the video uploads. I guess this is what retirement looks like. Gotta striike while the iron is hot with d2r. Can you make a video about clicking next?
Two seasons ago I got a 4 all res 6 Mr small charm early in the wipe and that was nuts
Watching at 1.25 still seems slow lol.
Also, do charms like "add 1-4 lightning damage" for example, work with the summoned minions?
When you are talking about max dmg/ar for bowazon is that just for physical bowazon? Frost/fire should just go for skills gcs right?
You sir, are a content machine.
This is off topic, but I have a question about upping uniques. I found 2 bloodfists, one with 10 ED and one with 20 ED. Upped them both one level and now they both have the same defense. I know that this isn't a big deal, but does ED not apply to upped items?
ED is calculated after the regular defence on your gear. It will raise your total defense in the char screen, not the defence on the item itsself
@@badungus1333 upping an item SHOULD increase the base stats, though
Are charms like adds cold damage or lighting damage etc worth it? Or just skillers
Well you use the cube when you get an item you want to store. At this point you wouldn't be picking up any old crap. End game sorta thing.
It means your gear is not end game or even crap. When you see people like him with a bunch charm in the inventory of it might possibly mean their gear is almost already end game. they don’t even pick up some set items anymore. No picking up any white nor rare items unless they know its worth something
What do you do to pick up loot? Your inventory is overflowing...?????
I turn on llama’s videos when I go for a walk because his RUclips voice is nice.
If you are playing single player, just go to nexus mods and get you the game saves with some neat charms.
A few of them with +20 aura +20 teleport skill and like 400% exp and 300% better chance of magic items.
Some with +7 all skills
It made the game less Grindy and more enjoyable for me.
Amazing video, congrats! One question: for a frenzy barbarian (example) maximum damage or attack rating ? which one is best? how to measure which one is better?
I'm curious as to a level 60 plus life gc. Can it be transmuted to a high life skiller ?
can u roll until you get gheed's charm or reroll unique charms? you didnt talked about uniques charms
So like, maybe I missed it, but what about just +1 to skills... Nothing else? Still some decent value of they're good skills?
I miss that part too XD wanna SEE the value of +1 bow skiller + 7% run/walk
What an absolute charming video, Llama.
Haha good video and loved the end chucking away charms :))
I don't understand why skill charms really don't benefit a Bowazon . Max damage plus dex G.C.s are almost always more powerful it seems ?
Completely unrelated, but do you have a build video foe your psn Necro??
Could u do a video on inventory management if you haven't already? Didn't see one in your name when I looked it up.
I got a gc off of a minion of destruction and rerolled it in the cube to a +1 bow and crossbow with 40% gold find. Is this worth anything?
I really like your "what's up youtube". Straight upvote! (and as always thanks for the vid)
Level 90necro here, best small charm I found was a 3mf charm. I dont know how people can get inventory full of 7mf small charms
Found alot of my mf charms in lower kurast doing rune runs on my blizz sorc.
I swear to god, Llama, every time i want to explore a subject about this game, you pop a video about it !!!!!! Keep it up lol
Can skillers drop in Nightmare? for example in NM Chaos Sanctuary?
yo - love your content - have been playing a lot of d2res, or as least as much as the servers allow. I havent found runes higher than um, but ive found quite a few gg items. Im curious though regarding pames, rubies and craftpacks. Have you any idea about the current value? It might be too early to trade those for ists, at least it feels that way - what is your take on trading bulk pgems and craftpacks at this time?
Another very informative and helpful video.
I appreciate you sir.
What would be a good trade for arachnids belt in charms ? I only like all resist,mf and + cold skills. Sorta lost on whats worth what without the duped sojs lol.
As a new player, why do I see these builds with a full inventory of charms? How do you pick anything up?
You put the items in the cube
It's only at endgame and - as already pointed out - you throw anything worth picking up into the cube.
I have set myself the rule of not using more than 1-2 GCs + 1-2 SCs underneath, because screw clogging my entire inventory.
@@chriswhinery925 It's nice that such a choice exists, tbh. We don't need a charm inventory at all, we just need to learn self control ;)
Hey Llama, i found a unique jewel its a Lightning jewel -5/+4 , some guy offered me 50fg for it. Is it worth anything?
Worth alot more than 50 fg!
