I think the emerald button is for a pocket watch fob chain. The button secures the chain to your waistcoat!
I bet you're correct
You're probably correct. I was think it may be from a pair of cufflinks, but they would be some really nice cufflinks !
Yes, a watch fob chain sounds right to me! 👍😄
I just came on here to say the same! Probably designed for a wealthy woman based on size. Maybe during the riding outfit "menswear" craze? It would look great on a jacket
Hi Rusty . I’m a fairly new reseller and have learned so much from your videos. Thanks Cousin! That 1800s painting you featured in this video is beautiful but I would not try to fix the imperfections of the frame myself. The frame might be original to the painting and worth as much as the painting. Your customer may want to have an art restorer work on the frame.
100% agree with recommendation
Hi Rusty, that color changing stone is Alexandrite. If it's lab-created (synthetic), it's pretty and will sell for decent money. If it's real, it's worth a fortune!
I was thinkingalong the same line, like dicromatic glass or stone.
The cameo was so beautiful!
So glad I'm not the only one to go down the button rabbit hole.... I recently came upon some valuable buttons and am amazed at the button community lol
aaaand there was the advice I've been needing on what to do with these damn buttons!! lol!
That's an Akro Agate Jadeite Glass plate They were made for children's play sets, that's why they're smaller.
The Emerald, is likely late 1700s-1820. Beautiful Find.
The emerald button might for a cravat. Someone also mentioned the pocket watch fob for a waistcoat. I think you’re going to be reaching back a few centuries.
Rusty....congratulations on the watch fob/button...its a sweet little beauty.. !!!
I know you couldn't hear me when you asked the question "how will ole Rusty price it when he can't find any comps?" I was saying "price it high!!!!"😊 you are great to have as a cousin. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Color of gold can vary depending where the gold is found. Here in Maine, I believe the last ice age cover scraped the tops of the mountains. This is how we obtain our gold.
The pendant with gold inside is probably from Alaska. I purchased one, just like it, without as much gold inside, when I was on an Alaska cruise.
Very nice haul Rusty! What ever that button belonged on or with, it was made for someone very wealthy!
Hi again, the painting with initials has the date 1879 by the signature. There are resources on line and books in art libraries that ID signatures. It is a very nice painting. Reminds me of "The Hudson River Valley" school of artists. Easily could be very valuable.
Take care Rusty & Peaches.
Can you please share your online resources. I have a painting from a estate sale with the last name Pirox or Pirot of what looks like the Alps in Switzerland. Thank you Rusty! I so appreciate your videos! Learning so much!
I would love to see more on all those old frames. I have 75-100 that were left to me. Haven’t gone down that particular rabbit hole yet 🤷♀️
Hi Rusty & Peaches, you guys have some incredible artwork. William Edward Norton's work go for as much as $15,000. I Googled him, very talented, educated and followed. Won a few important awards during his career.
Glad u put them back in the pendant
I'd love to hear more about your antique booths, I also do ebay and vintage booths. I think they compliment each other well.
The last painting on the right reminds me of Albert Bierstadt.
Thank you so much! I learn something new every video!
3:32 I have that exact same pendant. It was an Alaska souvenir.
Great work Rusty!
Thank you for the great content, cousin!
Hey Rusty, I just stumbled upon your videos and have really enjoyed and learned from them. In one of your videos from last year "Guide to Examine, Identify and determine Value in Everyday...." I saw that you had a beautiful silver necklace. ( it is at the 10 minute mark).....I had that very same necklace a few years ago. My husband and I got it in San Antonio on a trip there. We are in Ontario, Canada. Anyway, long story short, I lost that precious necklace somewhere and have mourned it ever since! I absolutely loved it. This is a long shot but if you still happen to have it, could I buy it from you? I hope you get this message! Thanks!!
Hey Rusty. I'm new to reselling. Well I have stuff but haven't listed yet and I believe I'm overthinking lol. Heard you say you were going to a shop in NC. Not sure if that's where you do business, but when I have watched videos, I wondered where you were from (the country accent🤷) lol. I got that SC country accent going on. Thanks for all the education!
Just subscribed. Great information in this and other videos you've posted.
Fascinating video, Rusty! Like your advise on pricing hard-to-research items high! Thanks!
I am a new Ebay seller and I have learned so much from you already. Thanks dude. I happen to have an identicle necklace like the the first piece with gold nuggets. These estate jewelry finds are very interesting.
It looks like it's during the civil war possibly.
That little netted circle that lifts out of the mirror holds powder.
Your intro cracks me up, funny man. Oh, great content too!
Goldfilled is worth more than silver. 40 grams is about 1 gram of pure gold
You are close by. Hello from haywood county!
Why HELLO COUSIN!!
Thank you sir I appreciate you
Artwork is beautiful.
Would love to purchase littl mirror’d lipstick handheld piece .. would it possibly be available ?
Yes watch fob button!
That first pendant piece with the gold looks like a lot of things we saw in Alaska in the shops. They sell jewelry, little bottles, pens, etc with little pieces of gold because of the gold rush history
Hey cousin hi from Georgia 👋🤗 another great video
The Emerald piece, is late 1700’s - 1820’s fob or button BIG Congratulations 🎉
Hey are you from North Carolina I'm from Hendersonville
Why do you not get an appraisal on the emerald button to get information on the quality of the stone when reselling this type of item?
With the garnet/gold bead item, I think you could also sell that as a set of prayer beads, because of the multiples of 10. I am not 100% sure that this is what that is, but with a Roman Church's Rosary, each of those sets of 10 beads is called a "Decade," and then - assuming you have 10 gold beads - each circuit around the piece would be a "Century." so if you have 10 sets of 10 garnet beads, it's worth trying it as a prayer bead, though it's missing what would be at the bottom (where the crucifix is) to be considered a Rosary.
10.21 the stone could be Neodymium glass (also known as Alexandrite glass)l
Was that “mirror” some type of topper for a ceremonial pole that would hold a religious or fraternal artifact or painting?
Wow
How did you test the flakes?
Looks like genuine gold to me. Maine produces these.
Hey Rusty
I found a cameo similar to yours at a garage sale and paid $5 for it. It’s very beautiful, unfortunately I missed the crack in it. Do you have any idea if it can be repaired?
The mugs are known as Toby, various prices. Vase is probably Asian as the bottom is polished.
Tell us more about Peaches. Owner, too?
Where are you located
Where do you sell your gold?
That is a strange looking emerald
The purple could be Alexandrite..
She is beautiful
Will we ever meet "Peaches?"
yes. he will be back soon!
Did you all say “buttons?” I have a can full of old beautiful buttons that was my mothers and I am talking old
Gold is not always yellow, it can .be white.
I think opening that and taking the gold flake out was a mistake. Changes the originality of it. Now it's just mediocre.
Rusty, I was wondering what you want for the gold tone bracelet with the color change glass? Tell me how to contact you in email or text
It looks just like the civil war buttons I saw my friend collected. Maybe you can look it up for age that way.sorry I meant revolutionary war
You should be building and setting up your warehouse as a museum that people pay to go through and for schools and to educate the children and still continue to sell your items.thats how all the biggest museums operate now and you have the way it appears to do it.
Civil War uniform buttons look like that.
I meant the revolutionary war.
