We drove over 10 hours to make this video series possible! Kevin, owner, and designer of Kaku Kayaks took time off his busy schedule to film a series of videos with me. It was a Saturday, we left the house at 4 am and got back at 1 am, Sunday.
I spent the following week working on this first video, I took the kayaks out on the water day after day after I finished with my day job, to make sure I tested the boats and to gather cutaway footage for the series, I don't think I ever worked more on one video than this one. I told you, sitting on the back of the seat with your feet to the left and right of the seat is the most comfortable position. Actually it's like half standing but you're sitting.

Hey Alex first your videos are great!! Thank you. I have the Zulu for 2 years now. Want to motorize it. I see the transom mount you used. So the Newport is 24 pounds. Did it flex the transom?? Because I would like to get a Suzuki 2.5hp. It is 29lbs.
It is not so much the weight but the torque of the gas, Kevin has an Outboard mount that would go on 3 of the power pole inserts. I didn't see it on the site. I can see the 2.5 causing some hull issues if it is only held by those 4 inserts
Can you put the nk motor on a paddleboard kayak like the pelicsn getaway or hobie lynx?
The get away you can remove the rudder plate, add some marine starboard and slap the nk300 there

Not sure how I got unsubscribed but I'm back. The Zulu is sweet. How do you think a trolling motor work on the back of the Zulu? I could still have my pedal drive, if the motor stopped working . Well, I guess I still have my paddle. Having a trolling motor is pretty fun. Awesome videos 🤙
I'm gonna do a regular trolling motor series soon, you can get a light trolling motor with a small amped Outdoors 30ah with and it would be the perfect backup for like under $500
