Tim has blown at least 23 subwoofers with just his voice. His lowest note is one that most men can't reach. Adam has taught all of them some beatboxing. Tim was a substitute teacher, Rob was a bartender, Austin was doing theater shows on a cruise ship. I'm not sure about Chance except he was in another group. Adam is one of the founders of the group with his brother who went out on his own
If you want to hear Tim’s really low voice, check out Misty Mountains with Peter Hollens featuring Tim Foust. Tim has a 5 octave range. For his high range vocals, check out Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay.
@@LQOTW if you do check out misty mountain watch the picture when Tim hit the last note in the song. It 100% acappella just two people doing it all Peter Hollands is the master od layering.
In my opinion HF has 2 of the best voices in the industry- on opposite ends of the spectrum. Austin and his Tenor, Tim and his Bass! Hard to find any better!
Avi Kaplan (the bearded guy with the beanie) was a guest performer in this video. He used to be with Pentatonix. You saw him in the 'Hallelujah' video.
This song is done in a country reggae beat. It showcases the higher & lower ranges of both Tim Foust & Avi Kaplan. That last note of Tim is impressive with how low he goes, but more impressive is how long he sustains the note. On the "Sing Off Show" that Home Free won in 2013 Tim goes even lower on this song "Ring Of Fire" & he impressed the judges so much that they gave them a standing ovation. And Adam Rupp once again was stellar in his vocal percussion. The song you saw at the end was written by Tim Foust & is called "Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget". It really shows their funny side.
@@carrieblair1115 Nope It was Tim watch Avi putting on the cowboy hat and then watch the full end and look at Tims right hand he almost always does that when he goes low and if not watch them sing it on the Sing Off
Andy Rupp is the beatbboxer and he is a world champion beatboxer. I love how Avi from Pentatonix took his beanie off and put a cowboy hat on in respect for Tim's low note. Avi is amazing and both Tim and Avi have incredible range. I know this is my reaction to your viewing a year ago, but hope you keep watching Home Free and check out Pentatonix. Both groups won their season of The Sing Off.
I was waiting for your reaction when Tim hits that final low note and you did not disappoint 😊 I've watched experienced vocal coaches react to Home Free and at the end they're just like the rest of us, sitting there saying 'How do they do that???' I guess a lot of talent and 20 years of practice eventually pays off. Really hope you'll react to one of Adam Rupps drum solos, that will blow you away.
I first saw them on Sing Off, and I have seen them three or four times, which says a lot since I hate being in crowds and they always have a crowd. Greg, you may still be able to find the performance videos from Sing Off on RUclips. Check them out if you haven't yet!
I'm so glad you discovered Home Free! Please react to Avi Kaplan's Change On the Rise. He has a solo career now after leaving Pentatonix and is absolutely amazing! I really think you will dig his music.
Greg, Home Free has soul also. Check out When a man loves a woman. As mentioned also check out Adam Rupp's drum solo. He is known as the human drum kit. Love your reactions man, keep at it.
The confidence to have bass from you most direct competition. Props to Tim and Avi for giving their fans exactly what they want to see. Sing the same song.
This is a great collab between HF and Avi. You may remember seeing Avi in your PTX reactions. He was the bass until he left the group in 2017 due to personal reasons and to get going with his solo career, which is amazing btw.
These guys are the most popular accapella group I've ever heard!! Austin Brown, the lead singer, can hit every note known! His gift is amazing!!! These guys have loads of songs!! You'll enjoy everything they do!! Try reacting to Austin singing "Unchained Melody"!!! Tim's bass voice is astronomical also!! Adam's talent with all of the beat-boxing sounds are beyond anything I've ever seen!! All of these guys are full of talent!! As a retired professional singer, I will praise these guys always!!!
Everyone will say to check out Adam Rupp's beat box solos and they would be right, but if you want to be truly blown away, watch 9 to 5 live beat box breakdown. It's a fan cam so not great quality, but the talent of all of them LIVE!!! And when Avi went low, I was "just wait, we're not done yet!". Lol! Great reaction!

You need to watch Adam Rupp (from Home Free) drum solo…he is unreal with his mouth doing the drums and also beatboxing!! When Tim Foust hit that low note it sent chills all over…geez. Amazing arrangement! Great reaction! I love Home Free😊
Great song...really love your stuff and now subbed! (Btw...the best answer to your question, "how can they do this?" is ...their vocal cords are genetically constructed as nearly perfectly as we can imagine.
Home Free won a show called The Sing Off in 2014, and a group named Pentatonix won it the year before, 2013. Pentatonix was the gateway for other acapella groups like Home Free to move into more mainstream music pathways. Home Free is and always will be one of my favourite acapella groups, but I love Pentatonix just as much, if for nothing other than paving the ay for groups like Home Free to do their thing. Not sure if you have done any Pentatonix reactions yet, but if not, please do check out their stuff, especially such gems as their Daft Punk medley, their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody, their gorgeous version of Amazing Grace and the Prayer, and some of their more fun ones like Sing!, 90's Dance Medley and many more. Love the channel, keep doing what you do 💕
More than three years ago this was the first video I saw/heard from Home Free. I got there because I was listening to Pentatonix at the time and Avi was my favorite. Immediately there was something that drew me to Home Free. From then on I followed them and after I think 3 videos I was a real Home Fry. I hardly follow PTX anymore. Avi still does, because Avi Kaplan and Home Free let me feel music and not just hear it. Their great harmonies, the unbelievably good beatboxing/vocal percussion and of course that incredible deep bass that makes the ground vibrate and your speakers explode.
My husband is a trained opera singer. But he said he learned by mimicking sounds he heard outside. Ambulances, beeps, he can do all of them it is what trained his voice from an early age.
That was great dude! Your reactions were perfect. It's not every day you get to see 2 of the best basses in acapella bring it. Enjoy the journey. HF is amazing.
Two fantastic bass singers in one song - that's just great. And Adam's vocal percussion is top notch. Only the live version at Sing Off 2013 is better, where Tim goes even deeper. The song at the end is Champagne Taste (On a Beer Budget), also a top song - but I haven't heard a bad song from the Home Free guys yet. Great reaction!
New sub here. I’ve really enjoyed your reactions to these acapella groups. It’s pure talent, pure sound. I recommend “I Swear” for humor and “When a Man Loves a Woman” for a jaw drop. You’re just touching the tip of the iceberg. Enjoy!!
Your reaction to this is absolutely priceless! Love how you appreciate what they did in this video, it's been one of my favorites for years, and showcases 2 amazing bass singers, as well as the phenomenal beat boxer :)
Great Song, BUT You know what the greatest part of the reaction? YOUR SMILE! Love it! Don't forget to listen to the Adam Rupp BeatBox 'drum solo'! Greetings from Cyndy in Louisiana, USA!
Avi Kaplan (the guy in the hat) is from Pentatonics. He now has an amazing solo career. Worth checking out. All the really low tones were Avi in this song.
Greg, you are too much! I’m sitting here wiping my eyes from listening and watching you do your thing on your show! Thanks for the good time tonight! When Tim went so low on ring of fire, I thought you were going to fall off your chair! Very entertaining show…thank you!
I really enjoyed watching your reaction to Avi and the instruments. I can listen to Home Free all day. I had the pleasure of seeing them live and they are amazing!
On this one Home Free had a guest singer...Avi Kaplan in the beanie...another phenomenal bass singer like long-haired Tim Foust of Home Free. The thing about both of them is...neither of them just sings bass...they've both got RANGE capability also, as you can HEAR several times in this song. ;)
Hey Greg! Love your reactions man. Here's one that you gotta listen to Home Free: Drum Solo [SPM ST15]. This is one of Adam's best. I know you will be impressed. Have a good one!

The music they make is a joy to listen to. And their videos... silly or serious... are such an amazing feat of music, singing, filming and editing! You go guys!
I love how excited you get watching Home Free! I've been watching them for 4 years & STILL get excited & can watch their videos hundreds of times! The next song was a Home Free original "Champaign Taste on a Beer Budget". It's funny & an old one before 2016 when Chris Rupp (co founder with his beat boxer brother, Adam Rupp) was still with them. He left for a solo career & other endeavors & was replaced with Adam Chance (just called "Chance" since they already had another Adam)!😊
Greg, they practice over and over until they get the original sound they want to achieve and do it over and over until they actually get the sound effects and the voice and breath control they desire as a unit. Remember it is not all about one or the other....they sing as a unit at all times....that's why they sound so wonderful to you and me and thousands of fans.

The bass singer in the skull cap is Avi Kaplan who started with the Pentatonicx before he left for a solo and colab career. He was the bass you commented on in Hallelujah. Home Free is outstanding!
I am a new sub. I truly enjoy see younger people appreciate acapella music . The song you asked about is call champagne taste on a beer budget, written by Tim Foust the bass singer.
Congratulations. You are now a Home Fry. Anything from these guys is worth the listen. One of my favorites is My Church. But seriously, anything they do is good. Austin and Tim have done some solo stuff and duets as well as with other larger groups. Welcome to the rabbit hole of Home Free.
