I work in the demolition industry and have used oxy/acetylene, oxy/propane, and oxy/petrol torches. If you're looking for a very clean cut (such as in the case of manufacture and fabrication), then oxy/acetylene is your go-to. If you need to make rough and really thick cuts, then petrogen is your tool. But if you're just doing rough cuts on a demo job that needs to scrap the metal (i.e. structural steel and its components), then oxy/propane is the way to go.
In most cases the demo job will be in the millions of dollars, so nobody is going to really care about a few hundred bucks saved on the fuel. All we care about is getting the steel cut up an into a 30-yarder and shipped off to the scrapyard.
If you're a small company that is pinching pennies between a bottle of propane and a can of gasoline, then I can understand. But if you're top 5 in the ENR, chances are that you have hundreds of propane bottles at a far cheaper price that a gas station can offer you gasoline/petrol at the same volume.

LP has storage advantages over petrol and is also dirt cheap. Ethanol gas turns to shit when contaminated by humidity. Petrogen like their high markup so while that works for them it's a niche item that's going to STAY a niche item. Much heavy demo is done with lances which outreach any conventional torch so there's that to consider. I'll stay with acetylene and LP for convenience, ability to use any of my torches with a tip change (or with an LP regulator for high volume as needed).

Here in Mexico, a gallon of gasoline is worth ~4 American dollars.
I give oxypetrol my two thumbs up.

Thanks for the effective video. Let me know if I can use about 1 minute from this video to educate people on how their safety doors may be compromised. Thanks once again.

Well I can't argue with the results, however the price leaves a lot to be desired. How are you gonna save money when the tooling is so expensive!?

Looks like a pretty clean cut to me. An oxy-acetylene torch can't do what I saw here. It is very impressive.

Right on but when precision cutting is needed in my shop we use other methods anyways ( Bandsaw, Brobo, Laser) We have a saying: measure with a micrometer cut it with a chainsaw. Unless your talking about a computer controlled profile cutter this petrogen is probably as good as any (I'm Guessing.) I really want to try it myself.

Johnny Table: Anyhow it is only the oxygen which propagates the cut, the fuel is just there to preheat and help maintain the flame..
So the cleanness of the cut is purely down to the flow rate, pressure and orifice diameter of oxygen at the head. Discounting varying operator skill levels of course.
In the shop a cutting or grinding tool is usually readily accessible and more "precise".

Annoying music. Plus, everybody knows that it's the oxygen that does the cutting... Propane does it cheap and easy too.

This stupid video is 7 years old now and this form of hot work has gained very little popularity in the USA since it's conception - obviously there must be something inherently wrong here compared too the many other methods available with todays technology - the ideology behind it is about as technically advanced as holding a book of matches in front of a can of hair spray bfd !
Go look at what companies like Petrogen in Colorado are asking for a bare bones set - the prices are two to five times higher then more popular forms of equipment used to get the job done - everything they sell is manufactured by mystery poop from the park companies with no mention of reputable manufacture - Just one torch alone is $665.00 and no it's not a Victor - It's a no name brand meaning their not saying but from the looks of it I smell China ! and it looks more like an HF torch then a Vic - If you got a cheap death wish you came to the right place but it's going to cost you an arm and a leg to get to it

If you're using oxy-fuel cutting torches regularly, this will save you money in the long run. If you're a hobbyist, you probably shouldn't buy this, but if you own a business or use a cutting torch on a regular basis, you will end up with more money in your pocket. Acetylene is fucking expensive. Gasoline and diesel not so much.

Terrible video production and music choice but it did certainly cut though steel!
