- Hey guys, I was looking over some of my older photos and videos on the computer and I found these old gems. These clips were from some work I did back in 2017. These clips have been reposted so many times its unbelievable. wish I had a Nickle for each time I've seen it replayed. either way, I hope you enjoy this short video. Kick back for a few minutes and let me know what you think. As always, Thank you in advance for your support.
Like a hot knife through butter! Your torch skills are phenomenal!!!! Your travel speed and distance from tip to work piece are like a machine. After watching you cut like this, I put up my screens so no one sees my cuts!😉
Thank you, ISAAC!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I know what you mean, it takes a lot of skill and practice to do that freehand, especially in some of those akward positions where you cannot get comfortable.
The cutting torch is commonly referred to as a "gas axe". In Isaac's hands it becomes a "gas scalpel". Simply amazing!
Could not agree more!! Genius
@@michaelminers2612 yea that second cut I dont even think you could cut that thin with a saw i mean yea it decarbs and slags the surface but that was an even unburned out thin cut off. as good or better then some machines, especially when you have someone that dont use the machine as often and gets an ugly cut. and if there is a better worker with a torch I have yet to see them in my feed, and thats a thick chunk of metal got to keep it steady or it will not get an even cut very easy to go too fast
Well said! He’s not only a craftsman, but an artist as well.
Flaming hack saw around here...lol. Some people have a gift for it. I know a guy who can acetylene torch cut better than I can plasma cut with a drag tip and a guide.
Isaac is a fricking surgeon with a torch. no deviation in distance from the piece. no deviation in speed while cutting. I've yet to find anyone better using a torch than him. Mad props to you Sir Isaac.....
100% true!
Could probably do cataract surgery on ya
Well said!
Yes indeed, I love watching his torch work.
He takes his time to get in a position that suits him…doesn’t rush things just to show off
Your torchmanship always astounds us all
A true artisan/craftsman. Almost makes powersaws and workshop machinery obsolete. Amazing skills.
Astonishing skills with a torch. That first cut, where the entry and exit cuts are straight and exactly in the same plane is amazing. Most people would struggle to get the entry cut straight - but to create an almost perfectly flat surface that long AND that wide is just next level. Amazing. Thanks for the videos. Stay safe out there.
Absolute artistry, I've definitely done my share of welding and then some, I've always loved the cutting torch and have an appreciation of the skill you just showed perfect setup and control, well done
Over and over I see jobs and think 'bandsaw' or 'grinder' and you do lovely cuts with a torch. That's a skill.
Your freehand cuts are truly amazing. I have been watching your videos for a long time. I am still amazed by those cuts.
His freehand cutting is about the best on RUclips.
I am 61 years old and learned torch cutting when I was a young teenager. I even learn to weld with a torch before I ever used any type of electric welding machine. Not much impresses me these days but your skills with a torch are out-of-this-world.
You torch cut like a laser.
Simply Amazing!!!
Same with me. I learned welding with gas torch before ARC welding. Did all of the cutting with gas as a metal fabricator building off-shore rigs.
Learned my freshman year of high school, sure wish still had those 15 yr old eyes. Bifocals makes things tough, those cheap reading glasses help but it's not the same.
Torch Norris at it again
Got that right!!
Heavy metal surgery! You never disappoint! Thanks for this amazing video.
When I was younger about 1981 I worked as a burner in a tank fabrication shop. I learned a lot on using a torch. Extreme torch skills. You are a true craftsman.
Isaac, this Vid is WHY you have 126K Subs. We watched a master in action, and what a sight!
Everything you do looks so incedible easy.
I love watching your torch handling. It's amazing.
If there is anyone harder on a Leatherman than you @icwelds I'd love to know 😂
You always make the difficult look easy, a true craftsman, great skill!
And because he makes it look so easy you know how difficult it is and how bloody good he is.
that hand cut is amazing, cool stuff from the past.
Never gets old, does it!
Incredible work Isaac. So impressive watching you.
You absolutely have the steady hand, my cuts looks like they got chewed apart by a rat!
Clean the tip and more preheat. you can do it.
Wow you should have a video on just torch cutting and technique. You make it look easy but I know that's because of skill. Your torch work is always incredible.
I agree a video on just his torch skill and adjustment and settings would be great to know
“That which we persist in doing becomes easier to do not because the nature of the task changes but our ability to preform it increases” Heber J Grant.
Ok. Just when I thought I was pretty good with a torch, this cat comes along and slices 4 inches with no preheating and results that are pretty much ready to fit and weld. I'll just be over here on the side...holding my wife's purse.
I failed to mention I did preheat the material but not enough. the cuts were a bit serrated at first.
Well done 👍 not many tradesmen can freehand on heavy plate with that much skill
Issac did you preheat with a rosebud to 350 °F always a steady hand 👌 with the gas ax...😸🔥💎🎯💪
yes, preheated it but not enough. thus the 3 cut passes. I left room for that before I made the first cut.
STEADY HANDS and torch control is amazing !
Serious talent and YEARS of experience !
another awesome video Issac, back in the mid 80's i worked for CML Northern Blower here in Canada ,we built exhaust/fresh air units up to the capacity 1 million cubic feet of air a minute and for the pedestal base of the unit we used armour plate usually 2- 3" thick and all torch cut, using a guide, i could do a bit of the 2" thick and i sure learned how to be patient, to plan and take my time cutting, couldn't afford to make mistakes, i could never cut freehand like you do, that is an art all in its own, that steel looked smoother than a Sunday roast beef dinner when you were done 👍
Those back ripper buckets are killer. I worked on one for a company digging a slurry trench for environmental remediation years ago. They will rip some hard ground. Nice looking welds as always Isaac.
A very nice job for sure, however if you score the line where you want to cut with a cut off disc, about one sixteenth of an inch the flame will want to follow the score. If you cut to the scrap side of the line you will have a nice smooth straight edge left on the good side, be able to cut with less pre-heat flame producing a nicer cut. This tip is more for your viewers who want to improve your game as there is absolutely nothing wrong with your technique.
Love the skills !
U must have laser eyes an some high octane torch gas the best I've seen
Beautiful work as always !!!
Do you do this for a job Isaac? 😉
I can see why they've been reposted so much, the torch work is fantastic..most people can't get a cut that clean on 1/2" plate never mind what is that 3" and again with the peeling cut ...
That third clean up pass was like watching molten lava behind glass...I've never seen anything else like it
That’s what I call steady hands. 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Not your first day with the gas axe, GREAT bit of work.
Sir if you ever get tired of the field you would be an amazing instructor at a school
My wife says the same.😊😊😊
@@ICWeld she’s a smart lady
I love my plasma cutter, but I can never get 3”,4” or thicker plate cut with anything but a good old oxy/ acetylene torch in the field
I want to nominate Isaac's Leatherman for best supporting actor!
That little thing makes an appearance in almost every video, and just keeps on going. 😉
If it matters, I think it's a Gerber Multiplier, not a Leatherman. I carry one and it's very handy, as well as pretty tough.
@@AlanHardacre Yeah, I suppose I should have said "multi tool"
Speaks volumes for Gerber quality.
I remember having a Gerber folding knife for EDC back in the '70's
yup Gerber
You are the best of them, man
Isaac what I just witnessed you do cut through I think that's 3in plate and you cut through it like butter I'm not a professional welder but I've done some welding and torching the skill level of which you're doing is amazing I don't know what else to say man amazing you have so much talent God bless you be safe
Well I feel like human garbage now lol. I'm a mechanic not a welder but I literally just spent all day butchering a peice of 1/2inch plate to get two peices 4"x11"..... it was not pretty it was not quick....and then I see you cut 3" plate...not once but FIVE TIMES in less than fifteen minutes.... I'm going to go throw my torch in a river now.
I'm so impressed with your torch work and welding. The straight lines cut freehand are quite a feat! Enjoy watching and learning.
Impressive the way you slice through that steel. Are you using acetylene or LPG?
acy
Isaac, aka “The Surgeon”. 👍🏴
I can't even cut my Texas Roadhouse steak that clean!!! HOUSTON we have a problem!!!!😂😂
I feel sorry for the guys starting out who watch Isaac weild that torch … I’ve been doing this 30 years and I know I can’t do what he does.
Lov This Channel ..learn so much!! Tight,Tidy... done right!!Cheers!!;-)!!
Surgical skills with that torch. Great video
WOW! amazing... but someone PLEASE buy that man a chipping hammer! HA!
You da MAN, Isaac.
Watching you get positioned sometimes, makes me "giggle". Position, Position, Position!!!!
How's the family?
I am not a welder. My question is why did Issac make one large cut and then a much much smaller slice. Thanks. As always Issac 🙌🏼👍🏼
I noticed that my 2nd cut was not square to the plate so I made a 3rd and final cut. The 2nd was good but crooked.
Simply Amazing!
You're an artist... with amazing skills... I'm jealous.
That's bad like really bad. Degrading strength of metal this way
🎉🎉🎉😊7018 - 1/8 or what kind of wire you ...used ...?
Isaac, I showed this vid to my CNC plasma rig, it wept!!!
Legendary as always bud!
That is a Great amount of skill and You Know he is Just so Humble About it. Thank you, sir, for always Showing others Great Methods and skillset.
You could brand your channel by putting your channel name on your gloves so it shows up on screen, that sort of thing. It's why Jimmy Diresta stencils his name on everything
I can't cut that straight with a plasma and a straightedge. Probably not even with a plasma table.
You my man are as the Jedi are with a light saber you are a Jedi with the torch May the force be with you master. Your skills with the torch revival master Yoda skills with a light saber
Sir, you are the Torch 🔥 King & you are your own boss. Much Respect ✊️, added bonus you tinker w/ rides.
Ic weld was wondering what your settings are for oxy and ACL ? Around line pressure
7/70 No.2 tip
I think I’m pretty good with a torch… Until I watch Isaac the Torch Master!
Who needs a mill when you can torch like that?
Hi Isaac, I envy your steady hand with the torch, especially in some of those akward positions and the thickness of the plate. I hope you are teaching your son those skills too.
A waster cut, good to make two or more cuts when the opportunity presents itself. The first or more cuts, the waster, to check the pressures, get a feel for the thickness, and preheat the metal for the final cut. Looks good.👍
Metal so thin you can almost see through it. What technique!!!!!!
What tip are you running 3 or 4 it is cutting razor smooth and you have a very smooth and consistent stroke you’ve drained a few bottles in your day I’ve only seen one other guy that good with a torch and he was 86 been running one for 60 years every day died with one in his hand he taught me so much when I was a kid but I’m not that good yet I cheat with hose clamps and guides every chance I get
This is good set up for hoe on trench I heard about this in alberta but watch on video just choking are bucket dig on this and pick up rock and dirt.thanks expose the repair and after result.
Good luck good job sir thanks for share your video very nice 👍
I can't imagine what regulator pressures you must be running to cut that gauge! Or perhaps you skip the regulators altogether? 😂😂😂😂
Ha, Straight outta the bottle!!!😄😄😄
Isaac the human CNC Machine! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
First 👍's up IC WELD thank you for sharing
Victor ought to come out with the IC Weld Super Pro Torch model line.
He da man wth da CUT&he can well,it,up as will.. a'ho
That's some nice work. Where was the internet when I was learning?
Leatherman tool has a rough life on your jobs...
Yet again I'm learning from watching this youtube channel. I do honestly prefer the normal form of content you produce (longform and partially narrated), but i hope this more accessible style makes you some money so you can make me some content! Also I'd just like to say that I work with my old man, and I love seeing you work with your son on the channel. If he ever wants to go it his own and start doing something (anything) he's got a guaranteed subscriber in me.
ASMR from 0:54 to 2:26, very nice cut man, takes a skilled hand to keep the torch that steady for that long, and just the right amount of oxy blowing it through.
It's amazing how you can stay focused during such a long cut. My mind would wonder off and I'd be constantly reminding myself to stay with the procedure!
Good evening, to repair these parts, do you use 7018 welding or do you use another type of welding for greater resistance to wear suffered by the work carried out by these machines?
7018's most times but this was Fabshield 21-B fluxcore wire.
@@ICWeld And the gas pressures as soon as you handle them to cut those thick pieces?
wish i could cut metal that’s good with a torch. i cant even cut thin piecs with a torch that clean
This is machining with a torch. Ridiculous skills
Thank you for sharing Issac. Man that takes skill And practice. I am always impressed by your work😊You torch peeled that heavy steel like It was a Banana.
Thought this was “Cooking with Ry” at first.
CNC'S take notes from this MAN!!!
When Isaac's cutting the track torch stops and watches hoping to pick up some pointers. Absolutely amazing skills! Just wondering what multitool do you use? That thing sure does take a beating.
Gerber tool.
When I was a young man, I worked as a draftsman at a steel supplier drawing full scale patterns for torch cutting machine that could follow my drawing with an "electric eye" and cut out as many as 6-8 parts at a time. This was before CNC, laser cutters and water jets. Had to add an extra 1/8" all around for the kerf and for final machining. They could cut up to 10-12" thick steel plate if I remember correctly. I was always impressed with the fact that you could cut metal that thick with a torch. Some of my drawings were quite large as they were to be made into large paper making machinery.
I remember those machines. Super impressive.
Wow Isaac is gas doctor I love it 👍🏼💯💯
With those steady hands he should have been a heart/brain surgeon!!!
I'm sure his pay is up there with most surgeon's, and he hasn't lost a patient yet.
Man alive, watching the nozzle of the gas torch, it's like it is machine mounted, there is almost zero deviation from the track. Very impressive as always. Not bad at all.
Ye it's me again. Just checkin your work. See if it was still workin.~~~~!!!!!!
Isaac, I'm subscribed with the "personalized" bell symbol. I had the "all" bell before that and I've never gotten a notice when you added a new vid. HOW COME?
not sure. YT has been weird lately. the last few months have changed, not sure whats going on.
I was just talking to a machanic buddy of mine yesterday, telling him how great you are with a cutting torch! Professional inspire to get to your level!
Cool hand Luke just awesome Issac you got the touch with the Torch. Take care of yourself and family and be Blessed ❤️❤️👍.
it's like watching a CNC machine cut I'm 56 and been welding and cutting since I was 8 i'm not even close to your skill level Love this channel
maybe you should have found another line of work, I see nothing special here and if you havent picked up any skill in all that time, give it up.
@@thebob3712 lets see a video of you cutting free hand with a torch. Classic arm chair quarterback
@@brianguest561 I've been a boilermaker/welder for 40 yeras, I dont have to prove fuck all to a no body, I know what I can do and so do the people who pay me. You wouldn't last a week working with me, bye bye.
That's got to be one of the strangest buckets I've ever seen.... beautiful repair though!
The third clean up pass was that with your eyes closed!?😆
Dailed in perfect.. pure skill
Great job and nice music
