Ep.68: The legendary rocker, Miljenko Matijevic, now lives in Korea! He made his debut as the lead vocalist of the American rock band Steelheart in 1990. He's famous for his song "She's Gone" which Korean men are all aware of. He starred in a famous music show in Korea in February and caught the attention of many people! He began performing in Korea since 1996 but now he plans to actually live in Korea. Why, where and how will the legendary rocker live in Korea? Let's find out his secret!

I read the comments before I watched and I don't see the arrogance that some viewers are seeing. What I see is a middle aged guy who's confident in his own skin, comfortable in his surroundings, and happy where he is in life even after what he's been dealt with. He could've been bitter and a miserable person (accident, derailed career and lost of loved ones all in a span of one year), but he's not. So, kudos for him for doing what he enjoys which is singing. The viewers who complain should look into themselves and ask what are missing or going on in their lives that watching this guy irritates them and why so judgmental?
peko peko agreed! I think part of the reason koreans thinking like this is because it's cultural clash in what they considered to be prideful versus confidence added with cultural expectation of what is!

I keep reading all these rude comments about him. I think he is a great guy and just because he seems arrogant (because he is confident) that doesn't mean it's okay to bash him. I enjoyed this episode and it high lighted that there different kind of foreigners living in South Korea. And I don't get why people say he doesn't adapt to South Korea? He basically eats like a Korean and is very open minded. You cannot change his personality but he sure is open to all the culture they have. Give the guy a chance!
People are jealous. He's learning Korean, living in Korea, and singing songs in Korean. They're mad that he's not a shy-for-no-reason, unconfident Asian guy who is constantly afraid of what netizens will think. He's done nothing disrespectful and he doesn't seem arrogant at all, just a normal confident rockstar.
I agree, I read the comments before to watch the video, and I still dont understand people reactions, he's never arrogant at all.. when you're an arrogant person you disrepect people, and he has never been disrecpetful on the video.. he always stay positive, he's confident and sometimes funny.. maybe his 80's rocker style, and his sunglasses are kind of ridiculous sometimes, but he's a nice guy we can feel it.. so again, I dont understand people's reactions... Anyway, maybe they're jealous of his success...

God... when Mili talks about his terrible stage accident and the loss of his mama I would really love to hug him. He has been through hell and got over it with a willpower that is inspiring for everyone!
This guy seems nice, idk why everybody in the comments is hating. More foreigners should be like him, open to everything and not complaining all the time. He seems genuinely grateful for everything in his life.

i dont see why anyone would call him arrogant in anyway. he cherishes every moment, embraces korean culture and tries to understand korean culture before complaining. he even jumps off the stage to embrace his fans and sing FOR them. he is confident in being who he is and there is nothing wrong with that. arrogance is when there is no sense of superiority and there is 0 of that. i love it when he states that being alive is a gift :)
and he also sang entire song in korean unlike few foreginers on this program who have not learned korean because they r busy or english is more convenient for them
Must add for all the haters this guy didn't come off arrogant he's just a carefree, confidant man living his life regardless of what others think. I think if he were to talk about those down moments in the entertainment business we probably be more sympathetic. For the haters hope he's a great success in Korea.

I met him once when i used to dj in nashville and he was a really cool guy!!! So, that's how i'm gonna remember him. loved his music then and loving his music now.
What rudeness? What arrogance? I see nothing but a man interested life, happy to be where he is, discovering new things... Korea should feel so lucky that he chose her to start out again after the accident and after losing his mother and brother within 9 months. He chose well, because Koreans love music and they love to sing and they really appreciate others who love music also.
She's gone was one of my fav songs when I was growing up in Korea! That song is like a legend and yes all Korean guys used to sing that song in karaoke to impress their girls 😂😂 He is still good and wow I hope to run into himlike the lady in a restaurant when I come back to Korea!!! I would def take a pic with this awesome guy! 😀😀

I see a sadness in him. A loss of something. Hes still beautiful, still has his great voice, charisma. But a little spark is gone even behind his humour. Im so glad for him that Korean people loved him and accepted so much. Im also glad he is back in our native land, Croatia. Maybe Miljenko, your spark will reignite when you find yourself in Zagreb maybe or the mountains there, maybe even the sea. ❤

He's been through alot crap, he was performing back years ago on stage and the whole light system came crashing down on him and his head and he almost died. there was a video on youtube awhile back showing part of the accident and it might still be on there, but he is a very Cool Cat and always had respect for him. the song "ill never let you go" is where he hit the big time! check out the accoustic version of "Good 2 b Alive". where he is on top of a mountain singing that song, it makes me think that i'm glad to be alive also!
He seems like a very down to Earth guy with a great attitude that should be very welcomed in Korea, or anywhere else he goes. It was a bit annoying that the video ended prematurely.

Love this show and the regular members. Awesome episode, was waiting for this rocker to appear on some show. To my surprise he's on the show.Just about everybody familiar with the song just not Korean men. It's a classic rock ballad and the high notes are just unbelievable.

He is the legend.. Miljenko Steelheart . U’ll know how awesome he is until u check steelheart videos and songs in 1990-92 . The band is reallyyy great . Due to accident his career has been fall apart. Rip the original drummer John Fowler and Rip Kenny . The guitarist in this Video.

I actually heard of Milijenko and Steelheart because of variety shows. Also one time Shinee members sang his song and it was on Immortal songs too. I also think he done some work in ost or kpop songs but not hundred percent sure. He sure is a chill guy. He's an old fashioned celeb I think celeb of today would talk crap about Korea like Adam Levine did.

How can I put into words exactly like I felt when I saw Mili through this Beautiful journey a part of his life well he deserves happiness, love and understanding if he was here I'd hug him. I wasn't brought up to be prejudice I wish the world could be as one and always feel like Mili does like I do. All I want for Mili is to be happy no matter where he is. I was a bit nervous seeing comments and truthfully I saw a clip of him on another show where he did seem really arrogant. I've seen a lot of american celebrities talk down about korea and act really ignorant, but in general he seemed to have appreciation for the culture and respect for the people. maybe there are things we didn't see on camera, but for now I'm glad he's making a good impression on them

He's got a great energy and it really is good to see him getting so well in Korea.. but at the same time I kinda feel sad for him... he used to have millions and millions of fans and now he kinda look like he came to Korea cuz of some of his leftover fans (I know I may be just speculating this) .. I may be wrong, but it would really be a tough life for him living in Korea, and I'd hate to see him suffering from that.. I genuinely hope his new albums work out better in Korea...
He actually came to korea because they love him there and for years he couldnt record his music in the United States because of a dispute over his contract i believe, so he's actually been recording almost all his music over seas!

Did a quick search on him on wikipedia - "He has grown a big popularity in South Korea, and He has worked on several South Korean TV series.[1] He has also released several soundtracks for South Korean TV series.[2]" Noticed he has also sang for a few dramas OSTS as well as trying out for Masked King ep 48. Oh my god, I wonder... how the ep for Masked King turned out. I think he is just using 'My Neighbour, Charles' for publicity to his music career.

+Arcee yes he is. Millennials may not know him as well, but he is still a prominent foreign singer in their country. She's gone was in a movie. The reason why he's on this show is not because he needs to promote, but because he enjoys the country and its culture and is thankful for all of his fans here and wants to convey his thanks somehow.

I just started watching this show and I went way back to ep.1 I liked the way it was. Why did they change it? Is Fabian and Sayuri always going to be there? It gets kind of boring with the same people are they like other MCs or just everyday guest. I liked how before there was only one MC and the forgeries got to talk to other foreigners and give each other advice now it like just watching the foreigners life and that’s it. I think they lost the concept of the show as they continued.

I've never heard of this guy or his band before. I was a little annoyed that they didn't really explain who he was, and just kept repeating that he was a world famous rock star. But I guess it's cool that even if he couldn't find success in America, he was able to gain fans in Asia.
It's not needed to explain who he is for the Korean audience. He is also famous in other countries but you must not have heard of him if you belong to the "younger generation". I had not heard of him till 4 years ago as I'm 20 and only found out through a different Korean show. And Since it's a Korean show they didn't seem to bother explaining who he is. On American shows they wouldn't bother explaining who Elvis is either. You can compare it with that.

I'm 26. I am familiar with a lot of older American rock bands. This band just isn't famous in America. But I can understand if he's so famous in Korea that they didn't need to explain who he is. But it was surprising for me because even for idols who are currently popular, variety shows usually still give a brief intro of who they are.
Steelheart released their self-titled debut album in 1990. The second single "I'll Never Let You Go " reached No. 14 on the Billboard charts, and was MTV's 2nd most requested video. The album reached No. 40 on the Billboard charts.No famous ? I don't think so.
+TheRealityofFake about the idols, yes they introduce themselves because they are new to the industry (less than 10 years) and are mostly famous among younger people. Some bands are an exception of course, but with bigger names such as Cho YoungPil they don't need any introduction as everyone knows who he is and he is pretty much a legend I believe. If not then he is insanely popular and well known.

Yeah, I also read their wiki page too to find out who they are.There's barely any info on that page, and what's there doesn't have any citations. Just ask anyone you know if they know Steelheart, and they'd probably say no. They definitely don't seem to be on the level of Def Leppard, Motley Crue, or other such bands famous in the late 80s early 90s.

So he's Croatian-American...but I've never heard of him and I know about most Croatian actors and singers who made it big in the USA ( like Goran Višnjić and Krist Novoselic). Never heard of his band either and I do listen to rock. But he has the old-rocker aura which comes off as arrogant. He might be a very nice person, but I get that people don't like him because of this.

He wasn't chased, he fell in love with South Korea. He's one of the few foreign artists that has just recently taking the Korean market.

Yeah the sound quality and audio on this ep are terrible. I have to turn my volume up excessively high to hear half of it and then it changes out of nowhere. There have been a lot of issues with uploading this show lately, I wonder what's up.
