Musician with Cerebral Palsy Uses Phone to Communicate

- Born in Belgium with Cerebral Palsy, Brent’s family were worried about his future. Taking a risk, the family decided to move to New Zealand. The “she’ll be right” attitude appealed, and at 6 years old Brent blended in with the other kids of his age. Living with Cerebral Palsy which affects his ability to talk, Brent - now 25 - uses his phone to communicate. As a keen musician and songwriter Brent also wants to share his music with the world, and has commissioned a friend to be his singing voice.

Your badass, Brent! I’ve got CP and I sing, mostly dark stuff and folky metal. I’m no where near as motivated as you though. I’m in my late 40s now and wish I’d pushed myself harder at your age. Since my life isn’t the same now (more pain and such.. long story)
Anyway, keep on working and amazing everyone. You’re brilliant

This song really hit home, it transports so much! 2 1/2 years ago my life changed completely. From 16 years being a nurse and physically very active and fit I landed in the wheelchair after an emergency back surgery injured my spinal cord. Everything changed for me - from a nurse I became like my own patient. To find a way to express what is inside is so very important! And sometimes Humanity can be very separating between „able bodied“ people and disabled people.And they can also be unkind. You have an awesome attitude and such a loving and supportive family. Please continue to go strong with your music to touch the world‘s hearts!

Haha hey you only live once so when I do some activities, I am scared too but then I think backing down is just boring :p so I just always wanna make the most of it, gotta take risks to live to the fullest :p

when do you release your album
Haven’t quite made an album yet, i just release my songs are singles At the moment, but once I have done quite a lot of songs, I’ll probably think of albums, but At the moment the songs don’t really have specific release dates, since me and my friends can be pretty busy sometimes so the next song releases when it releases haha, but On my Facebook page cap insanity, I usually post when a new song is about to release with a story on it :)
