- I have a bunch of metal work to do. This is just a couple hours from Saturday night and Sunday. I'll continue next weekend because I work on customer cars during the week.
Nothing like using original GM sheet metal for the repairs, nice work Rob!!
I sure admire your knowledge and passion
Looking good!
Hello from WI I just found your channel, im a big fan of the tri fives even tho I've never owned one im working on a nova myself and im hoping i can learn some of your metal skills so I subscribed
Loved it ,can’t Waite till next weekend , love watchin ya work esp on the super budget 55
I like the way your repairing the quarter. I was thinking that car was originally Harvest gold. Neptune green is a pretty color on 55s, I believe 56 it was darker and called sherwood green. Later Man
Wish I knew what you know thirty years ago! This is going to be a great series! Thank you for all the detail!
I enjoy watching you! I’m in the process of building my first 55 4 door! I’ve learned a lot! Keep up the good work!
Definitely a good Start Sounds like you have a good plan Can’t wait for the next video
You got it going your way. Good job
Exciting
😎👍😎
This project is going to be so cool.
Are you still thinking about lowering the roof hight to the same as a Bel Air?
I like your idea and think that would look rad!!
I might. Haven't decided yet
Full quarters ARE expensive. My ‘55 project has horrible lower front quarter patches on both sides (some hack tried to use pieces cut from completely different kind of car). I’m looking for donor OEM pieces to fix that but no luck yet. I might have to buy new quarters just to get that piece (BOTH sides).
John, they sell the front lower patches unless the hacker got it above the trim line
Unfortunately, not for Nomads. Full quarters only.
@@johnkelly6942 Oh, a Nomad. I love Nomads. Maybe buy two rear four door sedan rear doors for the skins only. Also buy the wheel well openings sections if you need that wheel lip section.
Ilike,fouredoor,cars
Sport Sedans had the best roofline. James Bond drove one.
Look forward to following along with this build plenty of tricks I'll be able to pick up when you tackle that quarter. I have to do the same on the 55 HT I'm working on but I bought a new panel, you're right very pricey. I was watching an old post of yours as I am working on my frame right now and was wondering any chance you'd give out the angle you used for the frame stiffener from the frame to the driveline channel and the space inside to inside on the driveline channel itself and did you require those two tapered areas on the channel for the body brace? That frame really was a work of art especially with all that extra metal you added that shows in the engine bay.
I don't remember the measurements. I do know I went too wide on the rails for the driveshaft. The edges of the rear floor pans were touching. So I had to cut and angle plate them.
@@haffrods7055 Ok Thanks
I was just wondering if the plan changed. I thought you were going to make a four door Like one you remember.
The one I remember was a two door that my brother had.
If you shoot the por15 please show
How will deal with all the rust inside that panel you cut off.
I talked about it in the video Ray
So is the wife still getting a 4 door or the new 2 door?
Her car is a 4 door because of practicality.
Sure you don’t have a spare steering column bracket you could sell me?
I may have an extra one in my shed. It would be a major dig to find it though.
@@haffrods7055 don’t want you to unload you shed for that. Thanks anyways
@@allanbihari7385 I think I remember one laying in a seat at Perky's salvage. Next time I go, I'll grab it. You are needing one for a 55 or 56? 57 is different.

Do u have quarter trim for the 4dr
I have a set from my wife's car but haven't decided if I'm doing Belair or 210 quarter and door mouldings yet.
When are you going to start on your wifes car?
When Steve's car is finished and gone.
