If I wanted to build an antenna (a fan dipole, or possibly a fan-"dublet" with 450ohm feeder similar to a G5RV???) for my IC-7300 that covered _ALL_ of the bands from 160m down to 6m, how many legs would I need to do? (Do any of the bands double up on any of the fan legs?) I have an attic space that is ~48' long at the ridgeline that is ~28-30' in the air. For the longer legs, can I wrap them back around (with spacing) and/or possibly use chokes? If I wrap them back around, how many times can I do that? (effectively ending up with multiple"Zs" in each of the longer legs" If I use the 450ohm ladder line, how long can it be or should it be before I switch it over to co-ax? Finally, I can't seem to find consistent data on whether the internal ATU on the IC-7300 can actually tune this type of antenna, how do I determine (specifically) what my SWR is on this antenna (and know that it is below the 7300's 3:1 SWR limit?) EDIT: Apologies, the RUclips autoplay advanced me to your next video from the one I had been watching that _had_ been relevant to my question.
What if you already have an FRN number and a call sign, but you want to request a vanity call sign for your ham radio club? I am told that I need to request a separate FRN. Can I use the same email to request one, and how is this process different for a club request?
I don’t understand why the fcc won’t issue me an FRN, I jumped through the hoops, dotted my i’s and crossed my t’s and will not issue me a number. I’m not a felon, I’m a honorable discharged vet, I studied and was prepared to take the technicians test , then find out they won’t issue me a number and they won’t tell me why. 😮
why would you crave a license then?? you a vet? operate illegally with freedom as a American. when shit hits the fan, and it will. there will be no license requirement. so take this time to understand the craft. learn and listen. and transmit what you want as long as you are not being a nuisance on the air. the fcc will not go after you. unless you start a illegal radio station or interrupt emergency coms
I registered, got my email confirmation email, but can't find my FRN. Tried searching 'By Registered Individual' but don't know what it wants as 'Doing Business As???
At 6:13 FALSE! Does not ask for your address. It asks for a country code, phone number and a test question and answer. at 6:40 FALSE! Clicking "continue" instructs you to VALIDATE your email by clicking on a link sent to you by the FCC. THAT then will bring you to the choice "Go to CORES" I had to do a few stupid photo CAPCHAS(choose all buses, etc) @ 7:24 FALSE! I was already automatically logged in at this point.
I will tell you that as of February 2024 when you go to that website none of it is how it is displayed in this video the easy access thing I could not find I tried to look in the search bar and they made it extremely difficult there they being the government
My Call Sign on the FCC database says I already have a FRN. I have no idea how that was created, maybe from when the ARRL renewed my license years ago. But when I try to reset my password it says something I entered is incorrect. As such I am totally locked out and I don't where to go next. Any suggestions? Thanks in advanced.

I live in Airstrip One. I have a UK licence. If and whenever the RSGB start to have conventions again I expect they will offer US Licence exams there - as they have previously done. So I'm 'non domestic' for the FCC. Do I need a FRN (expecting yes) to take the exam? How do I get one? No, I don't have a US SSN! As much of a history buff as I am I've never heard of the UK referred to as Airstrip One (I had to look it up, now I know where the term comes from.) I'm curious as to why a "Brit" living in the UK would need (or want) an American license to operate in the UK. While I can't claim to know the answer to your question for sure, I'd be willing to bet my entire fortune that it's impossible to take the U.S. licensing exam without an FRN. See, I've dealt with governments before, too. This isn't me being a pessimist, but someone who understands bureaucracy. Cheers.

I didn't realize I already had an FRN number when I got my technician license. I just created a new one not realizing I already had one.
