Like the gentleman before me, I am sitting here under the AC watching your video while working on a .32 southern poor boy. As a historian/shooter/hunter I have always considered the true advantage of the rifle being not really an advantage in range, but the ability to precisely place shots between the trees.
Watching this while standing at my workbench building an American longrifle! Good video Professor!

@@TurkeyCreek-ek8mj Yes, sir, I can’t wait to see it!
Excellent basic primer on the long rifle. I hope you don’t get complaints about showing that modern sporting rifle.
Thank you. I am sure there will be some who missed the point I was trying to make.

@@leonstancliff7218 Accuracy and precision are what counts! Sounds like a good squirrel rifle.
Very well done!
@@MichiganSilverBack Thank you.
btw the whole series on Indian trade guns is excellent
@@toastyroastyman8911 Thank you!
Very good video. I like flintlock rifles from 32cal. to 75 caliber.
Me too!
just a silly thought but curious. If you put the same get up on that gun the rifleman used in his series, could you shot the same way with it?
@@toastyroastyman8911 I am not sure what you mean?
Humm, I thought simi automatic actions were invented before the turn of the last century. I sure it is over a hundred years old.
@@kenbyers8036 I was referring specifically to the AR-style action that I was using. Thank you for watching.
