    Good information, thank you. Now if I may be able to return the favor; the next time you want to use a hole saw on thin plastic, operate the hole saw in the reverse direction, once the pilot bit breaks through. You'll get the round hole you want.

    Great setup. I've got power run to my coop now so I may do something similar.

    You might want to provide a parts list, along with a link that is a step by step.

    How did you connect the black 10 mm flex hose to the white pvc pipe? I have a 1 in PVC feeding pipe and 10mm hose but I am not sure how to connect them.

      @yasirrizvi5335 I don't know what it's called, but I used one of those ribbed connectors the hose slides onto, and a hose clamp to keep it extra secure if needed

    Question, instead of nipples or cups on the PVC, could I cut the pvc as a trough like Justin Rhodes everflow system? I like your complete setup the best out of any I have seen, however I want to do the trough part and didn’t know if it would work on your system or if I would have to make some modifications?

      @TheNaamanChannel had to look up and find the video you were referring to, interesting concept! Our system is gravity fed, so if it were left open into a container or trough it would overflow it and empty the barrell. It might work if the water supply were dug into the ground to simulate their pond being lower down to use siphon energy. Barrel would still empty pretty fast. Maybe circle the drain hose back into the source?

    Can I connect the circulation pump on the end? On the return side?

    • @TheKunkelHomestead

      @@yasirrizvi5335 wouldn't see why not, as long as the pump is on the low end of the system and not on top of it

    When the pump is not turned on, can water still flow past the pump via gravity or will the pump stop the flow of water when it is turned off?

      Excellent question. In our setup, water does gravity flow when the pump is off! That helps us get away with only running the pump when it's cold and it auto turns off when it's warm enough.

    what temp do you set your heater to?

    • @TheKunkelHomestead

      Since our only goal is to prevent freezing, we put the heater on its lowest setting, ours is 68 I think

    How cold does it get where you are during the winter?

    • @TheKunkelHomestead
      @TheKunkelHomestead  Год назад

      This last winter we had a week of 20 below windchill. The system could not keep up with that, we had to disconnect it to prevent damage. It's not usually that cold, teens to 0 is our usual bottom
