You say New York, New York is dangerous
'Cause you read that where you may
Even a blind man could see that's not so
Love, love, love, love, love
Rah
People on streets
Ha ha haa ey
Mm ba ba de
Um bum ba de
Um bu bu bum da de
Why don't we give all that one more chance?
Pressure pressure pressure pressure pressure
Pressure pressure pressure pressure pressure
Pushing down on me
Pressing down on you
No man asked for
Under pressure that brings a building down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets
Um ba ba be
Um ba ba be
De day da
Ee day da, that's ok
It's the terror of knowing
What the world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming 'Let me out'
Pray tomorrow, gets me higher
Pressure on people, people on streets
Day day de day day de
Day day de day day de
Day day de day day de
Day day de day day de
Day day de day day de
Ok
Chipping around, kick my brains around the floor
These are the days it never rains but it pours
Ee do ba be
Ee da ba ba ba
Um bo bo
Be lap
People on streets (Ee da de da de)
People on streets (Ee da de da de da de da)
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming 'Let me out'
Tomorrow gets me higher, higher, high
Pressure on people, people on streets
Turned away from it all like a blind man
Sat on a fence but it don't work
Keep coming up with love but it's so slashed and torn
Why, why, why?
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love
Insanity laughs, under pressure we're breaking
Can't we give ourselves one more chance?
Why can't we give love that one more chance?
Why can't we give love, give love, give love, give love
Give love, give love, give love, give love, give love?
'Cause love's such an old fashioned word
And love dares you to care for
The people on the (People on streets) edge of the night
And loves (People on streets) dares you to change our way of
Caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is our last dance
This is ourselves
Under pressure

Batman: a reminder that one bad day isn't the end of the world.
Flaws aside, Bruce saying that to Gordon at the end of DKR gave me goosebumps
I feel like spider man has that affect as well
@@DrewJrNBAMobileand gosh knows how awful his life is !
Joker has entered the chat.
That's the thing that people tend to forget or ignore about superheroes, while yes they do beat up criminals and send them to jail they also try to HELP PEOPLE and better their lives. even the criminals who have a chance at redemption.
only if they want to be redeemed
This is exactly why I hate when writers and trolls on Twitter try to make the argument that Batman doesn't try to use his fortune to help improve Gotham and just beats up poor people. If you don't read Batman, then you shouldn't talk about Batman because there are multiple examples of Batman using his resources to try to help Gotham.
@@TheHeadNinjainComicsHell they bring this up in another episode of BTAS.
Cringe💀
@@DwarfDaddy in Old Wounds, he actually hires one of the Joker’s henchmen after his falling out with Dick. So yes. Bruce will use his fortune as Bruce z Wayne whenever he can. Not to mention all the charities he runs.
I love that the DCAU Batman is always willing to give people even criminals a second chance at a new life. I wish more superhero media did stuff like this.
Oddly enough, he would get to a point where he legit became completely distrusting. It's funny throughout BTAS, Batman usually lamented losing Harvey Dent as a friend whenever he had to cross hairs with Two Face...... Then in "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker", old-man Bruce is tosses a batarang that beheads a dummy of Two-Face, and his reaction is: "Still got it." LOL.
Watching batman as a kid and as an adult are two different experiences
Well said
Great timing, just watched this episode
Hits like a truck
Glad I watched this as a kid. I really think it helped shaped me today.
This man oddly enough wants me to read a poem. Something I'd never do but it's good enough that I may actually do it.
Man...I'm a little under a minute in, and DAMN.
Never cease these retrospectives/opinion pieces.
They really are brilliant.
These two episodes always felt special to me. They showed a lot about what Gotham city really is and delt with how our past impacts who we become. They also showed how Batman is someone who will always help others, no matter the circumstances.
You know "it's never too late" aswell as episodes like "calander girl"/the batman issue with the mannequin it's based on made me realize something too many batman stories are missing, real, actual gothic storytelling. Too many people think batman needs to be dark but equate "dark as = gory, edgy, and only ever serial killers" when it should be dark in the way of gothic literature (the city is called GOTHAM for a reason). batman isn't an antihero he is a hero that uses a gothic lens for storytelling, and These episodes showcase the tragic stories/parables and scenarios that can be told if actually starting thinking Dark stories doesn't mean being edgy.
The city is called Gotham because Bill Finger flipped through a phone book until he got a name for the fictional city. "Gotham Jewelers" was the business he chose. It wasn't some hidden reference for gothic story telling or whatever you're trying to say lol.
Gotham only translates or is derived from Anglo-Saxon “goat town”, and that is to say, simple minded or foolish. It unfortunately seems to have no connotation to *gothic*
I had “It’s Never Too Late” on VHS as a child, and it’s one of my favourite episodes of BTAS.
"It's Never Too Late" is my favorite episode of the Animated Series. I had on a dvd collection that had Two-Face pt 1 & 2, and "I've got Batman in my base". I enjoy all of those episodes, but Never to Late hits hard no that I'm older.
This is why BTAS Batman is the best Batman. He takes time to help the little guy, both in and out of the cowl.
The ability to bring the great and hidden ideas of meaning of what happens throughout all the wonderful stories and the peacefulness you bring to making this videos. Life changing. I started with the Superman unbound and lex Luther video. The only thing I can say, thank you for bringing meaning to the nostalgic and wonderful world of storytelling.
honestly, your statement on gotham city at the beginning is something i've felt for a long time, WAY too many writers just make it a [LOCATION} or go overboard and make gotham a place with serial killer on ever damn corner. (that story line where jim gordon's son is also a serial killer was basically the point I went "ok now this is just ridiculous"). it makes it to the point you ask why the hell is anyone actually living in gotham, you can say "well they don't have any other choice" ou're telling me living their is in any way better/safer than being homeless in central city? TAS did the smart choice and have most of the crime problem be more organized crime based, with mafia, gangs and things that are present but can be hidden (even characters like joker act more like mob bosses than just mindless killing entities) so you buy more the idea that families and people could live here without feeling ridiculous.
Precisely why I hate the ancient vkrtex of evil or whatever explanation for Gotham
@@kR-qj7rwWait, what?!
@@applesandgrapesfordinner4626 it's some bs where Gotham is destined to be bad and evil and no amount of crime solving, Wayne enterprises donating money for the poor and investing in education or less corrupt for the good of the people government can change
It's absolutely bullshit and it's just an excuse to have it be perpetually a bad place ans I hate it lmao
I think luthor would force homeless people out and into gotham. He seems the type of guy honestly.
Very strongly agreed. The only way I usually rationalize excessive edginess (I’ll just call it that for now), is by thinking of how LARGE and socioeconomically DIVERSE the city is. I can better buy that there are a huge amount of crazy ass and especially evil ass evil villains out there, if proportionally, they simply are just a tiny tiny fraction of the populous
Yoda" we are what they grow beyond"
This is Great of a story that we never knew!!!
Of all the Batman episodes, this was the one that hit me hard in the feels
Thanks for all your great stuff
Not sure if I should be embarrassed that I need a smart person like Trauma-man to explain these deeper themes through the cartoons of my youth so I can understand them, too. OR if I should be impressed that Implicitly Pretentious is able to extract such lessons from said cartoons.
Both...both is good, lol.
God helps us all whenever he finally starts breaking down popular animes to continue the work.
Thanks for sharing your insights Leo. Cheers!
PS: I recognize that mystery song in the description from one of the Musical episodes of The Magicians, but it likely deserves more respect than that. :D
I'm so glad you keep making these! I listen to them when I workout!
In the comics zer in are has taken over Batman body and i think that Batman has to stop think ing Bruce Wayne died that day he has to think that Bruce Wayne did not died that day Batman has to undig Wayne body and he is alive
Love your videos man keep up the good work
And even if I say,
It’ll be alright
Just wanted to say I love your videos, thanks a lot ❤
I literally just watched this episode for the first time it’s right after the two face episodes
There's a batch of early episodes from BTAS that are similar in which the stories are on par with live-action tv dramas

I think the misspelling was purposeful for authenticity of local news.

I can't see through my tears
Yeah I can relate to that
Yeah this episode and "Joker's Favour" are highly underrated
It's starting to rain

I’m surprised you don’t have a video on The New Frontier movie

Why couldn’t he rehabilitate the Moroni family?
0:53 was this episode or part of this episode animated in Japan? Cause that scene feels almost like anime.
🤔
I like you. You get it
00:23-00:28 How is Rupert Thorne the young one?
Rupet Thorne is only 22. He is actually the last non-barrister to still be wearing a powdered wig! 🤓
When i was little i watched this show, but couldn't really comprehend what i was watching sometimes.
I always think about bits and pieces that i remembered, and that i liked it.
I recently watched all the episodes of BTAS again, and i honestly think i remember like 80% of it all.
But this show still holds up, very well. It sometimes is much darker than I remember It being though.
Yo guys, I am cool because, I am apparently commenting on a video that uploaded a couple seconds ago. kewl.
