While I understand the fear of MK8D Definitive Edition, I believe Nintendo ported MK8 to the Switch because they didn't make a profit on MK8 compared to how much work was put in. Relatively few people had MK8 compared to MK8D, so I don't think Nintendo can get away with releasing this game for a third time.
