2 major drawback here ... only 3 band eq why also why there are no inserts on subgroups ...btw I still want it badly lol don’t need it but it looks sick.
I did an album with a band where we went to a cabin instead of my commercial studio, cut all the basics up there and dare I say the model series I used for drums, bass, and gtr sounds a little clearer than my studio's comverters. These are completely capable of achieving pro results in the right hands!
I have the Model 24. I am a Drummer , and I use it as my dedicated mixer for my kit. I also use it as a multitrack recorder for the drums to use the audio for my ATEM multicam making multicam videos with the model 24 as the audio. All works flawlessly. Of course seeing this 2400 I jumped up to look but calmed down realizing the Model 24 is still perfect for my needs !
I should be receiving my Model 2400 today. Going to sell my Model 24.
The modern 4 track cassette tape recorder!!!
Admit it Noisegate! The first thing you wanted to do was to put your hands on that bus processor!
I can't wait to try it out
There were aspects of the model12 that weren’t in the model24
I’m assuming this model2400 does everything the model12 does now? That looks pretty powerful
The model 12 is digital after pre-amp. model 16, 24, 2400 are analogue apart from fx, rec, usb. but the 2400 also has a digital stage on the Main bus (for comp and eq).
One quick question please.. I understood the compressor and eq on the master bus are digital.. I also understood that the compressor and eq on the channel strips are analog. Did I get it right? Thanks in advance.
If only my rme ufxIi+ had this type of interface. Does work with an iPad and midi though
It has Bluetooth. Of course it uses midi time code
tascam can you please move onto to 32bit float recording?
I like that I can "print" my mix with the Model 24 by sending my tracks to the board and recording channel 23/24 on the DAW which would be the mix. Are you able to record the Mix with the onboard (or outboard processing with the master send and return) compression to the DAW? I been wanting to try out some outboard gear but the Model 24 seems a little limited in that respect (without being creative). If the 2400 can print the on board master compression or send/return then this is something I will definitely look at
It seems that it is possible indeed with the Model 2400
Does the Model 2400 has Over Dubbing & also Punch In/Punch Out ability in the multitrack recording mode? If it does, does the Punch In/Punch Out sounds smooth with no clicks or popping noise (like my present QSC Touchmix 30 Pro, where the Punch In & Punch Out point emits a loud popping noise!). Another question, is it possible to record the multi track recordings & then play it back for mixing, direct into/from a Solid State drive instead of the SD Card?
Why not add an OLED display? I like this mixer but these screens are not the best on an angle
I wish Tascam would make this in a 32 or 48 channel version like the DM4800. It would save us about $400K from buying a Rupert Neve 5088!
Maybe this can be ganged with another 2400?
@@danjacobson9881 That's an excellent thought. If you could sync two of these together, you could then connect them to two IZ Radar machines and have 48 tracks without using a DAW.
Does this have DAW control like the Model 12? I'll have to ditch my Model 24 which is presenting CODEC/Error power issues (one year mark of ownership!).
No, just simple HUI/MKI transport control
22 ins to DAW? Individual tracks? Or stereo mix?
Model 12 just did stereo to DAW. Individual tracks were to SD card.
Model 12 has 10+2 channels to USB audio. But you cab also change in the menu to send just Main bus as stereo USB audio.
@@RecordingStudio9 interested to read that. Thanks. I found the manual page referring to this. Cheers
Can u use it like a Zoom L8 With Zoom and StreamYard for podcast and webinars?
Are these out yet?
I wish they made a rack version
Hello, I have a question. Here's an example related to my question: I would like to send 4 separate channel signals (1-4) from my DAW to 4 different channels (1-4) on the mixer via USB. Is it possible to send these same channels back to the DAW to 4 new audio channels in a way that includes printing the EQ and faders? Thank you!
it is
I’ve been looking at the Zoom L20 for last couple months. in your opinion, which do you think is better Zoom or tascam?
I just upgrade from my Zoom mixer. Although it was feature pack for its price, my tascam sounds way better. I don’t miss my zoom at all, other than it was better for making cuts and edits.
Is it USB class-compliant?
No Meter app released yet
Does it have a gate?
Any Midi on this one like the Model 12?
Yes, MIDI for transport control and in/out via USB
@@RecordingStudio9 Tha'ts not MIDI. He's talking about MIDI sync, on the back, so you can sync up instruments.
@@suspiciouswatermelon7639 Yes, just like M12, you can send MIDI clock/spp via 5-pin DIN connector. You can read the manual.
Release the 32 channel version please....!
How much is it?
Yes, could you give an indication or a price range in comparison to the other #Tascam models…? And maybe I’ve missed the expected release date…?
$2000
Depends on the country you are purchasing in! I would check with your local retailer :)
@@Noisegate I wasn’t asking if it were already in store… also #SoundInSound states ‘yet to be confirmed’ on both pricing and availability. So if you don’t know it or are not allowed to share this kind of information, then that’s fine with me 👍🏻
No 4 band EQ?!!!!😢….
mmmm just 16 mic preamp... Tascam Model 24 but another "facelift".
Here's something I want to know about the ultimate multitrack recording console... maybe you can answer it.... WHERE THE HELL can you actually buy one?
No MIDI sync.... so this is basically useless for electronic music production.
It does support MIDI Clock/SPP output via 5-pin DIN
Can record gate/trigger/sync to a track and then send that out to other gear for overdubbing… I use this technique with multitrack tape … I find it really creative and midi has its own limitations.
@@australianaliens5942 The MIDI is simply a USB-to-MIDI converter. No MIDI data is recorded or played from the mixer itself.
@@australianaliens5942 Were talking about MIDI here, not your goofy modular crap.
overpriced.
