I wonder if the one that helped us defeat The Harbinger was Offensive Bias? Remember The Weapon said something was helping her and it wasn't her that opened the time travel portal. Either it was Offensive, maybe Mendicant or maybe by sheer chance it's Cortana still alive.
I think Cortana is actually dead. I think the weapon really did delete her. As far as the cutscene goes, it's after the Halo array was fired which killed everything in the galaxy but the Endless. So to contain them (for some reason), Grand Edict deployed Offensive Bias once more. I think it's Offensive Bias's job to keep the Endless imprisoned and it was him to helped the weapon try and prevent that.
@@unhandydaddy5117 i think it's a bit of both Cortana is "dead" but her coding and programming (basically her skills and powers) are still there as data fragments and i do think the weapon will eventually get all of her big sister/mother's abilities because the campaign did establish that the Weapon is no where near as powerful or as capable as Cortana.
This was such a badass reveal. That simple pan up made me physically gasp. And the narration makes it even more chilling. Everything about this scene is masterfully done, probably my favorite cutscene.

I had a feeling Atriox was alive when it was implied he died off screen. I figured there was no way they’d kill off Atriox in such a cheap way. Maybe The Banished thought he died bc it seems like he’s traveled back in time. So to the banished, he was completely gone. Dead. Pretty cool concept. A threat even greater than the flood, that has time traveling abilities, who are immune to the effects of the Halo rings.
He didn't go back in time. The scene takes place right after the final fight with Harbinger, she stalled Master Chief in that fight while transmitting Atriox the code to unlock the endless' cylixes, which is the key device we see him use. The voice-over is simply a conversation that took place a long time ago layered over the scene of Atriox releasing the endless in the present day.
@@El-Mengu Buddy Chief gets sent 3 days into the future after that fight and the pilot has just been chilling out waiting. If the endless had been realeased right after his fight with the harbinger they would have been active on Zeta Halo for 3 entire days before the final scene with Cheif so I doubt the pilot would be so chilled out. He would be freaking out because Zeta would have done something and a new threat would have been active. No Atriox is 100% in the past which is why the scene starts with a fucking timestamp.

But it does not work for going back in time, so Chief and the Weapon "going into the future" isn't the same as Atriox supposedly going to the past. Also the timestamp was for when the dialogue was taking place. The non legendary scene has no dialogue and no timestamp.

I think the fact that Atriox has to run and activate ancient technology coupled with the fact that Atriox basically refused to fight chief without suckerpunching him shows just how afraid of chief he is

Offensive Bias was an AI created to defeat the flood and is pretty much the reason why the forerunners were able to win, he defended them long enough for them to activate the Ark. This is something that's been present in halo lore since around halo 3 I believe.
after hw2, in a book released a decent while ago there's details about how atriox gets from the ark to zeta halo. Some forces are sent to reach to get a slipspace crystal, then bring it to atriox so they can leave. All I can assume is that atriox either won the battle on the ark, or failed miserably and had to flee.

No, the time stamp is just for the voices of the dialogue It's to raise the threat level of whatever the Endless are and releasing them is something equally as bad as letting the Flood infect everything in the universe And that currently while Chief just defeated the Harbinger, Atriox this whole time being presumed killed or died, is about to release the Endless As far as we concerned on why they are desperate, the Endless are ended up being found by the Forerunners Post Halo Array firing and their original plan is to hide themselves into shield world or perish with all sentient All while indexing every lifeform to do a clean sweep of any biomass, to prevent the Flood from feeding anymore and growing and without biomass or hosts lumps, they will simply die off...to which ofc wasn't successful considering there were remnants about still... And the Endless species are apparently IMMUNE to the Halo Array. And that itself is a death sentence to their entire plan, since they have to keep everything locked down.. and here we have a species that could inevitably result in the Flood once consumed, will never fall. And will hunted down for eternity
@@davidthompson184 I think that's my biggest problem with it. It felt more like the setup for another story, rather than focusing on the story we're playing right now. I don't know what the Endless are, so I don't care if Harbinger releases them. In Halo CE you knew what the Flood was, because you fought them, so you had a reason to stop them. I just couldn't connect with the plot.

Its very much a character story to get Cheif back to being the soldier we need him to be, complete with a new ai, before the shit hits the fan again. It is not heavy on plot it is more focused on the characters which is very different from any previous Halo. I like it for what it is and hope the dlc gets back into the space opera complicated story that weve been missing

I believe the difference is that legendary has the voice over. I beat on heroic last night and got the cutscene with no voice over.

It's to raise the threat level of whatever the Endless are and releasing them is something equally as bad as letting the Flood infect everything in the universe
And that currently while Chief just defeated the Harbinger, Atriox this whole time being presumed killed or died, is about to release the Endless
As far as we concerned on why they are desperate, the Endless are ended up being found by the Forerunners Post Halo Array firing and their original plan is to hide themselves into shield world or perish with all sentient
All while indexing every lifeform to do a clean sweep of any biomass, to prevent the Flood from feeding anymore and growing and without biomass or hosts lumps, they will simply die off...to which ofc wasn't successful considering there were remnants about still...
And the Endless species are apparently IMMUNE to the Halo Array. And that itself is a death sentence to their entire plan, since they have to keep everything locked down.. and here we have a species that could inevitably result in the Flood once consumed, will never fall. And will hunted down for eternity

@@mothmanm602 the story was a bit confusing, but it’s pretty cool how it’s leading into something greater. The Endless, Atriox, time travel, etc.
@@davidthompson184 I think that's my biggest problem with it. It felt more like the setup for another story, rather than focusing on the story we're playing right now. I don't know what the Endless are, so I don't care if Harbinger releases them. In Halo CE you knew what the Flood was, because you fought them, so you had a reason to stop them. I just couldn't connect with the plot.
@@mothmanm602 I thought that too after my first playthrough, but after taking my time with the second I realized the game is really trying to work through chief and cortana post Halo 5. Its very much a character story to get Cheif back to being the soldier we need him to be, complete with a new ai, before the shit hits the fan again. It is not heavy on plot it is more focused on the characters which is very different from any previous Halo. I like it for what it is and hope the dlc gets back into the space opera complicated story that weve been missing
