    I had a haircut like this once. I was in Santiago de Chile and I walked into a run down mall and there was a small barber shop with an old guy in it. He must have been 70.
    I sat down and we had a chat while he was stropping the razor. He sprayed my hair and started combing and passing the razor over my head. I really could barely tell he was cutting my hair. At the end of the 30 minutes I had one of the best haircuts of my life and I felt like I had stepped back 50 years in time. I gave him double the price.

    I respect Japanese culture. They really take pride in elevating their craft to the highest level.

    • @jchomedog2887
      @jchomedog2887 6 месяцев назад +32

      It’s not the highest level. It’s doing it properly. If you care, you do things right. In America, for instance, we accept laziness, entitlement, and complacency. This is why Japan will always be superior when it comes to things that require effort. You have to care if you want things done well and right. It’s a shame that what should be considered the norm culturally around the world is seen as something that is beyond reach. People need to start caring and having some self reflection. As Marco Pierre White says, “Perfection is doing many little things right.”

      There are literally barbers all over the world that do this. You see a HIGHLY tempered fraction of Japanese culture in videos like this, because who the fuck is going to go and record an hour long video at a regular barbershop?
      Jeez, people in comment sections of these videos are so naive and have clearly never travelled the world.

    I went to the same Japanese hair stylist for 25 years. She always knew how I liked it and it was always perfect. Her business was closed one day and I only found out months later she had been suffering from cancer. She never said a thing to me. Ive been lost without her for a few years now. Big name haircut places dont have the expertise or the social commentary Im looking for(complete silence.) I wish I could have thanked her for her years of friendship.

      I found this comment while contemplating suicide. I’m 22 years old and I’ve got nothing.

    I love the culture and the bowing of the head. It seems so respectful. Could someone tell me why he bowed so many times and that does that mean? It looks prestigious and humbling.

    簡単そうに見えるレザーカット、実際は凄腕じゃないと出来ないんだろうなぁ。
    親父さんの職人技は見入ってしまいます。

      He looked better than a 5 to me when he came in. It’s not like he had cosmetic surgery when he left. 😂 He was an attractive man when he came in, to me - about a 7.
