The woman doing the intro is Keiko Terada, the lead singer of Show-ya. Show-ya is the first Japanese all-women metal band formed in 1981. They sponsor this Naon no Yaon all-women music festival. You should take a look at Show-ya's live cover of X-Japan's "Kurenail" with Hazuki and Saki of Nemophila as guest guitarists. ruclips.net/video/xGX41dvVisA/видео.html
Naon no Yaon ended when Keiko left Show-Ya and didn't really start up again until she returned. There is no Naon no Yaon without her. I do believe she will eventually pass the responsibility of the festival to none other than Saki.
Just a great song, absolutely love it! Heavy with a bone crushing tempo and combined with Mayu's vocal range/style...seems to bring on the perfect storm of sound and effect. Fantastic reaction Champ, much respect🤘
That is a great live version, thanks Champ, also thanks for the link to your other channel RE Korean TV, can’t wait to check it out, I’ve spent the past 12 months binging on Korean shows, they are amazing, 👍🇦🇺🤘I see you’ve watched Attorney Woo, I ended up watching it twice it was so captivating.
I love everything about this band. I also like how they are not afraid to experiment and try new things. The guitarist Saki is brilliant. If you watch her from her old band Mary’s Blood or her solo stuff, you see what a shred machine she is. So far in Nemophilia she is tamer to fit the songs…. But I can’t wait until she just gets unleashed to go crazy in a future song … They all are great musicians no doubt. Their new album is so far my favorite album of the year. Nice reaction. That part of the solo you said was strange is supposed to be like that. They do it live like that always at least the streams I have seen and even at aftershock. and I think it was like that on the Revive album too. Its just another trade off that Hazuki does that leads to Saki ending of the solo section. I always thought it was cool Only thing is Hazuki guitar sounds lower. I love all their songs. But this has always been my favorite one.
So are you coming in March to see them in NYC , I’m going to interview them before the show , Alan is coming so I hope you can come also👍 btw this song is one of my favs of there’s.
This band is unreal. Yes the vocalist is something special. Will see these girls in Dallas come March don't be surprised if they move the menu cause it's only holds 500.
@@TheChampOfMedium Come to Dallas! Ryan Mear is coming and im pretty sure Dicodec said he's going to the Dallas show too, would be dope to have you there as well!
About the same capacity as the Whisky. It would be nice if they could play at a bigger venue in Dallas. The Dallas Band-Maid show was moved almost immediately to House of Blues which holds about 1500 (it was a great show!). Band-Maid, however, sold more than 500 tickets in 24 hours and Nemophila hasn't sold out Trees yet. On the plus side, nobody is scheduled at House of Blues on 3/19 or that entire weekend, so fingers crossed.
@@michelm.6033 Band-Maid's first trip to Dallas was late September, 2019 and it was also at The House of Blues. That first Dallas show, however, was in the Cambridge Room which has a capacity of only 250-300 people. I was not there because I hadn't even heard of Band-Maid until 4 or 5 months later. I have read complaints about the show because the stage is so low that most there could barely see the band. The music itself was praised and I think the setlist was around two dozen songs. At the recent Dallas show, my wife and I were in the Balcony Left section practically right above Misa. My daughter and granddaughter were on the floor on the Kanami side. I agree with you that it is unlikely that Nemophila will change venues. Trees looks to have twice the capacity as the Cambridge Room with a much higher stage and a higher ceiling. I am going to decide this week if I can make the trip to Dallas which is 6 hours from me. It would be a no brainer if it was a Saturday show instead of Sunday.
@@michelm.6033 I was also discouraged by the empty seats in the balcony. I also believe that scalpers were the main issue but at least with regular scalpers they actually purchased tickets before trying to resell at a higher price. The scalper that really annoys me is Ticket Master/Live Nation that held back tickets from the initial sale in the hopes that the seats would sell for a higher price later. They were artificially limiting supply. Normally the venue would not like this kind of scalping since it prevents a true sold-out show. Unfortunately House of Blues is controlled by Ticket Master/Live Nation. Although the Dallas Band-Maid show was announced to be sold-out show, it likely was not because of the actions of Ticket Master/Live Nation.

her voice was realy good at this concert, she said that she had some problems with her voice because of her hormones during her pregnancy, on other concerts we saw that she was struggling a little bit , I hope she will return soon to the top ;)
That parts you felt strange (Hazuki's second solo) was totally understandable. They got 2 'unpolished' versions of OIRAN, the raw version (a.k.a RUclips version) and this live version. They did the 3rd polished version (REVIVE version) and it is in the REVIVE album obviously, where SAKI's first solo and Hazuki's second solo (yes both of them got 2 solo sections each and duel solo in the middle) sound more precise and clean. Which version is better? That's totally subjective as each have its own flavour.
I'm surprised you hadn't heard this song before. It's their first original release. They have a "RUclips version" done in a studio with obviously better sound.
They did this during COVID Lockdown with just a few people watching live and it was pouring rain for a lot of the day. However, remember they are still starting out together as a live band too so its great for all of us to begin the journey. This next bunch of touring for them will help them work out what does and doesnt work doing multiple shows. Hopefully Mayu is going to manage that voice of hers. This is my favourite by them together with Hypnosis (I honestly can't choose between those 2). Edit: Also, yes, this live version has a couple of flubs (including the one you mentioned during the solo). This was one of their earlier performances as far as I know, I am sure they are way cleaner when they play it now, but I really like this version because of it's rawness (especially Mayu's vocals).

I have two "complaints" about Nemophila: 1) I share your fear of Mayu damaging her voice with her harsh vocals. In "Dissension" during this same show, you can tell that she runs out of gas towards the end of the song. I'm also not a vocalist, or musician for that matter, but I would gladly support Mayu if she gave up the harsh vocals just so I can hear more of her cleans for years and years. She's my #2 fav vocalist behind Saiki. 2) I wish Hazuki and Saki would do more/longer solos, ala Lovebites. Maybe their goal is to keep me wanting more? Actually, throw Haraguchi-san and Tamu in there too for more solos and instrumentals.
I had the same concerns in the past (especially after hearing footage of this live show). I am not at all a singer or vocal coach, but I have a lot of experience with listening to music with harsh vocals and hers didn't sound super healthy to me either in the beginning of the band. But you can clearly hear in their newer material (and newer live sets) that she has been training with a vocal coach and her approach to her harsh vocals sounds different. Both her harsh and clean vocals sound way better and healthier in my (unprofessional) opinion. I'm sure she is not killing her voice any more. She is still not as consistent as some of her peers though and her vocals still sound somewhat tired at the end of a set, but I like the sound she produces a lot. I am sure it will get better over time, she is still only 25 years old or so. Their newer songs also use less harsh vocals (which I find unfortunate, but most people probably prefer). I am sure she is fine as far as her vocal health goes, no matter what style she uses.
Pterodactyl scream? Have you ever heard a pterodactyl? lol I love Hanabie for the same reason - harsh and clean, never just one or the other. Can’t believe you’ve never seen this before though - it’s so good! I think they were still messing with parts of the solo at this point. If you listen to the Oiran single it was kind of awkward still. Since then they have made it easier to play and easier to listen to. Still love this band.
