Playing devils advocate that was a rough batch of books. The Venom 25 is a common variant and sells for about $8 raw. The Amazing Fantasy cover is really bad - not very appealing art in my opinion. Like you said it’s a $250 raffle to try and win a grand prize. For Bry as a dealer it’s a pretty easy $100k cash grab so that’s why I don’t do mystery boxes. Thanks for sharing 👍
I should've done an unboxing video. I won the 5th Grand Prize New Mutants #98 CGC 9.8. This was my 5th MB from Bry's Comics. Bryan Gordon is a great dude. Thanks for the video!

Lol. I love doing business with my customers. But we have a business relationship, I give them a product and then take their money. They are nice people, but not my friends, and they won't be coming over for dinner, ever. Lol.

It would be nice if the grand prize winners would do a video showing off their new grail. If there was 499 mystery boxes sold, and in some cases a buyer would buy more than one, then it would help Bryan out a lot to just show he is a genuine guy.
Yeah I got essentially the same box, 9.8 gang war, and 2 other modern 9.8's that would never normally be slabbed and only done for this giveaway. No way it was worth the money and never again.

Thanks for another entertaining video ERod. Those mystery boxes are fun -- I wish you'd gotten an AF 15 tho 🙂 I agree, 1:100 Romita Sr.books are cool 👍
At CovrPrice, a raw copy of the Venom book sold for $128 in August (most recent sale), and no slabbed sales shown. The Amazing Fantasy #1000 has a 9.8 graded sale of $96.80 from a year ago (most recent slabbed sale). The Spider-Man First Strike book isn't shown at CP. So, you probably came out a little ahead, so not too bad.
Fun fact: I’ve scoured all social media many times to see if anyone posted that they won any of Bry’s mystery boxes or any of the major prizes, any posts any blogs! So far, absolutely zero. Not a single person……
Most of the people that buy mystery boxes aren’t CC’s. I’ve only done 1 Brys mystery box and won a first prize that ended up being worth more then half of the grand prizes. The Amazing Spidermam 26 virgin variant 9.8. Most have sold on eBay between 4k-5k. I was only a few numbers away from GSX 1 9.0.
@@derekrice5203 that’s not at all accurate, go grab mine 🤣🤣I have my copy up on eBay right now and bidding stops tomorrow at around 7:30pm CST, it’s at $45, Amazing Spider-Man #26 CGC 9.8 Bry's Comics Dell'Otto Limited to 480 Exclusive, don’t fool yourself!
You’re a tool, he has all the order numbers run through a third party generator LIVE in front of anyone who tunes in. Just because the winners don’t post and you’re so called “scouring” doesn’t turn something up…. These boxes are a gamble for massive books. Go do something with your time instead of “scouring” for nonsense..
Thanks for the video, unfortunately these mystery boxes are a shot in the dark and usually not a return on your to “get in” price. Too many ultra modern slabbed ratios don’t naturally equate to value, esp long term.
Bry's comics is awesome. i have ordered from him a few times and bought some of his Whatnot shows. I won his monthly prize one month and got the book quick. I am gonna have to grab his next mystery box!
I haven’t seen any of Brys videos lately. I know he decided it would be more profitable in the short term to sell comics in a mystery box format rather than to sell one at a time which eliminate unnecessary work hours.
@@678hump I think he does the Mystery boxes to sell those modern store exclusives and variants which is pretty smart. It would be way harder and would take more time to sell those alone if he didn't create the mystery boxes with the possibility to win a "grail".
if you want to give money to Bry that's ok, but these are not really transparent on the value - the books are usually modern garbage but pretty. This is the game people play now, just entertainment and losing money 100%. Not as bad as sports cards but keeps us busy. And still cheaper than Disney World.

Bry slabs a ton of $5-$10 books and passes them off at $100 value. I got screwed on his last one but like you said it’s the gamble for the big ones.

this is true for most mystery boxes

Might be wrong but I think he picks the winners of the big keys in a live drawing on youtube. If thats the case, I have my fingers crossed for you!

way back lol
Recent variants maintain little value in a 9.8. There are so many variants for certain books and so easy to get a 9.8 on those newer books.
agreed
