I installed the first padded seats in the United 500 club, way back, and found Tommy Docherty wandering around the stadium at 10pm. Scared the life out of me because I thought we were the only ones there and they'd given us the keys to lock up!
Copy and paste from another comment: Because since 1985, the sporting event act. Illegal to be in possession of an alcoholic drink while in direct view of a sporting event. While other sports have now had this rule relaxed, it's still in place for football matches. You can drink in a private box, but not outside seating deck (the padded seat area). Blame hooligans from the 80s.

@@1607Adi_Manz That's not what I meant. The rule itself makes sense, but the execution is stupid if you could just get drunk beforehand. Only way to execute this properly would be to alcohol test everybody before given entry, which is probably too much effort.

What a ripoff! So I can watch Barcelona for 129 pounds but 200+ for Swansea 😂 sorry but England does need to step up its game when it comes to hospitality.
Because they Want the People to leave the Lounge. Not only is it better for the Atmosphere, but also if things get emotional you cant „destroy“ things in the Lounge, e.g. throwing beer after a goal
@@vypex2389no. It's to do with the sporting event act. You are not allowed to consume alcohol in view of the pitch, unless you are in a privately owned box.

As a Coventry fan, we had to rent a trophy case for a year when we won the FA cup once. 🏆
general question (which may be a stupid one): why do the shutters go down before each match?

Licensing reg's prohibit consumption of alcohol in view of the pitch.

Could you go to al nassr and see if the padded seats include meeting Ronaldo
You should do a vip section for an American Football game(NFL). You might wanna fight random people for what they charge.
