- "The Wheel debuted on Jerry's first solo record in 1972, but wasn't played live by the Grateful Dead until 1976. From 1977 onward, it was generally (but not always) a song that came out of Drums, and a bit later, Space. The introduction to the song on Jerry's solo record includes some of Jerry's best recorded pedal steel playing." - David Lemieux

Will you come with me? Won't you come with me? There's no better place to take a long strange trip with the Grateful Dead than right here. We've got music from every single studio album and a bevy of live albums, to boot. There are celebrated live performances from the 70s and 80s and official videos with more skeletons than you can shake your bones at, an exclusive seaside series on what's to come from the band's rich catalog and details on meet-ups all across the promised land. If it's community you’re after, try your hand at our yearly DEAD COVERS PROJECT competition and connect with fellow Dead Heads around the world. Heck, keep your eyes peeled you might even catch a glimpse of Pigpen on keys, Jerry in a GROOVE, Bobby tellin' tales, Mickey talkin' space, Phil and friends, Bill on the beach, or anyone from our extended family.
It's all happenin' right here. Subscribe and you won't miss a thing.

It is
Best song coming out of space and drums yes the hour it’s getting late I love all of you
93 was the only year I saw Jerry live. Five shows. Caught the end of the trail.
Aren't we just so lucky to be in this time and space to experience, conceive and acknowledge musically, the Dead.
Nobody covers All Along the Watchtower like the Grateful Dead!!
It was a great show. This watchtower got he hooked on the dead. Buckeye lake was a blast overall for many types of shows.
I was here! Lotta phun!
🌈🎶🌈
I was there and it was one of the best ever, and sting opened
I saw all of their Buckeye Lake shows and I think it was the best one
@@morgan3105 It was excellent this show, better than '94
Long Live the Grateful Dead
I was here! Buckeye Lake, Ohio.
It was a hot June day in 1993.
We finally found "The Lake" a guy jumped in the water and came up waving a dripping wet sheet of hits he forgot were in his pocket. He commenced to fold-up the sheet and gobble it down.🌈
😂😂😂😂
As soon as all along the watch tower starts chills
The sound quality is superb.
Keep on Truckin’
Was at this concert. Buckeye Lake was one of my favorite places to see the boys! Always a blast!!😜🤪😝
Love Jerry's guitar and this version of all along the watchtower
If the Thunder don't get you, then the Lightning will !!!!!! ⚡⚡⚡💀💀💀🌹🌹🌹
Therapist: " anyone got a quote"?
Me: if the thunder don't get ya, then the lightning, will
😂
I remember this show, it was apparent that it was a different band but what was sweet about Buckeye it was open lawn n U could actually witness the performance right up to the stage. If you witnessed pre '90 where they lit up Deer Creek n Alpine Valley....whew!!But, I can enjoy these later performance better nowadays. Even, the last show @Soldier Field '95 word was "catch it while you can" on Shakedown but magic is real that's the first thing Grateful Dead taught me. It literally changed the way I heard and consumed music and played strings, for this I am forever grateful. God Bless The Grateful Dead!
Always cool to see Mickey in action. He is a unique drummer...
I set my kit up like his, with the lower rack tom on my left. It allows for some unique offbeats!
Real cool. Ty for uploading this.
R.I.P. Jerry.
I was there. Great show.
Yes it was brother😍💜🔥✌
I was there! Such a great show.
Love this version. Was messing around on guitar a couple weeks ago and accidentally learned how to play watchtower. That was exciting, because although I only ever got to see the Dead after Jerry, that song was one of the better live ones I ever saw them play, in Greensboro. I immediately felt transported back there, in the dark, sitting beside the stage. Phil does really well on this version.
2006? Jack Straw opener? I remember that show
Amazing
I love this!
I was so there. What a show!!
Thanks Dave!

Thank you for sharing this. Awesome sound. Loving the Grateful Dead! ❤✌
I wish the intro to the Wheel was 45 minutes long
Like an electric Dixie band!
I wish that one minute watchtower intro was 45 minutes long!
Once saw Jerry solo during Space for thirty minutes. Incredible 🎉
Stole my face, right off my head. Major head fart thanks LSD-25
Great show! My ticket was bunk, so I spent most of the night dancing, tripping and having sex in my tent!
I was there and every show at Buckeye Lake
Love the ad 1:26 into an 11 minute video...
RUclips has been brutal with the ads recently.

So hot
Lackluster version...,and where is Billy? He helped make this song! Put up a version where Bill figures predominantly in the mix...,
1:27 on repeat
Praise ORB
Father Christmas
Picture of the wherl
Mickey looks 10 yrs old with that haircut
Looks like Bill's artwork.
Its not like you have this whole show already uploaded on your channel....
going out of your way to toss shade on something totally free and non-compulsory is truly weird. just say thank you or pass on by
Yeah but if you want to just hear and watch this portion without watching the whole show, here it is! Stop complaining and being negative about dumb shit. It's unbecoming and we don't need bad vibes here. Take care. Good luck.
A
This song sounds like some music they play when you get put on hold
I wish
@@larryholcomb2165 hahaha! Best laugh I had today.
Happy your on hold ........... ha ha your time / life ....... yours alone ...von ....good tou deserve it .... be happy there and fulfilled.....ha ha ha
Here for Garcia, only to have it undermined by more bad Vince harmonies -- to the point Jerry and Bob are shouting and not listening -- and his typical clunky playing. His "solo" in Watchtower sounds like a mall demo attempt. My goodness. Fun video nonetheless with some great soloing by Jerry on Watchtower.
You undermine yourself with needless negativity.
Two wheels work best for me
By the way you can’t go wrong with Hendricks
first amendment audit
I hate the way this is filmed/taped. The constant zooming in and changing cameras is so fucking annoying. Why not just stay focused on the relevant player? Someone apparently has no faith in the viewers attention span. Whoever directed this wasted a decent performance.
