There was a lot to like, but what I really liked was, when mistakes were made we came right back, rallied to the ball and didn't get flustered AT ALL. 💯 That's the Baker effect. The man definitely belongs here and I am excited to see where he's going to take us. 👍 Hint: It's the Super Bowl. 😉

This was the best Buc team I’ve seen in a few years. I’m so proud of my team and am looking forward to this season. We finally look like a more complete team and our kicker is looking amazing. We should have at least 3 points every drive as long as we can protect the ball.
Rashad White looked great catching the ball!
I was most surprised with JTS. For the first time, he looked like more than a backup linebacker.

Bucky could be the starter by season end if White cannot hit the hole as quick. This will be a great healthy running competition.

@@gvegas Maybe later in the season because he is a better rusher. Bucky seems to be more explosive but white is way more versatile and is a legitimate threat in the passing game. The screen game is going to benefit white tremendously. He’s about to eat in this new motion offense.

My assessment for what little it matters...
Team Score: 86/100 B+
Offense Score: 90/100 A-
Defense Score: 81/100 B-
Special Teams Score: 99/100 A+
Offense: Baker Mayfield brought the entire bakery with him today, a 146.9 Passer rating just great stuff, he still needs to clean up some of his passes, he even said so in interviews, but its all nit pick stuff. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, they killed it out there. Cade Otton, a rough day for him and he needs to get better at blocking, he has gotten better over time but more is still required of him to make certain plays work. O-Line, good improvement over last year, Mauch is still a weak point, Graham Barton looked solid. RB's... White still seems to stop and miss run lanes or hesitate which is what holds him back from making explosive plays, Bucky Irving however was an absolute unit, it would not surprise me if Irving got the RB1 spot if he keeps this up over the next couple of games.
Defense: CAN OUR SECONDARY PLEASE STAY HEALTHY; I SWEAR WE ARE CURSED! Run stopping was good, pressure was very good, sacks could be much better, forced fumbles being 2/2 on sacks is perfection. We seem to be able to generate tons of pressure but to Jayden Daniel's credit, he is elusive and quick. We have to learn how to shut that stuff down because he is not the only athletic mobile QB in the NFL. Our secondary needs help because we are so banged up, I don't know what else to say about that.
Special Teams: This is short and sweet, kickers and punters did their jobs, Chase nailed it through the uprights all day and Camarda's hang time is still very much ELITE, I gave -1 because special teams did not score a touchdown, if they scored a TD it would have been perfection, the hat trick as it were, and I don't expect special teams to always score TD's which is why its only -1 out of 100 points, its that minor. Realistically they did excellent today well worthy of that A+
Penalties: We really shot ourselves in both feet with those penalties on offense and defense today, major plays busted or negated because of stupid penalties, this has to get cleaned up and its part of why both the offense and defense do not have better scores on my list.
Final thoughts: It was a good game, the Commanders are NOT a bad team, if you underestimate them they will make you pay for it on the scoreboard, Jayden Daniels played one hell of a debut game, and if he keeps getting better it looks like the Commanders have their Franchise QB. Speaking of Franchise QB's, I think its safe to say Baker is Franchise QB material, nuff said. Next week is the LIONS, and that is going to be a TOUGH away game, a true litmus test for the entire team, not discounting the Commanders but its an away game and against a very well formed team where as the Commanders are still going though some "teething" as it where. Can Baker lead the Bucs to the Super Bowl and win? YES, he can. Will it be this year? I HAVE NO CLUE, its going to be a tough season, but this was a good way to start the season.

Most of the rushing issues comes down to the oline and situational playcalling. There were so many times Rachad got the ball and there was a defender sitting there waiting. Irving looked good but most of his carry’s came on the final drive when Washington had given up. Just something to look at.
Making any statement after one game is useless. The Buc’s did look good and they have the tools so let’s hope.
Baker put on a clinic, he was pure magic all throughout the game. Mike was based AF per usual but dang (!) Chris Godwin was a menace. Bryce Hall going out like he did hurts, but this defense is stout. Liam Cohen called a lights out game.. Fire the cannons LET'S GO!!!
All I can say is... week 1! We are going to get better the more we play.
I think it was a good 1st outing against a team that didn't have their sh*t together... Daniels was unaccounted for most of the game, he should only improve as the season wears on. One thing not covered was injuries to the secondary, I hope our rookies can step up.... Its just getting started. GO BUCS!

I think it was a great start to the season but the game went exactly how we thought right? They even left 12 points on the field too. I was looking forward to a week 2 game in Detroit with both of our teams healthy to see where we are as a team but that’s not going to happen. Just like we can’t get too high about beating the Commanders, we can’t get too low if it’s a train wreck in Detroit.
I saw a lot of improvement in the run game, and I also didn’t think the O-line looked as clean as they could have. Rachaad didn’t get a ton of yards, but he had some good runs. It was the negative runs because of the busted blocking that kept his number down. He even said in the interview that he stayed out on a drive because Bucky was in a groove. I still have a lot of confidence in this team.
Just wait 'til this offense has developed more comfort and chemistry! When these guys get to where they can play this new system instinctively, we may finally see the "It Factor" Baker has had lying dormant within him since his college days. Then ALL will see why he was the 1st pick in the draft, and that it wasn't a mistake.
And the future is SOOOOO bright!!! Next season there's a chance Baker may have THE SAME OC TWO SEASONS IN A ROW!!! (He's used to having a 2 PER SEASON.)
Patrick Mahomes has had ONE OC in his 7 seasons! And that one is arguably the BEST offensive mind in the NFL! Yet so many so called experts think that comparing Bakers' success to Mahomes' is "apples-to-apples". It just CRACKS ME UP! :-)

Next week is gonna be a shootout rams put up 20 points vs Detroit , and that was with a ton of injured on their line and puka and higbee were out or injured in game . I just fear for our secondary as winfield got hurt , and we could be without our top corners . we even could be without kancey and hall again next week which will be tough vs the run .

Love what we did but it was the Commanders ! I hate our LBs not including David
White and Irving, MY GOODNESS! DL needs to step it up against Detroit next week, other than that, a very impressive win.

B+ MVP play from Baker. 146.4 QBR. MIKE IS MIKE!!! Chris looks like he is going to get paid. Bucky and J Mac are going to keep getting better. The defense played well, but it was not great. Cody Mauch is still the weak link in the Oline. KJ is not Devin's replacement. Need to get DB help NOW. Need to clean up some stupid penalties. Can pass rush inprove with Kancey in the lineup? Is there an issue with our punter? Will they be able to contend with the other elite teams as the season continues? Are the Saints our biggest threat in the South? A lot of questions, but it was a great win to start the season. GO BUCS!!!
As far as QB play goes, Baker looked slightly better than even Deshaun Watson.
If the bucs make it to the playoffs this year they should never give up liam coen like they did with canales
