The person FZD seems to struggle with the most from the last few matches is this guy..he has a high ceiling but mentally sometimes gets nervous..he's one of the best players in the world skills wise when he's on and calm..
they practice and play each other so often that they know each other's game inside and out...you won't find another match that has this most insane high level play, any where 👏👏👍👍👍
Using boxing terms, a back hand return is like a strong quick jab and a forehand strike is like a major KO punch attempt. Just seeing these two going about with so many back and forth forehand strike is like watching 2 heavyweights slugging it out with each other with no blocking and see who has the strongest chin. This match is amazing to watch, throughly enjoyed!

This sport is so advanced now, with many good players, you could be number one today, the next day you're not anymore because somebody has up his game. Liang was playing superb here that's why he beat Fan.
Such a tough tournament to win. Fan drawing Liang in this round is tough as these guys could split near 50/50 in matches they're both so good. Just depends on who is more on that day. Now Fan has to wait another 2 years to get his chance.
Liang played insanely well in this match. And that’s what it takes to beat Fan Zhendong! Also, you gotta love the roars from Liang when he wins big points 🤤
Liang Jingkun has the most powerful backhand for the amplitude of swing. With a compact stroke he is able to generate far greater spin and speed than most other players and can recover instantly to play another huge backhand. The drawbacks in LJK's game is that once he opens up a rally he just goes for it leaving little room for improvisation, unlike Ma Long who can vary his attacks.
Congrats to Liang ! He started on fire and FZD didn't catch up in speed till game number 5 where FZD go beastmode yet Liang did very well keeping stress level under control and finish the job . Liang clearly wanted the win badly and his hunger to fight for his name give him the edge here :)
This tournament is turning out to be the best one which i have followed in a while, many surprises like xu xin vs gauzy, ma long vs kanak jha and now this one. Damn i need to watch every match now

FZD's case remind me back to Ma Long. They both have highest potential to become next Grand Slam but someone appearing and preventing them. In the past, Wang Hao prevented and Zhang Jike appeared. Now, Ma Long is preventing and Liang Jingkun is appearing. Ma Long overcame and now I hope FZD will do the same
Thanks to the new ITTF ranking this match had to happen in the round of 16... while the lower bracket is a walk in the park. Great game from Liang, overpowering FZD, not a huge upset if you follow table tennis closely.
You really know nothing about Chinese Team. ML as the captain of CNT, would deninitely want his teammates to carry the burden with him. That's why CNT are so unbeatable for many years. They are a team first, then competitors.

There’s still Lin Gaoyuan and Liang Jingkun that he has to face and they aren’t easy opponents. The final would be a lot easier if he wins against both of them.
@@thenewguy7527 Ma Long was considered the underdog from 2005-2009. It was starting in late 2010, early 2011 when he started becoming the favorite to win the major titles. Losing to Wang Hao in 2009 was normal but in 2011 and 2013, it was really bad.
So many suprises this year... FZD, XX, Boll, Harimoto, Mima Ito all lost in such early stages (except Timo sick). I would not surprise if ML didnt get the championship now.

Fan's time will be harder and harder. His techniques are developed for the celluloid ball. He is used to turning his body and initiating attacks using his forehand, which is hugely inefficient in a plastic ball game. Also, he does not grip the racket firmly during service and pushing as Liang does. This leaves a delay as he switches from control to attack. I also play table tennis. With the new ball, I am having the same challenge as Fan does. Changing style is not easy.
Absolutely, i am also playing and noticing that Fans huge forehand rockets are easier to block back with the poly ball. Furthermore they are playing with the Butterfly Poly Ball. Compared to other balls this one is even more different then the celluloid ball.
From what it seems here, Fan played too much of a static game right off the bat. He didn't start changing his game until game 4 and 5 where he pulled out those forehand short serves. In addition, it seemed that he was playing moreso conservatively and didn't have the same hunger as Liang. In the past, Fan has always been the one fighting hard against Ma. Now other up and coming players of talent are going up against him. The mental game and mentality he has needs to change! He still needs to fight just as hard. With that being said, nothing against Liang. He's played his heart out and gotten a well deserved win!
The pressure of being No. 1 at the World Championships pretty much overwhelmed FZD. He was 100 times better in 2017 wttc esp against Ma Long even though he barely lost that match.
No surprise at all. LJK was the hardest match in Marvellous 12 for FZD, I knew that in WTTC, head to head (no coaching), LJK will try to beat him harder.
I wanted Fan Z to be Champion. Surprised to see LJK comeback with new Racket Yasaka Alnade and win. Fan missed too many shots just in bad form i guess. Good Luck to LJK.

All fan weapon in table tennis not yet completely. As compare, why ma long is the best all the time because he had good analysis game, perfect cover both of wings, change tactics in the middle game, placement, strong forehand, control backhand, forenhand flick, chop block, variations game, and of course good mentally include release all pressure. I am not sure fan have all of it.

梁的逼迫叫喊和得分后握拳打气的动作，稍微有炫耀的感觉。
