Hi Kelli! Thank you for this review! Would love to have seen more of the mattress with you/family laying on it and maybe pushing on it so that we can see how soft or plush it is. We are in the market for a new mattress as we also were talked into a high end foam/spring mattress that I absolutely HATE. I have arthritis in my neck and shoulders and constantly wake up in pain. It is like sleeping on a board. We just got back from a vacation and the bed that we slept in at our resort was fabulous. I can honestly say I had little to no pain. It was amazing. Trying to decide between these "bed in a box" vs a traditional mattress like our resort had.
I was searching for a Helix Dawn or Twilight review, starring the Helix Dawn or Twilight mattress. I am so glad I came across a verbal review instead. I know that I can trust someone's opinion (even if that someone doesn't actually own a Helix mattress at all), who may just have comparable sleep needs to my own, prior to shelling out a good portion of my savings account. Thank you, again, Kelli. Life saver.
What firmness did you choose for the helix bed? I've never had a new mattress and idk if I need a soft, medium, or firm. I weigh about 130lbs myself and sleep on my back and my side.

We had a helix and we returned it. (Ended up with a Tuft & Needle mattress.) I will say their return policy is so nice and it was easy and stress free returning the Helix mattress!

Thank you so much for doing a review! I love your reviews, especially this hyped up series. I've heard a good bit about these Helix mattresses from people who were sponsors, and had never met/encountered someone who actually got one, in "regularville USA". The fact that all of you enjoyed the mattress for Ava, is the greatest testament for me. I'm convinced that once I seriously go into looking for a new mattress (a little out of budget right now), I'll be turning to Helix. Do you personally know how long the promo codes last for these kinds of things are, or are they near indefinite?
This may be a odd request but my brother recently got married and now has three stepchild (14, 19, 22). I'm 30 myself and having trouble bonding with them. Nurse Love Hi! I know you asked Kelli for advice but I thought I'd give you some advice from a teenage perspective. I'm 17 and my mom got married to my stepdad last year. Honestly all I have to say is be yourself and don't try too hard lol. Try spending time with everyone as a family and eventually you'll form individual relationships with them. It'll take them a while to consider you a parent, so just try being more of a friend to them first and go from there. Good luck!
I was a stepchild, I recommend maybe taking them out to do things individually, starting with the youngest- most likely to be available and say yes. I still remember any nice things my stepuncles and aunts did when I was younger to this day.

I just ordered one. Your video popped up. Thank you for explaining that you need to unpackage it and not leave it in the box. We're under construction somewhat so that helped.
Love love love your reviews. I feel like maybe you had mentioned reviewing smile direct club at some point but I may be confusing you saying it and a podcast I've been binging, but gee, if you had any teeth straitening needed (you or fam) it's one of those hyped up things I'd love to see a down to earth review of, cause while it's way less than braces, it's still an investment and even if you're sponsored I'd trust the progress and perspective you have.

I have a very bad lower back due to a herniated discs and also I am a 75% stomach sleeper and sometimes I like to sleep on my sides from time to time! I have narrowed down my search to either a Helix Twilight Lux of a Casper wave hybrid due to a bad back! What Helix mattress did you go with since you never mentioned in your video is what mattress did you go with?

You are so right....hate hate hate matress shopping. I bought a very firm one (because the retailer told me so) and after one night my ribs and my back hurt so bad. I tried to bring it back but since it is a hygiene article they wouldn't take it back. Long story short....after calling them on a daily basis, i got another matress and it is way better. Worst experience ever and so annoying.
I haven't tried Helix but I loved your review :) I'd been sleeping on a tempurpedic style mattress (don't think it was the actual brand but it could have been) for the past 9 years. It was too hard and caused me lots and lots of aches. I now sleep on a Casper mattress (which I believe is a little more firm than most of the other box mattresses) and it is so amazing. It is super supportive but softer and more comfortable then my previous one. Best is that I don't get body aches unless I sleep in a stupid position. I could probably have gone with a mattress a little softer than this however my guy is heavier than I am and it would have been too soft for him. I'm happy with our decision.

I know this is an older video but if you do send it back how do you go about it do you have to re compress it?
There is no way you can recompress the mattress. Helix will hire a subcontractor that will come to your home and remove it. The mattress is not light at all so be prepared for some lifting exercise.

Did the cooling aspect of the mattress seem to help keep Ava cool at night? I'm considering a Helix, I've taken the quiz and I'm just contemplating. I am happy to see that they have financing because I'm a waitress who just lost everything after a bad breakup, lost my bed too. Anyway, I've always been a super HOT sleeper too and the temperature control aspects of this mattress seem appealing to me, maybe you could as your daughter about that when you get a chance as I'm very curious. Thanks for this review Kelli, I had no idea about this company prior to your video.
Also I'm 5'5 and like 140 pounds, seemingly close to your body type and if you found it comfortable, especially more comfortable than a bed that was too firm, that was promising to me as well.
I actually bought a Helix a few months ago. I'm a hot sleeper too, husband not so much. So his side is different than mine. But yeah, I don't get hot at night anymore. It's amazing! I really am surprised that I'm as happy as I am with the Helix mattress. My husband isn't as happy (complains about back pain) but he sleeps on his stomach sometimes and that in itself isn't good for your back... In fact, the only time he complains about pain is when he does sleep on his stomach... I should mention this to him.
We got the helix mattress after doing their sleep quiz. We bought the one recommended for us. Well big mistake. After 60 something days I wrote to them telling them how the mattress was giving me lower back pain, neck and shoulder pain. The "comfort consultant" offered a free topper which we decided to try. In the email it was mention that this was not extending the 100 days and that only one topper is allowed. I followed again the recommendation and we got the "soft" topper. The time to set that in motion and trying the topper for a decent period of time... surprise your 100 days are gone and the "comfort consultant" tells you that there is nothing to do. I think those mattress are poorly design and conception, and the sleep quiz is just for show. I'm 5 feet 105 lbs, in my mid 40s and a side sleeper, since we have the mattress I can't sleep on my side without having my spine twist and hurt. Sleeping on my back is the only option if I want to be able to walk during the day. Sitting is painful, being upright is painful. I use to exercise everyday now I can only light yoga and stretching. My life is a nightmare since we have that mattress. Do not buy. It is a waste of money and you will loose some physical mobility and life quality.
I also was very skeptical about many mattresses researched and researched. I finally bought a helix mattress this December will be 2 years and it is absolutely amazing has held up has done an excellent job still extremely supportive to my back very comfortable never overheats I live here near Palm Springs California so I will tell you in my opinion helix go for it you have the choice to optimize and personalize that mattress for your body and all your partner's body it's a great great deal. I work I don't have time to spend all day making videos but Helix gets my vote for sure

I truly love your reviews because of how much effort you put into deciding on a sponsorship and you don't just take a sponsorship for the money (which I wouldn't blame you for on certain things) but big items like a mattress it means a lot that you did make sure of things. I know you said you waited about six hours before putting sheets on and stuff I'm guessing since you don't have ac Ava has a window unit did not sure how many windows she has but was the chemical smell gone after that six hours? Did you have a window open or the AC in her room running. We are looking for a new mattress and like you I hate mattress shopping because they always try to sell you on what you don't want I've had one go as far as telling me I was uncomfortable on that mattress because my body was used to sleeping on a low quality mattress? Mary Ann and I are looking for a new mattress we want to go back to a Queen because we can't even sleep close to each other because their is a big lump in the middle I've flipped it turned it sideways it just stinks so much so we bought a cooling foam for the top hoping that would help it didn't. MA has back problems from hours and hours in the. OR and I'm extremely ill so I really don't want to go mattress shopping. What did you do with Ava's old mattress I may have missed that in the video if you said I apologize for missing it. Anyway thank you again for being you fully and truly with us. I think they're going to start slowing down on reviews. She's said in a video that she has what works for her and is kind of reluctant to spend money on more period products. Not saying that she won't but I not every month will be a new cup- unless maybe someone sends it to her…
Are you still using the mattress?
The Helix was WAY too firm for me. I am a side sleeper and my back wasn’t aligned as there was too much pressure on my shoulders and hips. Every morning my back was sore. Thankfully they do have good customer service and it was easy to return.
TheBadMoJoe I just bought a Nectar and this is also too firm for me. I went from having back problems on my old mattress to having back problems on a new mattress. I thought I'd try helix next since they have options to make it softer. When you took the quiz did you ask them to make it a softer bed? I am also a side sleeper. Ugh this is very frustrating.
So even after answering their questionaire, you still have a mattress that cause aches?

WTF! What is wrong with a "breathable cotton box spring", or natural fabric for clothing for that matter? Not sure if anyone else has this issue, but personally any product made from poly/oil my body will start reacting to it and over heat. Decided to look into purple because there claim is it will last forever and it's also very "cool" while sleeping. I also understand the reason for them using this powder. If powder is not introduced then the mattress will become sticky and not function. Meaning without power it will hold memory/shape you slept in. Wont be buying one any time soon. What are your thoughts???
Hello there I'm actually an ex purple mattress owner and I know now it's been 5 months since you posted this question. But to be honest after 1.5yr with the purple I had to find something for me and the way that helix personalized the mattress for myself and my wife is perfect, just to say after the very first night of sleep I was out. I have back arthritis and lower back problems with neck issues as well, so I thought for sure purple would be great for me and I shelled out the 1300; cause I thought that's would work for myself and I'm 145lbs, and now I'm shelling another 1300 for helix but I would say this time I know for sure it's worth it!
Funny, we went out to check mattress out and for the first time I got to try out a Serta ultra expensive 2k foam mattress. I like the bouncy feel of a pillow top, and these all barely sink. But as all say, buy what you like... We eneded getting her a spring mattress after she tried them all out.

There is an order, but it disappears after a day or two.
What size is the mattress?
I assume it's from your own experience when you're saying "if you unhappy with it for any reason you're going to get a refund"? Or it's from the promises made on their website by Helix marketing department?
Also if you could clarify how exactly you made sure the customer service is there? What did you do to be sure of that?
Get over yourself and go to the website yourself or look at other reviews of this which say the same thing about customer service etc geez!!! She did a great job!

I don’t need to go to their website. I can speak first hand experience because I actually had to return Helix product. And so I was wondering how the OP knows about Helix customer service. So she knows about it from the reviews posted on their own website. I get it.

Nothing worse than a soft mattress. My back hurts just listening to this. Regardless, I'm curious how well these mattresses hold up over time. I have had an issue where every mattress I buy gets ruts, even on my girlfriend's side and she is only 130 lbs.
I'm a Helix owner and I couldn't agree more with you. It's a winner. I'm a BIG man (about 350) and finding a mattress for me has proved very hard. In the first place, it's hard to find one that can accommodate my weight. Nevertheless I took the Helix test, checked out reviews & gave one a try. WOW. All I can say is it's a winner, at least for me.
I also enjoyed the unpacking. I laughed when I saw your vid of that as I remember unpacking mine. I was curious as to how they folded those, too. I looked up some vids. I'll attach a link to one so you can see. If I remember correctly those folding machines are about 40 grand. Glad you love yours. I think the company is TOP NOTCH.
