Didn't even realize that was a new server when I opened the game, opened up Little Enterprise, couldn't get my 4 year old save file back, then proceeded to spend 20 minutes trying to figure out that I was on the Sandy server. 10/10 would panick again

A small warning from me, a veteran f2p player. Even with all of these generousness, there is a secret deadly trap that new f2p olayers might not realize. It's name is *dock space* a.k.a character storage. The game is so generous that you most likely will get most characters that you want with no issue. But here is the problem. You can get everything you want, but your hands can't hold everything... This is the trap. The dock space is limited, while shipgirls numbers keep growing. Use your gems wisely. Don't get tempted by anything unless you are ready to pay the consequence (or money lol). Use your gems mostly for expanding dock space. I speak from my experience. Like, I sometimes save up my gems to buy the special wedding ring pack (yes, even gems are farmable and they also give free gems sometimes). I'm happy that I can marry my waifus, but then I realized that my dock is already full... With heart full of regret, I had to sell some girls to free up more space (wait, that sounds so wrong...). So if you are a kind players who want to keep everyone, then spending gems only on dock space is recommended. The hardest temptation for this for me is the wedding ring. But if you can be patient, they always distribute one or two of it every year. And you get one for free too at the beginning if I'm not wrong. So if you are not a harem guy, than it won't be a problem lol. Also, if you are a cold hearted guy who play favoritism or a true gamer who only care for gameplay, then limited dock space isn't relly an issue as you only keep characters you want. As if I can be frank, gameplay wise, more than 50% of the characters here are kinda useless... Still about dock space, a bit tip from me again. Try to join a high leveled guild/clan. You can get free dock space from guild's perks. And the higher the guild's level, the more stuff you can get. Including dock spaces. Btw, if you are willing to pay money, the amount of gems that you need for a dock expansion is quite small. So it's actually won't cost you that much IRL money. For skins tho, you really need to pay more money for it (you can still save up your gems and ignore rings or dock space if you really want a skin). It can't be helped. It's basically the main source for the dev's revenue after all.

Yes to this, I played consistently as F2P for about 8 or 9 months and even with completely ignoring half the factions, my dock space was always a problem. My main account only had Allied ships, but pretty much all my gems went into expanding this. Only oathed Hammann and Oklahoma. Eventually made an alt account for my Axis ships (oathed Köln). What killed the game for me was the combat getting really stale, constantly having to juggle dock space on my main account, and tediously having to swap out equipment. Event stories did not make much sense as I started after 4th Anniversary.
If you want gems play any main campaign story a few times and you can get them by doing commission. For the farming I advised you used any shipgirl with faction that you want to get experience for Priority ship. For dock system, once a month at least 3-4 new shipgirl will come so save up to 10-15 dock space for upgrade ship (Bulin) and event shipgirl. Buy 300 gem at least per month.
there are a few ways to fix this: 1, don't be strictly F2P, but don't buy skins. just get the monthly and bi-monthly passes, for a total of $18/month, and u get plenty of premium currency to upgrade dock space as needed, along with many other benefits
Yes, don't worry about FOMO because they bring everyone back to get easily! It's a very F2P game that I saved 1k+ Pulls, it's crazy how spoiled we are (save over the 3+ years despite being unlucky from time to time). I forgot to mention that the only thing you're going to buy are skins, I bought like 200+ skins, no I'm not kidding, these devs are cultured as hell with skins so I support them.

I have 192 skins bought as far as I know. 26 r L2D. I also have 168 wives too! Some of which wud have been daughters if we had an ‘adoption’ option. Maybe 10 or 15 or so girls I love and r so precious that I can’t just ignore them like I do with most girls. Marrying them is my only option to show my love to them so that’s wat I did. The devs are showing they have an interest in improving and 1 upping themselves. They've been upgrading some of the chibis, and modernizing bits of the UI as they go on. The current event Island Breeze event is fantastic. They built on what they did with the Ryza Collab and expanded on it. It's just a ton more content compared to previous events. Then they dropped some absolutely amazing skins, 5x the lewd for 1/5 of the price of the latest nikke fiasco, lmao.
As someone who also hasn't played in over a year, I think an aspect that this game also does better than 80% of other gachas, are the actual character designs imo (at least the least old ones). Not to mention, if you're looking for a certain kind of "culture" in those designs, I believe this game does it better than any.
As someone who started to play Azur Lane a year ago I can't really tell how the game was back in the early stages but as for now, my experience has been incredible. You really only pay for cosmeticts (if you want) as the shipgirls comes easily with just playing daily. They are constantly rerolling events and also adding them to permanent pool so don't feel bad if you start playing now and your waifu is an old ship as you will most likely get her next time she shows up. There are different game modes like OPS or pvp and everything you do in this game feels rewarding even small things like opening catboxes. I have played several gacha games (more than 20) for the past 10 years and this one is without any doubt the best for me, only downsides could be the pvp (if you enjoy the strategy and the effort to get great rewards beating other players, that is not something you will get here as pvp is very casual) and the fact that the game is most likely nsfw (if you don't enjoy seeing anime girls with barely any clothes on with lewd L2D animations and dialogs, then is probably not for you).
Glad to see so many AL fans sharing their experiences :). Catboxes are relatively new to me since 2019/2020 for sure, so is Meta ship construction and Operation Siren. Glad to hear reruns are generous as always, had someone here mention a couple crossover events may even return too. (I still have my Neptunia and Kizuna Ai ships sitting in my dock not leveled lmao) Also, the L2D is pretty NSFW sometimes yes (not that I'm complaining) but it would simply defeat the purpose of collecting shipgirls not to admire the art.
I really do wish they'd make improvements to PVP... Most of it's issues would be resolved by allowing specific gear to always be saved on your PVP defensive fleet... Even if you were to use it on another ship for campaign stuff. Cuz the competitiveness is killed when you go up against a seemingly tough opponent, but they have no weapons equipped lol.
@@joereality1664 PVP doesn't seem like a very big part of the game, mostly PVE and waifu collection being focused on by the devs. It could use a bit of work for sure, but I'm glad it's not the main focus of the game since I don't like competing with others to chase a meta. At the very least, it's not Honkai Impact.
@@TheAniknight No, it doesn't need to be a main focus, it's primary objective is you farm merit points for good items. But for end game players where we lack challenges, having to fight well built defensive fleets would be fun. Cuz remember PVP in this games lets you re-challange someone multiple times without penalty and lets you pick from a selection of opponents.
It’s a generous game in my opinion. On special days like Chinese new year, anniversary or when a big bug occurs they gift you the premium currency (gems) and on Valentine’s Day a free ring to marry one of the ships!
Like many people have mentioned, the dock space could really be a problem if you wanna build a massive harem. And also the METAs from the cruise pass, if you want the rewards you also need to claim the META ship which can't be retired or removed. That's about my only issue with the game, in one of the surveys I suggested they make either like a seperate dock for METAs or just don't count them as 1 dock space, because ik some people don't want them. Otherwise the game is honestly so incredebly well made for being a f2p mobile game.
@@TheAniknight that's fair, I'm kinda a collector so I knew from the start that one day imma need to spend some money on it. Well, NJ rerun came around and I built 189 times without getting her. Bought the lucky box and still didn't get enough cubes for 200 pulls. So then I just bought the 80 Euro pack (since it doubles the gems I figured it's best I go big) and got NJ and a few dock spaces. Now I'm sitting at 600 (up to 450 was f2p only) and still got around 9.4k gems or smth. But tbh the devs actually deserve the money, unlike some other companies, so it ain't bad.
AL is the first Gacha game I played like 4 years ago and I came back to it recently (2-3 weeks) and i'm still in love with the shipgirls! I had to restart (because younger me stupid didn't link account lol) and still the game is soo rewarding I built up a super deck of ship in no time. Plus, even if you run out of oil, there is always commission or research you can farm afk. Really fun idle game you can set on the side and like you said, watch your favorite chibi shipgirl fire torpedoes and rounds at enemies. solid 8.5/10
1:45 I just want to correct this that you can in fact level up your ship girls with EXP packs. You gain these by doing usual battles and they will build up in your study hall then you can claim them to use as exp boosts on any ship girl.
I really really love this game! I've been playing it for about 4 year now and have a lot of Level 125 waifus. You got a lot of things very right, but after all the years you really need some extra doc space if you want to keep most of the girls. Not about 400 but a lot more than the 150 you got at the start. Sooo some of the gems should not go into skins or rings but should be saved to extend your harem~
for me this was the first gacha I've ever played, nay. the first anime game I've ever played! And I got into this because I watched too many kancolle and arpeggio of blue steel, then had the urge to play a shipgirl game XD

other aspect of the game that i really really really like its that... you don't have to be the best, you can just chill with your favorite ship girls, hang out with whatever you have and it feels good, it feels rewarding, unlike in Genshin for example where you feel the need of the new character becouse if you don't get it the game becomes unplayeable, you could run azur lane with just the starter ships that they give you for free and it would be fine.

I had 3 fleets at 120 and had FDG at 120 maxxed (back then when she was the most powerful ship around). Is it worth it to return here? I left because i was so invested that it felt like a second job. A great one, but still a job. Is it any better now compared to how it was back then?
Quite a lot of the game is the same as when I left all those years ago, apart from Operation Siren, the META shipgirls and the ship cats. Also the fact that all the old events are now doable at your own pace, so if you're an old player, it's a lot of content to clear, which is nice. Even if I do think Azur Lane's great for its age, I end up gravitating towards the newer stuff like BA and PGR, especially with how far behind I seem to be. Now that I've seen a fair few more games than I have in the last month or so, it's also much easier to sweep the more mundane farming maps on newer games than having to run all of them manually on the background like with FGO & Azur Lane.

Can anyone tell me if I should be able to run this game at a consistent 60 fps on OnePlus 11 (16 gb version)? Cause I can't and I hate it. It stutters and drops frames all the time. Especially at the start of combat.

ships do lvl up from materials, its called an exp boost and you need ship copies/bullions for limit breaks, you do not need copies for skills, skills lvl up with books.. if you meant saccing low lvl ships for stat enhancement boost thats still a wrong statement since you dont use ship copies for that, your enitre statement there (1:48) is very much confusing
Yup I meant the low level ship sacrificing for stat enhancements doesn't contribute to levelling units, and that the actual levelling of units can only be done by sending them on missions. Unless things have changed in the last 4 years and the ships actually can increase in their overall level by some other means. Also yes I did forget Limit Breaks, but I didn't want to get too technical since I find people get bored when I start going into too many specifics.

Total size of updates + all game files is 11GB if you go with all game files (8GB option), but there is a 3.1GB option in the menu that likely adds up to 8GB total.
Unfortunately this game, like all gacha games becomes more of a chore than a fun experience. And the returns for your efforts are greatly diminished over time. I stopped playing because the game devilves to the same formula over and over eith nothing fun about it
I am salty that the U.R. type 2 is cursed..... Same with yorktown i had to pity. 400 cubes damn it. I am cursed with the type 2 rolls. That's like a month and a half. Not bad but it stil hurt. But it is 100% beginner friendly. I am one year in only and it is going great. Game is super friendly to players

@@joereality1664 PVP doesn't seem like a very big part of the game, mostly PVE and waifu collection being focused on by the devs. It could use a bit of work for sure, but I'm glad it's not the main focus of the game since I don't like competing with others to chase a meta. At the very least, it's not Honkai Impact.
@@TheAniknight No, it doesn't need to be a main focus, it's primary objective is you farm merit points for good items. But for end game players where we lack challenges, having to fight well built defensive fleets would be fun. Cuz remember PVP in this games lets you re-challange someone multiple times without penalty and lets you pick from a selection of opponents.
It’s a generous game in my opinion. On special days like Chinese new year, anniversary or when a big bug occurs they gift you the premium currency (gems) and on Valentine’s Day a free ring to marry one of the ships!
On Valentine's day you also get a special valentine card unique to whatever ship you set as your secretary that day lol.
Like many people have mentioned, the dock space could really be a problem if you wanna build a massive harem. And also the METAs from the cruise pass, if you want the rewards you also need to claim the META ship which can't be retired or removed. That's about my only issue with the game, in one of the surveys I suggested they make either like a seperate dock for METAs or just don't count them as 1 dock space, because ik some people don't want them. Otherwise the game is honestly so incredebly well made for being a f2p mobile game.
Dock space is definitely always sad to hear about. Pretty sure my dock is completely full and I don't want to spend gems on it :L
@@TheAniknight that's fair, I'm kinda a collector so I knew from the start that one day imma need to spend some money on it. Well, NJ rerun came around and I built 189 times without getting her. Bought the lucky box and still didn't get enough cubes for 200 pulls. So then I just bought the 80 Euro pack (since it doubles the gems I figured it's best I go big) and got NJ and a few dock spaces. Now I'm sitting at 600 (up to 450 was f2p only) and still got around 9.4k gems or smth. But tbh the devs actually deserve the money, unlike some other companies, so it ain't bad.
AL is the first Gacha game I played like 4 years ago and I came back to it recently (2-3 weeks) and i'm still in love with the shipgirls! I had to restart (because younger me stupid didn't link account lol) and still the game is soo rewarding I built up a super deck of ship in no time. Plus, even if you run out of oil, there is always commission or research you can farm afk. Really fun idle game you can set on the side and like you said, watch your favorite chibi shipgirl fire torpedoes and rounds at enemies. solid 8.5/10
1:45 I just want to correct this that you can in fact level up your ship girls with EXP packs. You gain these by doing usual battles and they will build up in your study hall then you can claim them to use as exp boosts on any ship girl.

I really really love this game! I've been playing it for about 4 year now and have a lot of Level 125 waifus. You got a lot of things very right, but after all the years you really need some extra doc space if you want to keep most of the girls. Not about 400 but a lot more than the 150 you got at the start. Sooo some of the gems should not go into skins or rings but should be saved to extend your harem~
That's definitely well-needed so I don't have to keep emptying my dock XD

other aspect of the game that i really really really like its that... you don't have to be the best, you can just chill with your favorite ship girls, hang out with whatever you have and it feels good, it feels rewarding, unlike in Genshin for example where you feel the need of the new character becouse if you don't get it the game becomes unplayeable, you could run azur lane with just the starter ships that they give you for free and it would be fine.
Agreed, no need to be the best in a game that is inherently single player. As for Genshin, once you have Raiden, you're always meta. 🤣

The only thing I kinda worry is about the dock size, specifically for F2Ps,I mean,notice there's some ships that is unable to be retired like the research ships and META ships,several players already issuing this for long time,like,sure they do give additional free docks by guild but....I feel like there should be other way for that

I had 3 fleets at 120 and had FDG at 120 maxxed (back then when she was the most powerful ship around).

I left because i was so invested that it felt like a second job. A great one, but still a job.

Quite a lot of the game is the same as when I left all those years ago, apart from Operation Siren, the META shipgirls and the ship cats. Also the fact that all the old events are now doable at your own pace, so if you're an old player, it's a lot of content to clear, which is nice.
Even if I do think Azur Lane's great for its age, I end up gravitating towards the newer stuff like BA and PGR, especially with how far behind I seem to be.
Now that I've seen a fair few more games than I have in the last month or so, it's also much easier to sweep the more mundane farming maps on newer games than having to run all of them manually on the background like with FGO & Azur Lane.
One of the few games it is hard to not get a UR on banner.

Can anyone tell me if I should be able to run this game at a consistent 60 fps on OnePlus 11 (16 gb version)? Cause I can't and I hate it. It stutters and drops frames all the time. Especially at the start of combat.
They need to come out with a second version of Azur Lane with an actual good gameplay.
Will probably only play this to marry Hood and Bismarck as well as a few others like Bellfast, Warspite, Roon, Ark Royal and Wales(by a few I realize that I actually mean quite a lot).

You might have to double check the rates for the banners. If you mean the UR version of her, you need to get an item to retrofit her.

ships do lvl up from materials, its called an exp boost
and you need ship copies/bullions for limit breaks,
you do not need copies for skills, skills lvl up with books.. if you meant saccing low lvl ships for stat enhancement boost thats still a wrong statement since you dont use ship copies for that,

Yup I meant the low level ship sacrificing for stat enhancements doesn't contribute to levelling units, and that the actual levelling of units can only be done by sending them on missions. Unless things have changed in the last 4 years and the ships actually can increase in their overall level by some other means.
Also yes I did forget Limit Breaks, but I didn't want to get too technical since I find people get bored when I start going into too many specifics.

also you did not speak about it in your video but there is exercice a pvp mode. and operation siren where you get material to make torpedo gun etc... for your ship.

Mostly, yes.
Unfortunately this game, like all gacha games becomes more of a chore than a fun experience. And the returns for your efforts are greatly diminished over time. I stopped playing because the game devilves to the same formula over and over eith nothing fun about it

I am salty that the U.R. type 2 is cursed..... Same with yorktown i had to pity. 400 cubes damn it. I am cursed with the type 2 rolls. That's like a month and a half. Not bad but it stil hurt. But it is 100% beginner friendly. I am one year in only and it is going great. Game is super friendly to players
