Now that I’m watching this back I can see how me saying you become a “new person” could sound scary. I mainly mean you just are a NEW version of yourself, which can be such a beautiful thing ♥️
It's so true tho, it's like a metamorphosis. I feel like i just shed my younger self and letting go of that "younger me" was hard at first but i like who i am more now.
I really needed to hear Hunter say he didn’t have an emotional attachment until several months later. I have a 8 month old and in the beginning (and occasionally now) my husband just doesn’t show a lot of affection towards our son and I used to always think “he doesn’t want to be a dad” which I know now it’s just different for the dads, but for so long it bothered so much and caused many arguments. I thought we were the only ones who went through that so it made me feel better hearing others go / have gone through it. ❤️
This video has made me feel so much better about being a mom and realizing that it’s okay to go through these struggles while being a new parent! You guys are such an inspiration and Ivey is so lucky to have you both❤️
The most important relationship in a family is the parents. It's critical you put each other first ahead of the kids. I've really grown to like you guys alot and I'm glad you made this video
I'm a 42 mother of 2 adult daughters. 18 and 23. When your my age and the kids are grown, I'm glad I'm still young and can do things I couldn't do when I was I'm my 20s. Life is short, time flies!
I’ve never heard anyone else say they didn’t feel super connected to their child while they were pregnant and even several months old. I went through the exact same thing and haven’t heard of anyone else feeling that way! I truly thought something was wrong with me. Thank y’all so much ❤️ ALSO, Fellow Alabamian - my dad is from Ozark/Dothan. My grandpa still lives in Newton 😊
This is exactly what I pray for. You guys are amazing. One day when I’m a momma I can’t wait to meet the person I become. I’m so excited for motherhood. This was beautiful. I love the love. ❤
You guys need to give yourselves a break!! Y’all had a COVID baby, you literally couldn’t go anywhere!!! Please have another and bring more happiness into the world. You guys are amazing 🤩 and I SO enjoy you. ❤
Hey Devin and Hunter, I just wanted to say, I love how down to earth and real you guys are in your videos! I also so appreciate how you’re not afraid to share your faith in your work on social media!❤️ It’s fun to hear about your values in parenting (we have a little girl who will be two in March as well! Happy almost birthday Ivey! 🥳) God bless your sweet family, and keep shining for Him! 💕
You guys should start a podcast where you speak about your experiences and life, but especially your faith. I would love to have something like that to listen to on my walks to work.
You're encouraging Devin! Love you guys I'm all the way down under in Australia 🦘🌏 and yes I'm a Christian and really love how you guys are in a different country and all. God bless your family 🙏
God bless you two! I wish my wife and I had met and married as young as you did. Marrying young is great - lets you grow together rather than developing your habits on your own and then having to deal with that.
Thank you both for sharing your postpartum experience. My baby is 10 months old and I am just now starting to accept the new me and go out and do things. I was a HERMIT. 😂 My husband struggled with anxiety and depression as well during the first few months. It can be very stressful as first time parents but it's so encouraging to see y'all made it out of that struggle and are thriving. 😊
Hey guys! I have not been a follower for very long. I love watching your sweet family. It's been so sweet to see your family growing together and in Christ, which is super important. This video popped up while folding laundry today, and I just thought it was funny because my husband and I got married at 19, we were married 3 years before we had our first daughter at 22, we also come from divorced parents, and we live in Alabama. 😅 We get so many negative comments about being married young, having children young, etc.... But, we have now been married 13 years with 2 daughters, and while it hasn't always been easy, it's been so cool to grow up together, figure out life together and raise our girls. Y'all are awesome. Don't let anyone tell you it can't be done. It will take work, sometimes hard work, but it can be done.
Love y’all’s channel! ❤ Do y’all plan on regularly taking Ivey to church and getting her involved? (Also so happy y’all are openly talking about your faith in God!!)
Keep being you guys I can’t support you guys enough. You’re a beautiful couple and AMAZING people and I really hope I get the pleasure of meeting you guys someday. I ❤️ you guys stay safe and keep being positive good people.
Can I just say for me personally I don't feel like having number two was any easier than the first. My firstborn was such a breeze/ still is compared to adding another one to the mix. Everyone said it would be such an easy adjustment but they only had 13m between them and it was HARD. yall are so blessed to get to add another, if you decide to, later rather than sooner. I think it'll give a grace period much more. Such a sweet family👨👩👧 much love!
Me and my gf had been together for two years before we had our son son Noah . He's a wonderful boy he just turned one in January! It definitely helps being in a relationship and living together for awhile before you have a child . God bless you both . Also Noah says hi !
We were hermits our first month while my husband was off and I LOVED it. Forced myself out once a day after he went back to work and I swear that’s what saved me. I still had PPD but it slowly got better.
Word of advice,2 adult girls, married 32 years. when it comes to school we did private Christian K-8 and public 9-12. Church and school same place so friends and family from church and school were same. I think if I could do over I would move out of Christian around 5th or 6th. The high school public transition was tough
My parents sent me to a lutheran private school up until 2nd grade. I think it really gave me the foundation and joy for God. Then i started going to public schools. I feel like this was good cause it gave me that foundation, but also exposure to the fact that not everyone was a believer and that I would also have to work through my faith. I feel like public schools give a natural challenge to faith that helps result in stronger faith at the end of the day.
Homeschooling is the best thing for a Christian child in my opinion. Reading Wild and free is a great homeschooling book! So many podcasts on giving Christian children a biblical principle in their schooling.
I got married and pregnant at 22 🥰 had my bb boy in august after my birthday in June so I was 23 . Now I’m 28 with and almost four year old a two year old and my baby who’s about to be one.
Would love to hear your advice or take on disagreements surrounding parents or in laws being able to take the kids for awhile. I definitely feel like we could incorporate a date night here or there and would benefit from it but my partner is completely against anyone watching our kids ever. 2 kids back to back and I’d love to be able to connect with my partner again, just us for a night. 😔
A big gday mate from Australia 🇦🇺 something a little funny Devin is a lunchtime meat in a Australia lol go figure love the vlog look forward to seeing more cheers 🥂
Loveeee this!!! Right after we had Ivey we were the closest but when PPD/PPA hit I think that’s when I struggled but thankfully we worked through that!!♥️♥️🙌🏼
we got Married at 25 and 26 ....now 36 years later No Kids.....and it's fine....Life just got in the way....funny thing about us is how many friends we lost that had kids and we did not....the Dink couples lose friends that have kids...(dink) double income no kids....LOL
Dont be hard on yourself for things- omgosh - soxmany tbings we fought about, re baby /life etc, details of her welfare… all silly now!! Your personalities raise the kid. Those “tragic mistakes,” usually aren’t remembered. Just talking to your kid as someone you respect, will be an awesome human. (And dont let them get indoctrinated in public school!)
@@kenella74 hopefully she likes it. to me its fake and for show and cringy. in my time I've learned people truly lie when they post stuff for the world. but for me its a mistake because staring like that its just creepy lol but otherwise i love these two lol

I’m so glad you said this though I think more parents need to hear it. It’s okay if you change a lot of who you are. 🎉

Mama bear will always try to hold onto her child and keep her, it’s the dad that knows how to set the child free and prepare for the real world

18 weeks! And our marriage changing has been one of the biggest fears for me personally. This lifted a weight off my shoulders so thank you 🤍
