  • Detached body with deer hair and cdc, hackle and some dry fly dubbing. Almost fish guaranteed on this fly in the vulgata hatch:)
This fly give me many , but many fish the last year in the mayfly hatch here in my local fishing places and will work in other places.

That’s an interesting way to do that but I may have a better way. I use clear silicone and I apply it to a needle in a drill chuck. I then wrap a thin veil of dubbing around it till I get a tapers body. It’s also water proof and hollow so it floats like a cork

Beautiful, but won't the threads loosen after pulling the pin out, any way, I guess that a bit of laquer can prevent thát.
    - What hook is it, and what kind of deer hair are best to use....?

Thank You very much!! No it’s not a problem with the thread but a drop of cellire make it more segure. I fish with this fly since a couple of years and they works well. This is not a durable fly like with a chenille body, but in my opinion and experience better silhouette in the water, float longer and don’t change the form after casting. Long deer hair is the best and easiest to use with a curved hook. Remember strong hook than the fish with take your fly with enthusiasm;)
