Muddler are my favorite flies to fish with in windy situations. Golden tippet for the tail, dubbing, tinsel and deer hair. I use to ty on strong wet fly hook.

Always a pleasure to ty Spey flies:) The bronze mallard for the wings is a fantastic feather to work with. Tinsel, silk, guinea feather and heron hackle are the other materials. For more security can one of the tinsel wrap in the opposite direction of the other. This fly will be with me in my box this summer :)

I received this challenge from my wife when I said to her that I was not feeling comfortable to ty flies(inside). She said go out then maybe it goes better:) A fun thing to do! Deer hair and cdc are favorite for my own dry flies. The peacock quills and tinsel make the body and some foam for visibility and floating. When the original colors are not catching I like to fish this fly. Sometimes it’s work:) tied on the caddis emerger hook from Partridge.

My favorite salmon fly to ty! This one here is for fishing and not for a collection:) the Patriot single hook size 6 or 8.... silver tinsel for the tag and rib, golden pheasant for the tail, black and yellow floss or silk for the body, blue hackle for the beard hackle and mallard for the wings. And yes I will try to speak in the video in the future:)

Hackle and peacock are to beautiful materials to work with . To have an compact and tidy hackle you need to clean the one side of the feather before tying. The peacock quills need to be moistened or damp before tying, on this way it will not break so easy. Enjoy the video and let me know if you want more dry flies videos!!
