Do you ride the Subway’s lettered lines? They are currently using train cars of different lengths (60 and 75 feet cars), and since they all have 4 doors per train, the door placements are different. Expect for the J/Z, L, and M, it’s impossible.

Jake Liu New R211s (which will be 60 foot cars) will be arriving within the next few years. The first 535 cars, paid for out of the 2015-19 plan, will be arriving here soon. Even then, that still won’t be enough. Even if the extra 1077 cars were built, there will still be additional 75 feet cars to replace. Not to mention that the doors will be WIDER than the doors on the current 60 feet cars, making things even more complicated.
If the train hit those support beams harder it could have caused a sinkhole on the street or under a building; calling it 'sabotage' is not going far enough.
