    Thanks, very usefull. "Update": no need to set Z as up axis indeed. What you really need is both "Maya Preferences" and "FBX Export Settings" to be set in the same up axis, whether is Z or Y, but they have to be the same.

    I had some issue with where character joints are rotating in wrong direction, is this Z up also effect joints ??

      That is probably because your local axis orientation is wrong. It is nothing to do with Z up. Go search local axis orientation in RUclips.

    What happened if you dont use Z up and just Y axis up? some glitch going to happened?

      If you only use Unity, it will be OK. This is a setting for supporting both Unreal and Unity.
