I was born in 1972 and starting with Bruce Lee, I've been following martial arts my entire life. Today is the first time that I've heard the name Frank Dux. I will also say that throughout this video, I did not see any stance or motion from Dux that would suggest that he even knows how to produce any real power with a strike and he even seems to lack stability. I especially enjoyed from 12:05 - 12:15 where he's blindfolded and points his head towards the ceiling so he can look under the blindfold to see his next attacker. He's Legit!

if only an attacker on the street were so submissive and limber when you twist their hand
“ i’ve never been beaten by someone i didn’t play. “ My cocky opening statement in every game i’ve ever played 😂
Random attackers on the street are normally after money and valuables and plan to have the odds overwhelmingly in their favour. So they carry weapons and have accomplices. That balances things out just in case you know Kung fu.
Plus they’re cracked out of their brains, so they don’t have normal reasoning and thought patterns going on.
But they might be willing to let you go, if you know a local store in the area that has lax security, or the guard is off duty.
The Glimmer man»)
Jack of all trades is master at none.
Steven Seagal is signly responsible for bringing Jujitsu and Aikido to the world. I pick Steven Seagal, he has quite a bit of experience. Force and real contact in training makes a student better in real situations

I trained at Frank Dux's dojo in North Hollywood back in 80s. Steven Seagal's dojo was in West Hollywood.
There was no beef between them. Dux had made problems with Benny the Jet Uriquidez and Stephen Hayes.
Both actually walked into Dux's dojo and confronted him. Dux claimed he beat Benny the Jet in a fight. Stephen Hayes didn't like that Dux was marketing his art as ninjitsu.
It wouldn't be until the 90s that Dux would make commemts about Seagal in interviews.
But, prior to that there was no rivalry.
Dux did teach a real martial art. It was japanese jujutsu with elements of karate, and military combatives.
He wanted to make money so he jumped on the ninja craze.
I'm a fan of all martial arts so it's really about respect and honor for the arts in general. The teachers and students of the art are simply guiding the art into the future hearts of champions.

Frank Shamrock TKO's both Dux & Segal in 1 round
He would have them tapping out in the first round.
I completely agree with the assessment of the setup. My curiosity is more about Frank's claim about being a Ninjutsu master being that the maximum height for a ninja is roughly around 5 to 5 and half feet. Ninja were not trained to be assassins. They were spies. The art form itself is a defensive art that is only utilized if you are discovered in the process of doing your job colleting intelligence. The physical size of the ninja had to be a smaller person to fit into the small crawl spaces that were all over buildings in old Japanese buildings. For Frank to claim he was trained as an assassin to me is just not in the spirit of the actual art form. I'll shut up now.
Yeah right those Shuriken, katana and nun chucks are just for show and tell sessions. “I’m a Ninja, take a look at my nun chucks.”
Yes shut up now.
@@flashgordon6670 I see that you have a difference of opinion. Please share your knowledge on the ninjutsu form. And how they used katana instead of the traditional ninjato blade. And how all ninja are assassins and not clans that specialized in that particular military usage. I am very curious and would love to be enlightened. My knowledge is apparently lacking.
Thank you...for shutting up, that is! 🙄😏
On martial artists connecting/hurting stuntmen, there are interviews explaining that it is arranged. For example, Chuck Norris on Letterman states that his stuntmen were his training partners. Another example is Seagal stating that his students were used for a fight scene in Above the Law. Yet another example, SNL staff say that Seagal brought in his own stuntmen for a skit.
Of course, there are accidents, however. On the abovementioned Letterman show, Chuck says he accidentally knocked out his training partners. And Sean Connery on Leno, says that Seagal broke Connery's wrist during training.
So in summary, the bad rep that movie martial artist get for hurting stuntmen may be just due to accidents, not their being assholes.
I'd love to talk to you about this on my show! Great video.
Thanks for it brilliant video 💖💖
I honestly don't care if what happened in Bloodsport really happened. The movie is iconic and In my heart it really happened
Oh Bruddah!! 🙄
If a fight were set up between these 2, say in the 80s...I think Seagal wipes the floor with Dux if they stick to rules and fighting styles. I think their egos not wanting to lose face would send the fight off the rails into cheating and dirty tactics. No matter who won, the other would claim the other cheated to win. I think only a street fight could settle it. Then again, the dirty fighting would come into play still. Though I think Seagal's skills are superior, I wouldn't put anything past Dux. Literally anything could happen including concealed firearms. This matchup is the most interesting since prime Tyson vs. prime Ali. Awesome video!
I’m a brown belt in “Shin Shin Toitsu Aikdio which was created by Koichi Tohei who was Morihei Ueshiba’s number one student.
He later left Ueshiba dojo when O’Sensei died and his son Moriteru Ueshiba became the head (or Doshu) of the Dojo.
His (Tohei Sensei) school taught Aikido with Ki and was named “The Ki Society”
What Seagal practices is not genuine Aikido as Ueshiba developed it.
Seagal practices AikiJutsu which is a harder form as it involves more vicious techniques.
In Aikido you are taught to inflict just enough pain to complete the technique without doing damage. The techniques are the same but the intension and intensity of the practitioners are different.
I saw an interview with the late Scottish actor Sean Connery. Connery told a story about studying with Seagal in order to learn some techniques to use in his upcoming James Bond flick.
Connery explained that Seagal broke Connery’s wrist and left it permanently damaged.
While I respect Seagal’s skill I’ve grown to dislike him as a bully.
I saw all his early movies before he became a caricature of himself. He’s the reason I took up Aikido and I can tell you that Aikido saved me from severe injury when as a 53 year old I was attacked by a 30 something guy who was a lot bigger than me.
Honestly, the fight didn’t end well for the young attacker and I can tell you that it wasn’t the softer form of Aikido that I used to emerge the victor!
There were several strikes to the opponents face and a kick to his knee as well as two kicks to his groin.
What I can tell you for sure was the Aikido helped me move in a circular motion to elude his sucker punch, minimize the punch’s effect and to slow the fight down in my head and outthink him.
Aikido, has a lot to recommend it but I endorse adding striking (Atemi) arts to the grappling techniques.
I had also studied Ishin Ryu Karate as well as Kempo both of which enhanced my self defense skills when combined with Aikido.
I’ll be 73 in a few months and while I don’t want to get into any scrapes at my age, I feel like I know enough to still defend myself!
I love your assessment on this. I agree that Steven Seagull does have an edge over Frank Dux. I want to know if you ever heard of a guy called Count Dante? If you've have, I would like to know your opinion on him

Frank Dux school is actually called Dux Ryu Ninjutsu, with a "U". It's his form of Ninjistsu. He said himself there's no such thing as Ninjas in the US, so I don't think Seagal was having a quip at Dux. As for the beef between them, Dux said he was offered a bag full of money to go hurt Seagal bad and it was over, as he believed, Seagal dating Kelly Le Brock while she was still married and he said he made a report about it and went and warned Seagal, as they had someone in common they knew in the intelligence community. That's what he said on Viking. He said they shook hands and he couldn't believe how huge Seagal's hands were and that Seagal was very interested to know who it was asking details and he had no problems with him. Dux disputes a lot of what Sheldon Lettich says.
Frank Dux says a lot of things, and it's usually BS.
@@GoldenbellTraining I wouldn't believe a damn thing that Dux says, as the maker of "Bloodsport" knew that the entire movie was based on lies.
Ninjutsu is not a form of ninjitsu, the 'jitsu' part is a spelling portation error, also very often seen in other combinations like (Brazilian) jiu-jitsu and others. The correct Japanese pronunciation is 'jutsu'. The word jitsu exists but is not the appropriate one.

It's always interesting on comments like this what makes you an expert on either one? You see a video of videos taken out of context and not really a way to know what they really know. I know of a Karate Master back in the 70's who developed his own form of Wado Ki Karate. Mr. B as he was known as had worked out with the legends of Okinawan Karate in the 50's and 60's. Yet, the last known rank in Japan was 3rd degree. But, that was like 20 years prior to me training with him in 1971. The Gogu people of the time didn't believe him until he showed them up. That's the problem. There is no way to know about these guys unless someone digs up proof of their tournaments they won.
Talk is cheap, what makes You so expert?
I honestly don’t even know how Seagal can walk out of his house looking like that.
Out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on Yoshokai Aikido, founded by Takashi Kushida?

I just found out that Do Seagal passed. Frank D, god bless all of you. And thank you for this video.
did not even know that kelly lebrock and steven had spawned an offspring until now

Man, you nailed it squarely right. Judging from the demo clips of Dux, nothing spectacular, Just a sesei demonstrating one clumsy takedown and finishing up with a punch. Like my karate instructor did with us back in the day.
Well, the thing is, most of the video clips were when he was much older than when he claims to have fought those tournaments. Seems like it wouldn't be that hard to find out about the tournaments Dux was in. But, it doesn't mean that in the videos he's at his top fighting conditioning and movement either. Obviously much heavier.
YES! Want it!
I had just become a shodan in Aikido when Above the law hit the theaters. It was the first time I had seen a movie using REAL application of martial arts that did not use special camera angles/effects. You can’t fake throwing a person with camera angles. His techniques in his early movies are flawless. The storyline/presentation do NOT align with actual Aikido training but none of the movies were ABOUT Aikido. By the way, any of you on the anti-Aikido bandwagon does not have a valid position unless YOU HAVE TRAINED IN AIKIDO!
Most of the negative vids I have seen take Aikido training out of context and I have yet to see a contest where actual Aikido techniques were used…and yes, I have trained in other arts (Karate/Kung fu/JKD/FMA etc..). Aikido and all the martial arts I have trained blend together nicely to provide a very effective method that minimizes the weaknesses inherent in all individual styles. Don’t get trapped by the political nonsense rampant in martial arts today! Just because you trained with some special person does not mean you did anything special with that knowledge. What matters is what you can do, not which name you can drop. Also, on the street, rank is just how bad you smell when faced with real violence. That belt with stripes will not protect you.
Fake throwing is ALL you do in aikido
With the power of Cookies Sensei Seagull can overcome any fight...
Hi Prince, I have a request. Can you please make a video in the future about Don Wilson vs. JCVD?? Because here we are in 2024 and Don Wilson STILL can’t keep Van Damme’s name out his mouth!
Steven Seagal in this one!
What if akido master Steven segall faced off with an all you can eat buffet?
How do they do on ground fighting
Like a turtle on it's shell.
😂
Although not a Seagal fan , i am fairly confident he would take Dux . You can see from his old video's , he had much faster reflexes than Dux , even though Dux claimed he was faster than Bruce Lee .
