The event was celebrated thereafter as Hannukah, also described as the Feast of Dedication This is actually mentioned in John chapter 10, where Jesus is said to have been in Jerusalem at the time of the festival! If Christ had known that the prophecy in Daniel 8:14 acually referred to an 'investigative judgment starting in 1844, He wouldnt have been celebrating the Feast of Dedication 8n Jerusalem.
