As a child, I wrote to him because I enjoyed seeing his performances on TV. He sent me a handwritten reply and photograph. This was while he was acting in Charlie Girl at the Adelphi Theatre, in London. His letter mentioned his son Timothy, who was only slightly older than me. It was a charming and thoughtful letter, which leads me to believe that he was a very nice man and I still have it somewhere, together with his photograph.

@@scottlewisparsons9551 Hi Scott. In my case, you could have ended that sentence after "any work", my friend:)
I am proud of various achievements in my life. I never scored a point at Rugby in all my time at Grammar School. Got 0% at, both, Woodwork and Technical Drawing but my proudest achievement is never having changed a plug, bled a radiator or changed a modern lightbulb.
      Work is, definitely, overrated😀

Nimmo's insurance career was not short. He even qualified professionally as an Associate (ACII) of the Chartered Insurance Institute. That took at least 5 years of examinations.

In 1979, I played in a show/review with 3 Australian actors, produced by Nimmo at the Intercontinental hotel in Dubai (for ex-pats) - then the only hotel in a tiny Dubai.
