Best Budget USB Mic Test: Maono vs Fifine

  • A few months ago Maono (yes, I realize I spelled it wrong throughout the entire video) sent me their nice little USB desktop microphone, and I thought it was pretty much unbeatable for the price (and am still using it today).
    Maono USB Mic Review: • Maono Portable USB Mic...
    That video has gotten quite a few views (for me), and the question people always seem to want to know is how does it compare to the Fifine microphone? Enough people asked the question that I decided to go ahead and pick one up to do a comparison.
    All audio in the video is untampered with outside of a bit of leveling to keep things fairly consistent.
    My take away: they are both good values, but I prefer the sound of the Maono. I do like the package of the Fifine though. If you’re grabbing the Maono, make sure you check the affiliate links below for an appropriate boom arm and adapter to make it all work.

    Compatible Boom Arm: amzn.to/388vezb

    The Maono sounds warmer and good voice over/podcast and the FiFine sounds slightly 'tinny' to me. Maybe its a cheaper capsule. The Fifine almost sounds better at a distance but id pick the Maono everytime.

    The Maono is the clear winner. It has a much more relaxed, virtually professional sound. When using it, you sound like you're in a room that's been treated for radio production. Compared to the Fifine, which has a harsh, hard edged sound you'd expect from a cheap mic, it's really impressive how much bang for the buck the Maono gives you.

    1 Query - How did you connect your iPhone adapter with dual mic mount???? BDW this was an awesome video, thanks for showing everything in detail, without watching this video I wouldn't have realized that dual mic mount can also be used to hold a phone. It would be easier for us if you put up the links to those accessories (used for phones mounting), i haven't found any video on this dual mic mount which can be a good alternative for overhead shots. only the old videos which aren't working anymore, because they are just phone mounting video on boom arm but not the mic. in your setup it looks promising to have both on same mount. Can you please make a video on this?

  • @MFLORAX992
    @MFLORAX992 3 года назад +3

    I understand that the gain is equal between both mics but I think theyre both the same quality
    I believe the maono mic just has a lower gain and the fifine has the higher one
    so for example the sweet spot for maono is 50 and fifine 40, they sound the same but different levels of gain
    I found fifine a long time ago, it is a very good value, and then the price increased and I still believe its really good

I checked that Fifine k669b is actually the same as T669 except for removing the arm and the filter, and still k669b is $10 more expensive than maono. And for the sound quality after watching your video, Maono wins in my opinion, so there is no reason for me to pick K669b over au-pm461tr.
