    I took out my hazmat with intentions of hauling fuel. Ended up doing compressed gas because it was easier to get into and the schedule was mon to Friday. Fuel is good money if ur down with working weekends nights holidays. I'm back doing beer making close to 100k. I find quality of life triumphs the dollar. I'm just a Monday thru Friday kinda guy

    Originally, I had intended on trying to get on with a big company like maverick, flying J, or Groendyke Transport… but because I was a new driver, I got shut down. They did me a favor I now do LTL. And the only thing I’m waiting for is to get my top pay. I have my weekends off and I’m home every day if I get some of the line run bids that I want in the future I will make $500 a day no matter everyday. And the one thing I found out by other drivers, who have worked the tankers they lose their weekends because the work schedule keeps rotating. Right now it’s an excellent fit for me. Hooking up doubles and making sure all the placards and weights are right!💰😎👍

      you must be talking about linehual. you forgot to mention the senior will take all the runs and left you nothing so you have to work on the dock for less pay with more physical work, not to mention you will be on call. it will take 10+ years to get good paying route, the $500 a day.

      You can get those endorsements in a day if you pass your tests. Even if you fail you can come back the next day and retake them. All you have to do is watch RUclips videos about the questions for each test. Your hazmat you have to have had ELDT training but I found an online company that only charged $25 and it’s all online clicking answers. Got through that in an hour. Your endorsements are all multiple choice answers 20-30 questions each section.

    I started out hauling jet fuel for the Air Force, then later propane (local delivery) for a brief while. Since leaving HAZMAT, I haven't looked back. I enjoy the variety and link to economics with box trailer jobs, and I don't miss dealing with fumes or contact with toxic liquids. Agreed with the risk assessment, it's like with anything. Life is short, do what you want and be careful!

    So, tank hazmat and TWIC. Some companies pay for your TWIC or they give you a grace period to get it. Used to be 5 years driving experience (and still should be) but now most companies want 2 and ive seen some take 1. You need the experience in having your road senses and awareness down, maneuvering with high center of gravity, night driving and blind side backing into closed, dark stations. You have to have immaculate attention to detail, this aint pallets this is gallons and any screweup in this industry is expensive. Have a spill leak into a storm drain you could end up in cuffs, a rollover almost gurantees your demise. Just a sample of the many hazards. Most companies are making 100k + but youll be putting in hours. Now (Holiday season) and around May/june (summer driving season) ilare the best times to apply. Good luck.

      @imanthonytv tankers really dont make that much considering the dangers of hauling a bomb sometimes.. to me the risk outweighs the reward in tankers. You know where the money is at its at ltl come and get it and save your back. Or go to dunkin donuts way easier work for you.. i know food pays well but your back is the most important part of your body to preserve and we all know how easy it is to injure our backs. You put in your work time to go to something that pays the same or close and less work and way less hours..

    • @imanthonytv
      @imanthonytv  7 месяцев назад +1

      @cryptonator1988 I hear you brother. You definitely make some good points. I will say that my particular route is sweet. I work 40-44hrs a week. Off weekends paid weekly. Only 6 stops total. My workload isn’t bad at all which is why I’m almost 5yrs in. I also know that I would have to work a lot more hours doing LTL to make what I make working 44hrs a week. I’m also not opposed to hauling fuel. I personally believe fuel hauling provides more stability than LTL. I rarely hear about fuel haulers getting laid off. LTL on the other hand, that’s a different story.

    • @cryptonator1988
      @cryptonator1988 7 месяцев назад +1

      @imanthonytv ohh you have it kush then.. don't leave the grass isnt always greener on the other side. Food pays the most for sure but at what cost to your body. Ltl if you go linehaul you will make 2k plus a week gross not breaking your back. True fuel haul has stability but they also work 60-70hrs a week to get 2k plus a week its insane and most dont wanna pay more then 25-27hr on average i know their are a few that pay 30$hr plus but hard to find if your not in the right area. Also aaa cooper, south eastern freight lines and estes dont lay people off in ltl. Im trying to get on teaming with old dominion they make a lot of money only out 5 days weekend's off build up my senoirity and then bid on a solo run making the same over time.. my wifes a driver but unfortunately ltl companies dont allow pets we have a cat otherwise id team drive with her and really bring home bank.. Hopefully they eventually change their policy..

    Good Content as always. Can you dig into the tanker/hazmat lane? Becuase there’s one more big question I have, and it’s about facial hair because a lot of fuel haulers keep telling me that when you do the hazmat tanker jobs, 80% of those who require no facial hair, and no beard. So I still don’t know how true that is. Hopefully you can make a video about it. 🙏🙏🙏🙏💪💪💯💯🦺

      I’ve never heard that before but I’ll probably make a post about it. I’ve definitely seen plenty of fuel haulers with facial hair/beards.

      It’s very much true. You have to be fit for a respirator. Not all jobs require it but I pull tankers and a few guys that started with me had to shave
