How is the bass on this. I tested Yamahas and found that they are a bit lacking in bass. I play folk and classic country and really like a bass response. I have 2 dreads but want a more comfortable everyday player. This is the size I'm looking for so I know it wont sound like a dread. Opinion?? There are no Eastmans to try around here.

Hi Tony thanks for your reaching out. It's a valid and common question when it comes to smaller body guitars like OM's and 00's. Let me reassure you. I played it back to back to the Epiphone masterbuild Texan which is a dreadnaught guitar as well as the Martin 000 10-e. But the Eastman was holding its own very well and the bass response was simaller if not better than the Dreadnaught both on strumming and single note picking. Honestly it surprises me every time I pick this guitar up. It's so rich and full in tone it's crazy considering it's price point.
I hope that answered your question. And yes that's exactly why I went with a smaller sized guitar. Because of the comfort of playing on the couch.
I promise you, you won't be disappointed. Good luck on your search.

@@eugene_blommaert Hey thanks for the input. I think Ill take the chance . It sounds on the video like a great sound. Of course the appointments are classy and understated. I cant stand "bling". Nice channel!! Thanks again.

@@tonydovell6131 if you liked the video then you will like the guitar even more. It's not easy to capture what the ears are hearing. But I've tried my best. I'm glad you like the channel. Totally agree on the appointments of the guitar, it's subtle and definitely not overstated. They have done a great job on the finish.

@@tonydovell6131 How did the guitar turn out. Thinking of buying

    • @tonydovell6131
      @tonydovell6131 2 месяца назад

@@joepal843 Im actually gonna sell it. Firstly, the guitar is beautiful. Sounds great etc. No complaints with the guitar at all. My problem is the 1 3/4" nut width. I cant get used it. Im a banjo player also, so the very narrow width of the banjo is what Im used to and what I need to stay used too. My other guitars are narrower widths and it is fine going back and forth. But the 1 3/4" on the Eastman is just a bit too fumbley for me. It seems once I get used to it, it hinders my banjo playing. Not working for me at all. It's a shame because I love the guitar and the gig bag is awesome. Its in new/mint condition, only had it for a month, but GC will only give me$600 for it. I paid with tax over $900. Geeeeez.

You know what drives me crazy? I’ve owned several Eastman: an E20SS, an E10SSv, an E6D, an E8OM, and a couple of the lower entry models such as the E1SS- but the E1OM-SP, without question, is my favorite Eastman I’ve ever owned. It sounds so good. I’m kind of taken aback by how it sounds. I almost didn’t get it because I’m a tonewood snob.

I would consider myself very fortunate to be able to have owned that many guitars. Picking the E1OMSP was somewhat intuitive for me but as I learn, I hear more experienced from people like you as well as picking the guitar up on a daily basis. I feel like I made a good decision on purchasing the Eastman E1 OM special.

My baby! Incredible guitar for the money! Best value for this price range. The icing on the cake would have been a hardcase, or even a soft foam-case. Even thought the gig bag is very good quality! Well that'll be my next upgrade for it.

Are you sure about the scale length? The Eastman OM's I've seen around have had 24.9in scale length, despite the OM name.

    • @eugene_blommaert

Hi thanks for reaching out. Unless the website of Eastman is incorrect, I'm pretty sure the Scale Length is indeed 25.4in. www.eastmanguitars.com/e1om_special

I was also confused about it in the beginning cause it used to say 24,9'' scale length on their site when it came out. But it is indeed full scale length! I've measured it, 650mm. And you can hear it and feel it when played! I compared it to the normal E1OM and even the E3OM and I was surprised about the sound difference! The TC top gives it also a big advantage. It's more comparable to the more expensive models in sound in my opinion.

      @@NickP-ug2bl If it's really 25.4in it should be 645mm.

@@IndigoJo Maybe my measuring was a bit off and it is 645mm I don't know. In any case it's not shorter scale.

I just ordered one of these here in Australia and I am excited to hear it is a long scale!! Definitely a plus for me as I play dreads with heavier hand. 👋🇦🇺👍

Really bad recording quality on the guitar. Very difficult to evaluate.
