Hey everyone! In this video, I take a look at a very controversial extreme demon - Firework by Cherry Team. This level is very divided when it comes to the community's opinions on it, so I thought it could be cool to talk about it and give my opinions on this level. I tried my best to really go beyond just the decoration and gameplay and talk about the impact that the level will have as a whole, so hopefully you guys enjoy it!

Honestly, I have mixed opinions on this level. I like the “Minimalistic” decoration, colors and theme, the decoration doesn’t obstruct the gameplay that much, but it doesn’t really “please visually”, the gameplay looks really annoying and inconsistent, but it doesn’t look forced and it flows well, I also like the the extensive cube parts since most extremes these days consist of ship and wave difficulty. The sync is almost perfect, and not only the clicks sync with the song but also the “icon’s movement”. These are my thoughts about this level, it’s a simple level but it works.
fr, i love the way it gets its difficulty from that unconventional cube gameplay, probably my fav thing about it

Yeah I will admit I'm pretty out of the two latest top 1 One Minute hell demons since they're essentially extended ship and wave challenges.
Yeah annoying and hard gameplay of any game mode is an eyebrow raiser but Fwork (I thought that sounded funny) is at least interesting. Though as an artpiece, Firework is... Trying not to exaggerate but, a little bit of a mess.
#1 Demons are honestly frustrating as they've now become a competition instead of a challenge, where people with no real research of GD gameplay attempt to throw in something and say "LOOK AT ME! I'M AT THE TOP!" I want to make a number 1 Hardest challenge in GD, but a part of me feels demoralised that some random could ruin my dreams, and that I, as some random, could ruin the dreams of someone else like TrustA and his GC project.
there's one cube before the second drop where you click to the sixteenth notes in the song and it looks really awful to play, but it looks really funny simultaneously

I like these videos if they're about an interesting level, which this one is. But overall i enjoy your other type of videos more.
I think levels should be as hard to build as to beat. Top players are already torturing themselves to verify some of them, only to be played by no more than 20 players, please at least make them quality levels. That could help with a the over excessive amount of top 1 that are just... there to be there. If a level only gets attraction from its difficulty, you should reconsider it to be an extreme demon.
I agree, zodiac actually was a bit of an anticlimactic level, but people spent ages verifying it.

@@axylon7697 Zodiac is actually really good for being made to be #1, compared to levels like Phobos, Erebus and Gamma.
Zodiac was made soo long ago though, like it was in progression in early early 2.1, it was one of the first extremes of 2.1 to begin creation.
This level's simple in colors only, other things're made good, because you can't see any "soap" in Cherry's collabs, this is one of the hardest things in glow style, it's hard to do it bright and not soapy in same time, that's why the level is good. (Sorry 4 broken Eng)

Firework is a good level imo it's just so hard that it looks ridiculous for everyone
It's pretty decent for me, gameplay is good but way too hard to be enjoyable and the deco is pretty much inconsistent, sometimes good and sometimes not
if it was just a normal top 15 and not a new top 1, its gameplay would probably be very enjoyable compared to like, almost every other top 15

Here are my thoughts. I think the deco is decent. Probably wouldn’t say it’s as good as void wave or shinigami. But it’s better than your average extreme. Gameplay wise, I think the gameplay is ok in terms of visuals but of course is gonna be a nightmare to play. Orte (the gameplay creator of firework) is a really talented gameplay creator. He can make some really cool stuff. But this is one of his worst works in my opinion. Some parts are decent though. He probably had to limit his gameplay ideas just so it can be a top 1 since lots of flow gameplay creators use mechanics that aren’t necessarily difficult but can be eye appealing and consistent to play. Me personally am fine with monochrome levels cuz as long as the colors are good, I like them. If the colors are ugly like in some of JonathanGD’s works, I hate them. I think the color theme was well executed in firework since it feels consistent throughout the whole level. Those are my thoughts. On the video itself, I think it’s a good idea to have level reviews and I’ll watch them. So I suggest continuing doing this. Overall good video
The gameplay is much better than shinigami and a bit better than void wave. The deco is definitely worse but that’s not really important

I overall enjoy monochrome levels,I'm so tired of color and glow that most levels have it's a great way to make you less annoyed by overly colorful levels

Honestly, Firework is probably my favorite level in the game. I think that levels these days have too many colors and too much decoration. Therefore, I love this gray glow style decoration so much. I love watching this level, and I’m the future I will definitely give it a shot and maybe even beat it. The song is also really good, as well as the mysterious theme of it. I don’t really mind the gameplay, as I’m sure it’s not that bad once you get consistent at it. My dream is to one day be the one to verify this level, and I have made a plan for that which I’m honestly quite proud of.
this level just feels like a generic hard demon except EXTREMELY hard kinda like zodiac but zodiac had story this doesnt it feels forced im fine with firework being a hard demon not a top 1 and i agree that top 1s should be like orochi and SWI

Also I don't really think your "it doesn't feel right as a number one demon" point is valid, what you think is subjective. I wouldn't mind it being the number one demon. I get that you are trying to say that the level is less significant, but I still think it deserves the number one spot if someone putes in the time and effort to verify this beast before other harder levels come out, since the demons list is a objective ranking of the difficulty of levels, and not how relavent, cool or flashy levels look. Zodiac was once a top 1 demon, and it didn't have any special things going for the level. And it still "felt" like a good number one.

I feel like the talk about the deco and the name shouldn’t exist. Although yes, there is no obvious theme for the level, and the name may not seem to represent the level at first glance, think of it like music and paining, or other forms of art. The meaning of the level may possibly be what the viewer makes of it, how the name “firework” can fit with the theme in their own mind, it doesn’t have to be obvious. Another theory of mine is that it represents not death, but the shortness of life. All of the decorations are greyscale and spiders/cobwebs, things that are commonly associated with old, and past lives. Fireworks are very short, and pack a powerful punch, but are quickly forgotten with time. This level could be trying to say that the color will fade, and things will grow old. memories will be lost and we have to accept that. in time, the only remanence of humanity will be skeletons, and trying to live will be difficult. Its displaying how life is short, and will eventually make full circle by showing the other end of our time. We currently live in a world full of color, neon signs and phone LED’s but eventually, that wont exist we will live off rations made hundreds of years before, and billions of skeletons will be everywhere. Life is short. Those are my two theory’s. All about interpretation, or its about displaying the shortness of life.

Yeah thats cool and all but i hard disagree. You can pick a better name that would enhance that meaning. I think naming this fireworks was for a joke about how depressing this level is

I think the level could actualy be really fun if it was about top 20 difficulty, i think the main problem with this level is that it is trying to be top 1. I do really like atmosphere this level gives of, its very intimidating imo, but i could use some more colours. Great video!!!

Clearly you weren't around when everyone was trying to knock Bloodbath off of the top spot. Athanatos, Sakupen Hell, Step to hell, every version of Sonic Wave (original, SWI, AB, another one that I can't remember the name of), Bloodlust, Yatagarasu, Low Death, Asmodeus, Blade of Justice. There were a shit ton of levels.

I hate this gatekeeping on the top demons. "Tartarus needs to be #1 cuz it is significant", I don't care, I just wanna see how far geometry dash players can push themselves. See just how far the human body can be pushed towards perfection.
I must disagree. The list is not based on the popularity or quality of the level. Putting a better level than tartarus that's much easier at number one just because it's better is unfair and in my opinion, insults the verifier by downplaying the difficulty. It is a difficulty list, not a quality list.

Somehow people don't give shit to Tartarus for being another shit hell level with boring gameplay, but yet they give shit to Firework for being the first top 1 in years with unique gameplay. Except maybe The Golden. Design wise I agree it is meh
Well then. It seems the level has been finally verified. And it got rated around the same time as Slaughterhouse and Arcturus. Now we'll have to wait and see where they would get placed and which one would end up being the hardest of the three. They'll likely even dethrone Tartarus.
what if they just wanted to make a stupidly difficult level just for the fun of it? not sure why there needs to be any significant meaning? not taking any sides, but i also don't see how or why this controversy was a thing.

With the name "firework" I would expect bright colors, and explosions and not something that can rival gears of War for its usage of the color gray.

Yeah the name is so bad, but maybe thar was on purpose or something. Fireworks is usually happy and shit but this depressing ass black level is the exact opposite
Having played this level for a while now I can confidently say that for the most part, this level’s gameplay is very satisfying to pull off and not hard to learn. The difficulty in this level is solely from timings which make it a very skill based level with the exception of a couple of parts that will be fixed. I truly think that this will be a good number one demon, despite what people who have never played it are saying :)
i generally dont like how nerfing top 1's is being endorsed for the sake of "enjoyment" because if it goes too far then we wont have enough top 1's, but when it comes to firework i agree that it should not be top 1, because of its theme and the gameplay. sync based gameplay is more enjoyable the easier it is.
I think this level would benefit from having some subtle usage of other colors, similar to what "distraught" by Alkali presents. It's mostly grey, but the structures often pulse with various colors and it looks amazing. The completely monochromatic decoration of "Firework" just feels underwhelming and forgettable.

Something absolutely ridiculous about firework from the time it was starting to get verified to when it was verified is that it never got nerfed, it actually got buffed beyond belief

Some interesting facts:
1. Dolphy requested Vernam for Top-1 demon.
2. After finishing Firework, Dolphy said that he won’t verify this level and his request was a joke.
3. After the news about open verification, only a few unknown people were having some nice progress on this level but they dropped it because of difficulty.
nope so dolphy was going to verify firework but as he had verified tartarus in a short period of time, the other people accused him of being a hacker and verman decided not to let him verify the level since he was also betraying him saying he was a hacker and I remove the level ;v

My opinion about this level is a simple one: nowaday creator "Over-use" the top 1, they went to far, and only a few creator like Xender want to create beautiful level. So if Firework got rated, that probably is the level that required the max skill without cheat, creator (i swear) stop to try to make the hardest possible demon, because Firework is simply unbeatable (even harder than Silent Clubstep someone say), so, the level look good to watch, awful to play, but i hope that it got rated and remain number one for ever so creator stop to be so ossessive to the next TOP 1 Demon

@@EE-ro4nz I have just saw Enternal Night and i think the creator Over-Stimated his level. Is less precise than FIrework, is shorter, have breaks, is repetitive (that for players make the level easier, this is way Flappy level are very easy), now i know that is going to be buffed, but the current version seems very easier compared to Firework, Tartarus itself is harder than the current version of Eternal Night (but in my opinion Tartarus is harder than some "Intendet to be TOP 1" upcoming demon like Apocalyptic Trilogy).

It's crazy that only 2 years ago, Firework was considered unbelievably difficult. Now, even after many buffs, it's been verified with several victors and isn't even top 5 anymore. Also Sonic Wave fell out of the top 100 please kill me

I know this is controversial, but I think it looks EPIC. I'm really hyped for it, but It's just my opinion.
the main that frustrates me is people complaining about the deco being low quality. this could very well be because the monochrome greyscale theme doesn't make anything stand out, but taking a closer look you can see that a lot of thought went into the design, and the execution is a lot more high quality than many top 10s. as for what makes a good #1, I think I have to agree with you that the way they pulled it off was their best way of doing it. otherwise, if you want a level that deserves #1, you'd basically be required to have major community figures involved, which is why people see anything from riot, viprin, knob, anything to do with sonic wave as deserving
I think an underrated component of a top 1 demon is the song, for example how zodiac isn’t the best level ever but the song just amazing to listen to. A lot of other hard extremes pick boring songs and as a result get forgotten about very quickly no matter how good they look
the reason i dislike levels like firework is bc they just feel like they werw made for the sole purpose of being no. 1. On the other hand, levels like SWI and the golden are good bc they are actually good levels. extreme demons in general should be levels that are made into extreme challenges, instead of difficulty made into a level
I feel like the Deco kinda gives out the vibe of hopelessness, sadness, and of course, fear.
also, Jesus christ the ship around 80% is a top 50 demon on its own.

fireworks are colorful, and this shit is like a 1920s silent film, totally boring and bland
honestly i think this level will die and be forgetten very quickly, the reason it has no set verifier is because no one wants to play it, and its way too hard and annoying for any sane person to attempt it, as well as it being extremely forgettable
It's probably going to be verified in the upcoming months - maybe before 2.2! Players are improving really quickly!

I have mixed feelings on firework, although I am an absolute fan of the gray monochrome decoration, the gameplay looks really unbalanced. Although I’ve never actually beaten an extreme demon, I’ve done practice runs on multiple top 30 demons and have a decent eye for good and bad gameplay, for instance, the pre-drop looks way harder than the first 10 percent of the drop, then it skyrockets in difficulty. But again, I’ve never beaten an extreme
Don’t really know why anybody cares about the history of a level. As long as it’s good, verified legit, and number 1 demon difficulty it’s fine as a number 1 demon IMO.
About the level’s name, I think I heard something about the title getting lost in translation, and that firework wasn’t meant to be the fireworks that we think of, but I’m not completely sure on how true this is

Maybe it’s named firework because it’s supposed to be the opposite if it for example the level cement where it’s the opposite of the level name

In regards with the title I know this might seem blindingly obvious and a lot of other people have probably picked up on it, but it could just be an ironic statement. Because a firework is bright and colourful but this level is the absence of that soooo idk. But this is just a suggestion and is no way concrete fact.
Dude seriously this length of video is much better for your videos, a lot of other videos of yours are just so long it’s hard to get through but this was much nicer. I would suggest making all your videos this length, it would probably lead to more growth for your channel.
Firework will probably be the next elysium universe. Mostly forgotten by the community, but will likely be verified sooner or later because it has its own charm to it.
Well, fireworks explode in short bursts of light. Life itself can be seen as a short burst of light in the infinite expanse of nothingness which comes after (depending on your beliefs). Either that, or the level name suggests the idea of you life flashing before your eyes before dying.
