- I wanted to share a quick video with you on how to place structures on uneven ground. For example, placing structures on a street that goes up hill or simply placing structures on a hill side. Hope you enjoy the video and happy modeling everyone!!!

Yet another good reason to use a foam base in setting the grades. Thanks Jason!

Hi ya Jason. Another great tip. For those needing to “ seat “ buildings properly on a incline. Thanks,
Thank you so much Norman!!!
Yep! that is why I watch! Always learning, thank You!
I appreciate hearing that! Thank you so much!!!
Thanks for the great video, I’ve been wondering how I was going to do my shops on a hill.
You’re shown me how to get around a problem that I’ve had trouble with… many thanks
Thank you for this video, Jason. To my mind, a proper and realistic installation of a structure onto a layout is just as important as the quality of the structure itself. Your tips, techniques, and comments are always very useful. Cheers from Wisconsin!
Thank you so very much Andrew!!! I really appreciate it!
Thanks Jason, very neat.
Thanks Rick, and thanks for watching!!!

My buddy Jason whipping out a 6 inch razor and asking hourly employees if he can have their scraps; then talking about a "really big discount!" I love it! 😂❤😂

It’s looking so fantastic! You should sell those foundation strips!
Thank you so much Tracy!!! Maybe in the future. Thanks for watching!
Another amazingly informative video. Layout looks great. Can't wait to find time to build your kits. Keep up the content and the detail with your JJT kits.
Thank you so very much Nathan!!! I truly appreciate it!
Very nice helps. Thank you.
Wish that you had a Super Chat or something like that where we can donate some money to you.
Thanks for another enjoyable video. Also, I want to let you know that Lowe's carries 2"X2" squares of styrofoam. Same stuff as the 4"X8" sheets, but much easier to transport in a vehicle.
Thanks for watching Philip and thanks for sharing the tip!!! 👍
@@JasonJensenTrains You're welcome. But sadly, I'm a moron; I wrote 2"X2", (like inches), instead of 2'X2', (like feet). Whoopsie. I'm sure you knew what I meant.
Jason , my next step on my Model Railroad should be to paint clouds on my backgroud walls I love the clouds on your walls behind your layout, i think they are more relist then John Allen's if that is even possible, so could you show how you created them please, Thanks Very Much "RICK LANE"
Jason, you need to do something similar with the front steps/stoops, unless you want to blame the gaps under all of them to settlement/subsidence.
Yes, I still have lots to do. Stay tuned for the next video…
Dang, very good idea. Thanks a bunch. Hahaha, I was thinking why didn’t you vacuum while cutting.
Great idea, just cutting a trench rather than excavating the whole site
Thanks Davie!!! 👍
Thanks for the great video!! BTW our local Home Depot has 2'x2' squares of pink foam for around $7. Search for "Project Panels - Formular 1 in. x 2 ft. x 2 ft. Rigid Foam Board Insulation Sheathing", maybe not available everywhere?
Thanks again Jason! Do you think you might offer a foundation accessory package for sale in the future? Always informative and inspirational!
Thank you so much!!! It’s a possibility! 👍
@@JasonJensenTrains count me in!
Great video, thanks Jason. Question for you. You do the stippled effect with a sponge to simulate pealing or 'missing' paint. How would go about doing that with signs? Would that have to be something you would do in Photoshop before you printed them out? Cheers.
nice
Thank you so much Joe!!!
Hi Jason! Great You keep posting videos which I absolutely don't miss! You kind of suggest that styrofoam can only be used for modeling sidewalks in ho/n scale? Couldn't it be used for making concrete sidewalks or asphalt roads in O scale? My scale is O and I like that material a lot!
Keep up Your good job!
RR
How do modelers keep up with dust? I've just started the hobby and am concerned about sucking up little details vs accumulating cobwebs.
I will ask again, now that youre doing kits. How about some sheets of signs?? Most of us dont have the skill to make these. Like the coffee shop sign and dance hall sign in this video. Your last kit with the big spark plug. That's what my layout is missing, cool signs. And they will sell in all scales, a fairly big sign in HO is a medium size in O. I think they would be big sellers.
Is there a reason you used Styrofoam vs the pink foam.
The cost! My entire layout is covered in white inexpensive styrofoam and It all gets completely covered with scenery. I use the pink for concrete since it is more expensive and it is the perfect scale texture for HO scale concrete.
you might want to get your PW dept to fix those side-walks - lots of missing bricks !
LOL!!! Thanks for watching! 👍
My concrete with the paste definitely isn’t out of scale. If you want to have a conversation nail holes would be considered out of scale and use them on your structures.
LOL!!!! Thank you so much for watching! 👍
IDK I think he's right, I've tried it too and it's totally out of scale...
Just like real construction, excavate a bit until you get it flat
