Seems like the older you get the more you appreciate everything it's no longer about this one sounding better than that one they all have their own unique Vibe and sound. But I still really love P90 pickups the best.
well i bought the affinity about 3 years ago, had sharp fret ends and really wasnt very good sound . but ok for the price. last month i bought the classic vibe 50s in the original burst color and oh what a difference it is. mine weighs 9 pounds it plays beautiful, sounds beautiful and i love the neck and fret board i maple. to me no comparison. 50s vibe is classy and much better guitar. and im a gibson les paul player from 1976 when i got my first one. i bought these just for something different to play, but ill be honest i love the 50s vibe. great guitar
I just bought one this week and it's an amazing guitar. In the store the difference between the CV and the affinity was purely sound and feel preference.
Good comparison review. Now, knowing how different they are, I want to get both! 😂 9:29 Affinity Clean 13:00 CV Clean 11:15 Affinity Dirty 14:38 CV Dirty
I had a Telecaster Affinity that wasn't to good. If I had upgraded the pickups and tuner's, it would have been a nice guitar. I gave it to my daughter's husband. I didn't feel like upgrading it. I do have a American Deluxe Strat and a Mexican strat that both really play nice. I did think about (and still do) getting a vibe. Good video Joe.
I just bought a CV60 Strat and love it. I compensate for the tackiness of the neck with Finger-Ease. But what I really like is that out of the box, very little adjustments are required. The fret ends are smooth, so I’m not going to bother with using a fret file on them. I will be checking the neck relief, action, and pickup height, but like I said above,I don’t expect to do anymore than slight tweaking. Same with the intonation. If you can afford the extra $200 in price, the CV is a very good guitar for the money.
I have the squire affinity left handed with the big headstock I like it great sound I also have SX stratocaster it has more out put except the fender has less out put better made as far as playing ability I know how to fix and set up on them the fender action came way to low with fret buzz so I adjusted the truss rod higher better playability I been singing and playing over 50 years locally my one gig I had was at a country club lounge eight years in south Florida
The Affinity has a bit brighter sound, it's the influence of the wood and a bit of the pickup. I find it more versatile. The Classic Vibe from 2018 are lower quality than the previous generation (2021). It also has a slightly darker sound. I tried a Strat and a Tele Affinty new generation, they are very well built. They replace the Vintage Modified well. Do you agree ?
I'd go affinity and add mods compared to the price of the vibe and have a better guitar than both. Jmo. I'm really not a strat guy so i really shouldn't be commenting. Great video Joe for showing the differences. It should help everyone looking at these guitars.
Hey Joe :I have both the strat and the tele, strat is 2010,tele is 2014 both are made in CHINA CV`S Both are PINE bodies both have ALNICO 5 pickups and both are 50`s. Sound and play GREAT.In my opinion the early CHINA made SQUIRE CV`S are better than INDONISHIA made CV or AFINATY. To do a proper comparison you should have a better amp.Otherwise good review.
I have ten guitars my favorite is the latest guitar I bought a gretsch streamliner left handed my other favorite guitar is agile cool cat jumbo jazz guitar looks like a Gibson L5
Hello, when you talk about the body of the Affinity (poplar) , maybe you are referring to the models made in recent years. I have a 2004 Affinity and the wood of its body is Alder.
O one more thing before I bought the gretsch I bought a LYX telecaster maple neck even has telecaster vintage style bridge great sound great action also very in expensive guitar
Hmmm,,,,,,I thought the 60s vibe was nyotoh and the 50s vibe was pine. Could be wrong. Regardless, the Classic Vibes are fabulous values. Thanks for the video
Look like you're having a lot of fun me I have health problems makes it a little depressing when get to 74 you have to force yourself self in playing all though the guitar is good therapy that helps a lot I just to force myself in playing more
Do you want that Twang and sound like Stevie Ray vaughan. Or do you want that little thicker sound and sound like Eric clapton. There's your difference. Joe you're up early. Of course I guess it's after 9:00 in New York we're an hour behind you here where it's central time in arkansas. Have a fantastic weekend buddy. Be safe out there.
@@AJgeartalk me too joe. I usually pass out on the couch between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. wake up around 1:00 a.m. then go to bed and I'm usually up by 4:30 or 5:00 a.m. lol.

They definitely have a sound "all their own"! Be well Danny.
Definitely, i used to be on a search for the end all be all guitar, but now i realize there is no such thing.
I have no idea why people go on about a bone nut over plastic just swap it out they don't cost much

Excellent demo. Thank you so much. Just bought a 50's vibe and love it. Take care. From UK.
Thank you for watching!
Nice comparison video. Classic Vibe is a much nicer guitar IMO. But of course, it is more expensive.
Have you seen the new 2024 affinity squires? They have upgraded them quite a lot.
I just bought one this week and it's an amazing guitar. In the store the difference between the CV and the affinity was purely sound and feel preference.
@xXpistagXx Nice one! I'm tossing up if I should get a CV tele or a Affinity. I saw one with a nice flammed maple top...
Good comparison review. Now, knowing how different they are, I want to get both! 😂

I think it is hard to beat the value of the affinity.
I have both. They are nice for the cost. I’m looking for pickups for the Affinity
What did you end up putting in it?
Both are excellent guitars. I love squire. I truly do.

Thank You very much from Germany!
Remember the old Standard Series? They also had a 2-post tremolo.....plus a full thickness body and a 22-fret neck.
And alnico pickups. I have a Squier Standard Tele with the full-thickness body and 22-fret neck.

Do you agree ?
Yes- agreed!
A big difference you didn't mentioned is that the body of the Affinity is 38mm tick, while the Classic Vibe has a full-size 45mm body. 😉
40mm on the 2023 guitar I've got, same as my 2021 bullet both good guitars
My most expensive guitar is Epiphone Les Paul standard 50s with the vintage tuning keys
Well done.
Thanks Jim!

Totally agree with your on the amp. To do a proper comparison i need to have a lot of "better" things! Be well my friend.
Can you tell us which one has the neck with the best/easiest payability ? Thanks 😊
Both have thin necks with easy playability. The CV neck hac a gloss and the affinity is more satin in finish.
Hey Joe... What flavour amp do you use? Do you use pedals? If so what types? I would love to see a video about your home rig )).
Hey Carl. My home rig is hardly a "rig"! I just use a Positive Grid Spark 40 (40watt) combo amp. Plenty good for my abilities. Hope you are well!

Yes- current model. Affinities have used several different woods since their inception.
I do variation of all kinds of music from 40s to 70s few from the 80s
O one more thing before I bought the gretsch I bought a LYX telecaster maple neck even has telecaster vintage style bridge great sound great action also very in expensive guitar

Current CV 50/60 Strats are Nyatoh. CV 50's Tele is Pine.

I'm a native from New York city originally
Classic vibe tuners are junk. And I dislike narrow tall fretts
I have yet to hear a native speaker of English pronounce "nyatoh" correctly.
Sounds like that is a huge disappointment to you!

As a native speaker of Malay, I find it absolutely heartbreaking.
@@amirkhalid5449 There are some really great Malaysian websites on YT. This is not one of them.....
