    • @brillopad6901

      @aug91974 8 лет назад +5

      Wellll, these videos were made specificially for Nintendo employees, so I don't see how it would have any impact on hardware sales. But in general, I think Wii U would have done signficantly better if Nintendo had even bothered with marketing the thing, and if it hadn't been called Wii U, and if it were cheaper, and on and on. Pretty much everything Nintendo did with Wii U was the opposite of what they should have done. Great games on that system, though, which is a miracle considering how badly it did at market.

    • @mario4everd
      @mario4everd 8 лет назад

      and this is why the wii u wasn't marketed right, people like brill don't know that the system had really great regular controllers and just assumed you just used the gamepad.

    • @TedManney
      @TedManney 9 лет назад +2

      +chownful And you're proud of this closed-mindedness? Most of the best gameplay in the world can be found on Nintendo platforms, you're missing out. If for some reason violence is your main priority in playing games, you've got tons of great stuff on Nintendo platforms like Resident Evil 4/Revelations, Ninja Gaiden 3, Fatal Frame, Walking Dead, Bayonetta, any Call of Duty, just to name a few. Plus, you think anyone from Nintendo is going to be reading through the comments of this random video? Most current Nintendo employees didn't even work for the company in 1993.

    • @chownful
      @chownful 9 лет назад +1

      +TedManney I certainly do not expect them to read or care about my opinion. They are apparently successful with their own operating procedures, so that's good for them and their demographic. There are not that many M-rated games that are exclusive to current Nintendo gaming systems. I do enjoy other types of video games that do not have much violence, but I don't see the point in buying a whole new gaming system just to play a handful of titles. They explicitly say in the video "...strict standards they have to keep games fun for the family". I am a young adult male with no children or other family members that play video games, so I am not their target demographic. How is this close-minded? I just don't think that Nintendo offers what I want.

      Yeah, I'm surprised Nintendo didn't advertise those features of the Game Boy when Sega was badmouthing the Game Boy for not having color when they marketed the Game Gear, I can even see a commercial go like this:
      (Fades in to regular High School/Middle School classroom as the bell rings, with multiple students entering including "Rock'n Dude"-esc teen with a Sonic the Hedgehog shirt, a Bald, Glasses-using, White Shirt with Black Tie & Kakki's wearing, Monotone speaking Teacher is Teaching the class)
      -Monotone Teacher: Good Morning Class, Welcome to Comparison 101, today will be comparing the Sega Game Gear and the Game Boy from Nintendo, let's begin...
      (Monotone Teacher pulls down one of those pull down wall screen sheets that features visual examples of the first question)
      -Monotone Teacher: Question #1: Game Boy has games in Black-&-White, Game Gear has games in Color, which is better?
      (Sonic Shirt Teen points and laughs like a stereotypical 90s dude)
      -Sonic Shirt Teen: Uhuhuh... Game Gear of course
      -Monotone Teacher: Correct, point goes to Game Gear...
      (Sonic Shirt Teen acts cocky for a second while brushing his shirt, Monotone points at the chalkboard where it features visual examples of the second question with a big pointer stick)
      -Monotone Teacher: Question #2: Game Gear weighs 2.79 lbs and can't fit in your pocket, Game Boy weighs 10.6 oz and can fit in your pocket, which is better?
      (Sonic Shirt Teen looks a little confused)
      -Sonic Shirt Teen: Game Boy?
      -Monotone Teacher: Correct, point goes to Game Boy...
      (cut to lights going dim and projector being played showing slides of the visual examples of the third question with Monotone Teacher pressing the button to change slides)
      -Monotone Teacher: Question #3: Game Boy uses 4 AA-Batteries and lasts up to 30 hours, Game Gear uses 6 AA-Batteries and last up to 3-4 hours, which is better
      (Sonic Shirt Teen looks completely confused now)
      -Sonic Shirt Teen: Uh...
      (Cut to footage of various Game Boy games that were around in 1993 playing on screen with some scenes of a kid playing Game Boy, with a casual 90s announcer speaking)
      -Casual 90s Announcer: Sure, Nintendo's Game Boy may not have color like the Sega Game Gear, but when you consider Portability, Weight, and More Time Playing & Less Time Changing and Buying Batteries, you got to ask yourself...
      (cuts to stand still photos of Game Boys standing up for photos)
      -Casual 90s Announcer: ...what's more important?
      (cuts back to to the classroom)
      -Monotone Teacher: In Conclusion, which system is better, Game Boy or Game Gear?
      (cut to Sonic Shirt Teen looking completely dumbfounded)
      -Sonic Shirt Teen: Can you repeat the question?
      (Cut to a slam of a book with a logo saying "Game Boy from Nintendo", and then ends with the Sonic Shirt Teen staying after class and writing "PLAY IT LOUD" over and over again on the chalkboard)

    I think.its crazy that Nintendo was so concerned about violence in video games until the sega genesis version of Mortal Kombat 1 outsold Nintendo 3:1. From that point forward, they would include violence in every MK sequel going forward proving that the bottom line is way more important than any family values they gave the perception of having.

    • @TheMGMfan
      @TheMGMfan 7 лет назад +1

      It was 1993, and the N64 came out in 1996. Even with the fact that it was delayed a year, they probably didn't even finish a prototype, let alone a system that can be used. It's kinda like the new Metroid Prime 4 announcement, it didn't show any gameplay, probably because there wasn't anything to show because they just started development.
