@@Meatball2022 your a lot of fun at parties, huh. Who cares about the ideals one the one who created the song. Just like with everything, the meanings of things change with time. Even if the creator was a terrible person, the fact that the song brings people together and nearly all Americans see it positively as a symbol of prosperity completely negates whatever the intentions were of its creator. Unity is a good thing and camaraderie is a good thing, and spreading division with statement like this is the cause of the majority of this countries problems.

Awesome cover you guys, you nailed this!!! You know, America is in a rough place right now, and I don't think we can deny that. There is so much going wrong and so much getting worse, however despite all of that I am still proud to be an American because being here in the states is still a blessing. There is a reason why despite all of her flaws, people from all over the world seek refuge in the USA. Despite all of her shortcomings, people look to the USA for help. She's got a lot of problems, but she is a symbol of hope for billions of people all over the globe who would love to trade places with us, and I believe a lot of times in our bickering and our insignificant squabbles with those around us we tend to forget that and take it for granted. Should we do better, absolutely and we should work towards correcting a lot of this countries short comings. But, the fact we can have people from every walk of life here within these boarders, and for the most part are able to coexist along side each other without to much issue despite many of which being brought up to be enemies of each other is a pretty powerful thing. It's something that is strictly an American characteristic. So, lets remember to take care of one another, stay together in our communities and as a nation, and show some appreciation for the small things we take for granted because despite everything it could be a whole lot worse.

After not knowing my father for 44 yrs I found out that he had died.. so, I went to his grave only to find that he was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Airforce during the Vietnam war area. The man came into my life being just a name and left my life being just a name, I have so many questions that will go unanswered. This song means a lot to me every time I heard the original version but now knowing about my dad and what he all did this new version means more to me than before. God Bless The U.S.A and thank you to all who have and are serving to keep us safe and protected from our Military to our Police, Fire and EMTs, the Doctors & Nurses.. without any of them we would not be the country we are today.
This song became very dear to all Americans after 9/11. I knew that I was going to cry when I watched this. Balled like a baby that loves her country to pieces.
Same. This song has always reminded me of my grandpa because he was the most patriotic person that I have ever known. He cried when he heard this song or the National Anthem. He served in the US Navy in the 50s, and the 4th of July was his favorite holiday. When i was a small child (I'm now 43) I remember him driving across the country to visit us in West Texas from Long Island, New York every single 4th of July. When he arrived, we would all go to the firework stand & he would completely fill up his car trunk with all of the fireworks that we picked out. Then we would spend the evening celebrating the 4th with him. He passed away almost 20 years ago, but those core memories live on every 4th of July. I know that September 11th hit him especially hard. You guys did an amazing job covering this song. The memories that started from the first note to the tears that were flowing down my cheeks when the cymbal crashed says it all. Thank you for covering this song just in time for Independence Day! GOD BLESS YOU GUYS & GOD BLESS THE USA!

If I were to put into a word that makes up America and its spirit, it's hope. A hope for a better future, for safety, for kindness, and for unity. No matter where I go, or whatever issues I have with the way things are going, the US will always be my home and I want the best for it and all who share this place with me. It's where I grew up, got my first job, went to school, forged the best friendships in the world, and it's where my family who risked so much for me calls home. My hope is that one day we can all come together, no matter what walk of life we're from, and look out for one another. No matter your race, religion, ability, orientation, age, occupation, economic status, political leaning, we're all Americans and we have to look out for one another. Our diversity, passion, and grit is what gives us our strength. There's a stereotype that Americans are selfish and pigheaded. And I won't deny that some of us are. But I've never been in the company of stronger and kinder people than my fellow proud and hardworking countrymen. Like all places, there's good and bad. We have a ways to go, but at the end of the day, I'm proud to be an American. May you all find that hope and beauty, cuz there ain't no doubt I love this land. Bless you all, and the USA

The first time I heard this song was the day after 9/11. I was still a bit young and didn't really understand the message behind it or what was really going on, but this song still hit me pretty hard even back then. Just the meaning behind this song and the heart of it hits hard even to those who don't understand. People in the government need to listen to this again, they seem to forget everything that happened, everything that made America well America in the first place, they definitely forgot what the flag stands for. I’m 24 and I still haven’t forgot all the men who died for our country to be free
I am 34 and have spent time asking myself the same question. Then I started to look more into it. Sadly, they are either paid off by corporations or are psychopaths. It is a deep depressing rabbit hole. They only care about themselves and 99.9% of them would never send a family member off to a war they support.
So they won’t have a change of perspective. Americans need to have a change culturally before good leaders are elected again.
Neither party has your best interests in mind. The two party system has been manipulated to the point that both partys' purpose is to keep the public divided and arguing so that they remain ignorant to the fact that the same money supports both sides. Stop shutting people out because of their political affiliation. End the divisiveness.
