Same. I just woke my baby girl up and held her tight. My 11 year old wasn’t really having it since she was on her iPhone but I made her hug me anyways, and my 14 year old! Dang, this song kills me..especially coming from a broken home where I saw many a fist fights..drug abuse, stuff I won’t ever even talk about but I had great parents..they just weren’t good for each other and I will never put my baby girls through that.
"911 operator, what's your emergency?" "I was just assaulted by a song!?" "Was it John Michael Montgomery?" "Yes...?" *distant yell* "That's 9,578,554,231 Paul, first round is on you!"
I get chills every time I hear the song or see the video. “I know that man up there on that cross I don’t know his name but I know he got off”. Chills every time cause I believe they could totally happen. Another good one by John Micheal Montgomery “letters from home”.
First time I heard this song I cried...I can't imagine not hugging or kissing my daughter everyday...telling her I love her...I still cry when I hear this song...I have no doubts that she was held by Him. He protected her ❤
This song gives me chills to the point of shivers. "I know that man up there on that cross. I don't know his name, but I know he got off." I believe this has happened, does happen and will happen until Jesus returns. I heard the testimony of a girl that had been kept in a closet for most all of her young years. Once she was rescued and was interviewed, she was ask what she did all that time locked in that filthy closet. She said she waited for the man on the ceiling to visit her. She was ask what happened then. She said they would sing song. When ask what song, she said they sung Jesus Loves Me. Now, this young girl did not know Jesus and she did not know that song. For she had spent her very young life until she was rescued in the closet cut off from everything.
No,no, no..ooops, you already watched. I grew-up in this environment, when this song hit the radio, I couldn’t listen to it...first time listening all the way through. Thank you Billy, I heard the good at the end.
The first time I heard this I was with an army buddy. When I think about it, it must have been comical gold to see us both trying to cry in front of each other. I still cry when I hear it. [Edit] Trying NOT to cry.
Sometimes God has to take away for something good to happen I cry everytime I hear this song Jesus kept the little girl safe because he knew that it had to be that way for the little girl to be happy and healthy
😭😭😭I know what that’s like. god I’m so freakin blessed my aunt and uncle took me in 😭💛 they really are my parents. The abuse. no child deserved to see that. ever. ever.
I believe in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. I also know that the word "church" is misused by most people. The word church in the bible is not defined as a place. Church is a people. All believers in Christ are a church. Again not a PLACE where we GO but a RELATIONSHIP we ACHIEVE. We are the church and He is all we need.
I agree. Though being around a group of believers to learn and lean on is amazing. Doesn’t mean it is in a building. It could be anywhere that gets you close to God ☺️❤️
Christians believe you're saved threw a relationship with jesus, I believe church is good cause we need to be around other believers. It's helps our relationship grow. But church is where the people are, not the building itself. I think it's good to tell the difference. As the Bible said, come together and worship.
AMEN!!! Going to church don't make anyone a good Christian any more then standing in a garage makes anyone a car!!!! That being said, I have faith, I am not religious!!!
This legitimately made me tear up the first dozen times I heard it. Not trying to be macho but I don’t tear up much. “Letters from Home” is another great JMM song that made me tear up as well. Saw him live in the small town of Wellington Ks a few years ago and he killed it!
Songs like this are why I love 90s Country! Other great songs by JMM are Friends, No Man’s Land, How Was I To Know, I Can Love You Like That, I Swear, I Love The Way You Love Me, Rope The Moon, If You’ve Got Love, Be My Baby Tonight, Hold On To Me, and Life’s a Dance. Thanks Billy!!!
Life's a dance you learn as you go.. sometimes you lead sometimes you follow.. don't worry about what you don't know. . Life's a dance we learn as we go!
Country will hit you in the feels every other hour. The radio be messing my day up by throwing out a Martina McBride song or something lol or even just a regular song, making me thing about lost love or unanswered prayers Thank God for music.
When I first heard this song, I thought it was a beautiful song, but since then I have been saved and it has so much more meaning for me now. It just gives me chills.
I am a Christian and I believe in God & Jesus and I love this song. It always made me realize people go through stuff that you don't see but God does & he loves you no matter what you've done or been through. God loves you and have a blessed day!
the intro to this song gets me every time. No matter how many times I hear this it will always cause me to get goosebumps. this is the country music that I grew up with and this is the country music I wish was more popular today.
This video hits close to home for me. My childhood was horrible and I promise God got me through it. That is the only way I could have survived. And I was lucky enough to get adopted by wonderful people
The first time I heard this song I teared up. This time hearing it, I teared up. Every freaking time I've heard this song in between one teared up too.
My baby sister is adopted and the first couple years of her her life weren’t great.. our parents are amazing.. I tear up every time I hear this but then I smile
This is such a bittersweet song and sad that not all of these stories have a happy ending. For me, I can honestly and emphatically say that it is possible to know for sure that Jesus is with you in the middle of a tragedy. It was true for me. Thanks Billy, for sharing this video.
This actually happened to someone i grew up with. Everytime i hear this song i just bawl because i think of her and how this situation happened to her and her sister
I believe when someone dies that you love, their soul and inner light never leaves you...they look over you...and that girl behind the couch had that upper power surrounding her..
The earliest memory I have is my sister and me ( I'm the youngest) we were hiding behind the door frame of our room and watched as my mom's bf at the time held a shot gun to her head i still can hear and see the panic on her face ( i was maybe 4) ..she told us to run and i slid under his legs to go outside and we ran ...our uncle was a cop and he stopped it ..my mom then got a new bf who would go on to be married to her for 18 years and during that time when he got drunk ...he broke her skull...threw her down stairs...eyet she stayed...we begged her not to but she stayed...she then met an amazing man who doesn't even cuss... And he has been her savior but now she treats him how she was treated and I have to tell her ...true love doesn't hurt that he isn't them he won't hurt her ....it's a crazy cycle it's heart breaking ....everyone.. man , woman , child, deserves to feel both safe and loved in a relationship... We cannot change the past but i refuse to let the cycle continue the good that came from it is all is i learned how not to live...i got to see what poor and selfish choices does to people and life... I learned alot which has placed me on this beautiful path i am now on ...everything does happen fot a reason
I still cry like a baby at this song (just like I do to all like it). I'm a mother and grandmother now so any song involving children gets to me too Billy. I love when BYSE joins us. Love a man who can cry and show emotions. You are, after all; only human and have a heart. God bless you.
Wow. This old lady was bawling her eyes out. Not just for the hard time the little girl went through, but what those parent's life choices ultimately lead to. I always look at it this way...what started this all off? Were the parent's abused? I still think that the parent's were adults and old enough to know better, but maybe not equipped for the job. Nevertheless, NO child should have to go through any of that. No sir. JMJ said it just perfectly and made it such a touching song. You're the best, Billy! Happy Monday!
A very good lesson I heard from a preacher who said: Remember ONLY god can create something from nothing, and think about that. Therefore, evil never comes from nothing. it always, always spreads. It propogates. It begets itself, but it never comes from nothing, never from out of nowhere. Only god creates something from nothing.
I was saddened by the beginning of the song, but the end warmed my heart. I am a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have no problem saying this as I am secure in my faith in God and His Son.
First off Bill thank you for your service to our country. thank you for not being too proud to show your emotions about people who hurt children. I thought I was the only one that got it emotional and cried butit's good to see others are emotional as well as I am . Thank you and God bless you
Its nice to see him get emotional when he is watching this because i can relate to what he’s feeling i use play it to remember family members who left this world a long time ago
It is powerful, the end of the song gets me every time. I do believe in prayer and I believe it works. The vision of Jesus keeping her safe when so much evil is going on around her. Another great song thanks again for sharing. It is one of the saddest songs in country music.
It is such a blessing watching you discover songs that touch you and allow you to feel God’s touch through some of these songs as well as your emotional responses to so many! It’s one thing that makes us appreciate your reaction videos and enjoy them so much and allows us to be blessed at the same time!
This made me cry! When involves children it is heart breaking!! I truly believe you don't have to go to church to believe in GOD! I have tried over the years many denominational churches and found each one had their own agenda. I read the bible on my own,and I have an extreme love for God and his word. You keep it honest in your reactions and I love it!! Never change!!!!
Love this song, thanks Billy, 1st time I heard this song I bawled it hit hard, My Mom was a Fostet Mom and she always said, she had to give each child a life time of love because she never knew what would happen when they left us, God Bless everyone ❤
Now time for concrete angel- Martina McBride I loved how the very end “I swear” started and that version is my first dance with my husband at our wedding. This song still makes me cry ever since I first heard it as a little girl in the 90s. I believe in god, i believe in the goddess, and I believe in reincarnation, I believe that “angels” are gods as well. I am complicated
Love this song but makes me cry every time I hear it. Makes me sad, makes me happy, so many emotions when I hear this song. I knew the moment you said you did not want to cry on a Monday, that you would be crying on a Monday when I saw what song you were reacting to. .. I am not a religious person but do believe in God and look at myself as spiritual person. Don't hold much faith in church and religion but do hold a lot of faith in God and his word. i bet you hugged your little girl after emotional videos like this.
This is why everytime I get a new phone the 1st thing I do is find you and subscribe again. I love your thought process and the eclectic reactions you do.
John Michael Montgomery is one of those artists that can write a song that will tear your heart out and fill you with sadness, but then he pulls you back and give you hope by the end of the song.
I'm a Christian Billy. The first time I heard this song was many years ago and it was very moving and still is. John is a great storyteller whether it's upbeat feel good or a touching song. I enjoy your reactions. Keep em coming.
I'm a believer: always have been, always will be. He has seen me and my family through some extremely trying, rough times. The things he does and continues to do for me and my family are extraordinary, to say the absolute least 💜
"Don't have me crying on this Monday!" 🤦 Abort mission, Billy! Abort mission!! 🤣😂
Yes, b/c any song with a child especially with any kind of abuse is a NONO if you don't wanna be cryin' and if it's country, it's worse!
After the first time hearing this I pulled the truck over and hugged my kids while I balled my eyes out
I sat in a grocery store parking lot to listen to the end the first time I heard it. Still cry every time I hear it or think of it. So powerful.
Aaaww
Same. I just woke my baby girl up and held her tight. My 11 year old wasn’t really having it since she was on her iPhone but I made her hug me anyways, and my 14 year old! Three Wooden Crosses by Randy Travis gets me every time
I love that song ❤❤
Me too. First heard that song the day my daughter was laid to rest
An amazing song to react go!!
Great song. And that one won't make me ugly cry like the last 4 I have watched.
It's not often i see a comment about my favorite country artist. That has nothing to do with anything. Just thought I'd share.
"911 operator, what's your emergency?"
"I was just assaulted by a song!?"
"Was it John Michael Montgomery?"
"Yes...?"
*distant yell* "That's 9,578,554,231 Paul, first round is on you!"
Thanks for the belly laugh!
ROFLMAO
Best comment I’ve read in a long time
I get chills every time I hear the song or see the video. “I know that man up there on that cross I don’t know his name but I know he got off”. Chills every time cause I believe they could totally happen. Another good one by John Micheal Montgomery “letters from home”.
I love "Letters From Home", right up there with "If You're Reading This" and "Arlington".
Same ❤
I totally agree.
The love & protection Jesus has always stood for
Any new comments in 2021?
First time I heard this song I cried...I can't imagine not hugging or kissing my daughter everyday...telling her I love her...I still cry when I hear this song...I have no doubts that she was held by Him. He protected her ❤
In my 41 years of life, I've come to 2 inescapable truths: 1, there is a God. 2, I ain't Him.
Amen. That will preach.
RUDY!! RUDY!!! RUDY!!!
I believe in God and His blessed Son Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world for all who will accept His free gift of salvation!
This song gives me chills to the point of shivers. "I know that man up there on that cross. I don't know his name, but I know he got off." 😢🥺🥺
This is such a good song, Love 💘 it... God bless the little Children....

I grew up in this as well, ended up running away. Now I'm involved with my church and have 2 boy's and happily married for 21years now❤ God is GREAT
The first time I heard this I was with an army buddy. When I think about it, it must have been comical gold to see us both trying to cry in front of each other. I still cry when I hear it.
[Edit] Trying NOT to cry.
“Don’t have me crying this Monday.”
Me: ................................brace yourself, Billy
Sometimes God has to take away for something good to happen I cry everytime I hear this song Jesus kept the little girl safe because he knew that it had to be that way for the little girl to be happy and healthy
😭😭😭I know what that’s like. god I’m so freakin blessed my aunt and uncle took me in 😭💛 they really are my parents.
The abuse. no child deserved to see that. ever. ever.
I cracked up when you said "don't make me cry this Monday. Right, good luck with that.
Okay back to the video.
Amen,he's the biggest hero.he came and save the hole world and future days
I tear up every time I hear this song. So well wrote and played. Strong message!!
I do believe in god! However I don’t believe you have to congregate in a church to be a loving, compassionate, honest god fearing person!
I believe in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. I also know that the word "church" is misused by most people. The word church in the bible is not defined as a place. Church is a people. Do you think you would believe in a different god if you were born in Ancient Greece?
This legitimately made me tear up the first dozen times I heard it. Not trying to be macho but I don’t tear up much. “Letters from Home” is another great JMM song that made me tear up as well. Saw him live in the small town of Wellington Ks a few years ago and he killed it!

I've never heard this before, I thought I could watch this and be OK. Gesus this was way more than I expected. I'm gonna go gather myself. 😢😔

Every time I hear this song I start bawling because we don’t know what people are going through behind closed doors
When I first heard this song, I thought it was a beautiful song, but since then I have been saved and it has so much more meaning for me now. It just gives me chills.

Exactly! It’s a sad but beautiful story that sadly happens way too often in this world!
God is everywhere, especially in the middle of the storm. You are never alone.
This video hits close to home for me. My childhood was horrible and I promise God got me through it. That is the only way I could have survived. And I was lucky enough to get adopted by wonderful people

Seen john michael in concert a few times. In fact, just this last summer. He has a few songs like this one that'll make you think. Great live voice!

I cried, I cry just about everytime I listen to it. Sometimes I prepare myself but most of the time, I cry
I've heard it a hundred times and tear up every time

First off Bill thank you for your service to our country.

This made me cry! When involves children it is heart breaking!! I truly believe you don't have to go to church to believe in GOD! The first time I heard this, I cried, and I don't cry easily at all.
I understand and love this song so much. I can relate to the little girl's pain and struggle.
I believe God is always with you for protection as He was with this little girl
I don't have a religion. I have a faith and a relationship. I'm perfectly comfortable telling everyone about that 🙏 May the Lord bless you!
Amazing and beautiful song
First hearing it gave me goose bumps and choked me up and still does to this day.
The 1st time I heard this song, I cried like a baby. It still tears me up! Powerful song.
Amen.
This song gets me every time

Chills… every time.
Now time for concrete angel- Martina McBride
I loved how the very end “I swear” started and that version is my first dance with my husband at our wedding.
This song still makes me cry ever since I first heard it as a little girl in the 90s.
I believe in god, i believe in the goddess, and I believe in reincarnation, I believe that “angels” are gods as well. I am complicated
Amanda Hibbs nothing wrong with that sister!
Love this song but makes me cry every time I hear it. Makes me sad, makes me happy, so many emotions when I hear this song. I still cry even after all these years later.
This is why everytime I get a new phone the 1st thing I do is find you and subscribe again. I love your thought process and the eclectic reactions you do.
I've known this song for years and years and it still hits me hard everytime. I don't think you can't feel when you hear this song
Chills every time
The ending gives me chills every single time
Truly powerful.
I love hos this ended. Think this will make me cry every time I watch it.
I feel it everytime I hear it.
We would take that baby in a heartbeat! Our home has room for more to love!!
I was bawling by the end the first 10 times I watched it
I'm a believer: always have been, always will be. He has seen me and my family through some extremely trying, rough times. The things he does and continues to do for me and my family are extraordinary, to say the absolute least 💜
I fell in love with country from this song. And Yes; I believe in God and go to church.
I've heard this song a thousand times and it still gets me as emotional as when I heard it the 1st time
I am Christian. I do believe in God. This is a very sad but pretty song.
I bawled my eyes out
