They call you haul !! You and Mr Wilbur do it all !!! Great job 👏 👍
Fishpolice 150 I like that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
It was so nice of Mr Wilbert to deliver the customers weeds for them!!! 🤣😅😂
Mr Mike That is funny. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Hal I like how you and Mr. Wilbert always work together. Hal you also have a unique way of asking questions that kind of sound like a suggestion but the other guy still has to make a choice. It’s rather hard to explain but I know it when I hear it. It really is a good thing. I’m so glad I found your channel. I see the gloves are working out good. Stay cool you two.
Mr Otto Thank you. I am doing better keeping up with them. Thanks for viewing and commenting. Stay safe.
I have to admit as long as ive been around heavy equipment ive never seen a pan towed behind a 50 ton wrecker ......impressive
Mr James thanks for watching and stay safe
Sure didn’t look like that front bumper was strong enough for that lift, but it made it. I am amazed at the various things your company is called on to recover. Your channel is really interesting because of that.
Mr John We appreciate that. Thanks for watching our videos and stay safe
Very unusual
tow, thanks to you and Mr. Wilbert for video.
Mr. John. Thanks. Now we know we can tow this machine if our landoll is out of town. Thanks for viewing and commenting. Stay safe
I laughed watching that fellow unwind that ratchet binder. My luck would be slap myself in the snut with it. Good video.
Mr James thanks for watching and stay safe
This was most definitely a unique tow that you DON'T see very often!
PNW RC Thanks for viewing and commenting. Hope you enjoyed the video.
@@SumterWrecker We enjoyed it very much
You did good towing that pan for it being a first time. Enjoyed watching!
Mr Terry We appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Thank you, Mr. Hal, for this video. Two professionals, respecting and learning from each other. In Germany we've learned in the last months from our media, that whites and blacks in the US don't get along anymore. Remembering Minnesota, for instance. But you and Mr. Wilbur show how to do it the right way. I'm just a parcel deliverer in Germany, we are getting similar "circumstances" in our country, in my profession, young guys imigrating from Arabia, Africa and poor Southern European countries. You show how do it! I'll try my best. Thumbs up!
Mr Steffen I don't see color. Just a hard working man. Thanks and stay safe
Yes , the "media" would have you believe that there is total chaos in the streets here in the states but that's just " Bull " . Yes
there are issues as in all countries , but the "Norm" is just that , "Norm" . Thank you " Media ".
Mr Bill thanks for watching and stay safe
That is a big piece of equipment.Good job & stay safe
Mr Norman thanks and thanks for watching. Stay safe
I know where you are I used to live in sumter, I still live in S.C . good job moving the pan I used to operate one of bigger pans like 631 and the and the 641 and the euclud double barrels and the cat double barrels and tower cranes and all other kind of cranes I heard they were closing the air base at sumter, that is going to be hard on sumter but that was a good video keep up the good work
Mr Ampar thanks for watching and stay safe
Great job
Young man your doing good job god bless and keep you and yours
Mr Gordon Th and thanks for watching our channel. Stay safe

@@SumterWreckerMr. Wilbert is like "what in the world have you gotten me into now" Been binge watching y'all and I have to say y'all are a top notch outfit. No drama no cussing or fussing (even the kids can watch!) just get it done hard work.
Mr Johnny we appreciate that. Thanks for watching our channel and channel
Goin to need to raise some more and put cribs under it , and let down and let the hydraulics push up , and rechain it up , kool nice , love this stuff , I miss it , but I got old now, lolol haha, thanks BigAl California.
Mr Al Yes sir that would have helped get more clearance on the blade. Stay safe
Those old pans have more moves than a whorehouse on Friday night! Pick them up, crib the pan, let it down, chain it up. We had safety blocks to put over the steering rods to keep it from twisting. The load binders were an excellent idea!
I have to admit that is the first time I have seen a pan behind a wrecker. I'm just as glad as you are that those old tires held up for the trip. Getting dead pans on a lowboy sucks.
I spent three years in Sumter with the Air Force and had a house on Cherokee Street. I live in the upstate now above Spartanburg.
Be safe and have fun

Nice tow truck
Liza. and Keith Thanks for watching our channel Stay safe
Certainly wasn't a 39' long Freightliner towing a Volkswagen bus there 😁. But that same truck moved a few of those over it's lifetime. They deemed it cheaper/faster to have him move them rather than spend a fortune on and deal with the hassle of the permits. It wasn't easy for him, though. There are some relatively short but severe grades in that area, and even while being tied into the machine's brakes, he had to go down some hills in the lowest hole he had. The truck had a (massive) two range rear axle, 3 range Brownie (that also drove the winch), and a 15 speed transmission. Pull the ass out of a tornado if he had the traction for it, at 1.2 mph ... a large part of why he could move things with that single truck that sent 3 of the big city outfit's rigs home broken. That rig has been long out to pasture now, I do miss seeing/hearing it.
Diggerop thanks for watching and stay safe
It would have been my luck that I would have found a wasp nest or rattlesnake and if it had been the snake mister welber would probably be hooking it up by his self lol be safe and have a great day
Mr Samuel you are right. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Nice.
Mr Rickoscar thanks for watching and stay safe
If you should get asked to move another one of these scrapers, you should load it onto a Landoll trailer or low-loader. Much easier to transport that way. You made the mistake of hooking the chain around part of the chain-driven paddle blades assembly that scrapes loosened dirt into the back of the scraper, which is the pan part you referred to in the description. An easy enough mistake to make, no biggie. What you were looking at chaining up was actually the steering arm of that scraper. These scrapers are pretty slow and cumbersome beasts, usually if they needed to be doing work with them, a bulldozer would push behind on the rear of the machine to make the whole operation smoother and faster. They are not often seen anymore as they have become obsolete due to newer technology such as excavators, channel diggers, large bladed bulldozers, graders, and suchlike. This ancient relic should probably be cleaned up and donated to a museum. Only thing a scrapper would give you is an honest price on the metal content remaining in it. Waste of a perfectly good museum exhibit, in my opinion.
One other thing: As equipment like this gets older with age, there is more metal fatigue in them. This causes them to wear and tear faster than brand new equipment.
MrDarkvoidlll. Thanks. That was my first time moving one. I think they needed a few parts to repair a running one. Thanks for watching and stay safe
@@DarkVoidIII
You should go check out Jpaydirts channel. They use equipment like this all the time.
I've towed and winched some weird things,,,but that is odd,,,, I'd be underneath lookin to pull driveshaft!!!... LOL!!!...nice job boys!!!
Mr Mark thanks and thanks for watching our channel. Stay safe
There's no drive shaft, the transmission sits at the rear and it has stubs that go out in the planetary.
Mr Michael thanks for that information. I would have been looking also if the mechanic had not told me they would roll. Thanks for watching and stay safe
At timestamp 5:35, Mr. Hal accidentally dropped a cotter pin (?) for the wheel lift. Might I suggest having a magnet for cases as this.
Mr Ed That is good idea. Thanks for watching and stay safe
I seen the Bojangles cup wish we had Bojangles in Arizona
Mr Chris We love our Bojangles. Thanks for watching
When lifting the machine at max highest and the pan is down put some blocks under the pan to lift the pan then chain up so the pan is now up.
Mr Scott Yes sir first time towing one of these. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Cool
Mr Alonso thanks for watching our channel and stay safe
Look, a Cat flower pot! 😉😉
Mr Dp that's funny. Thanks for watching and stay safe
I hope to see it running again in another video

Well how come no. One listening, I’ve been doing this my whole life , there is vary few things i haven’t seen, but tow one of these I have not done yet , kool nice thanks BigAl California.

Mr Thomas thanks for watching and stay safe
I’m about to say I was expecting a water headed copper rattler to come out from the front when you was doing all that brush clearing.
Mr Jason I did to. Thanks for watching and stay safe
The is a picture in my bosses office of a scraper being towed like that but instead of a wrecker it's front end is on the rippers of a big ol road grader it's just bombing it down the road with normal traffic that was back in the 60s when you could get away with shit like that
Adjustable hammer thanks for watching our channel and stay safe
It's a wonder that ya'll didn't get into any wasp or hornets on that pan. Good thing those were honey suckle vines and not wild blackberries. Good job.
Summit 1234 yes sir I agree or a snake. Thanks for watching and stay safe.
@@SumterWrecker thanks, you too
That's a real big Flower Pot you got there.. . . . . . . . .
Hi Scifi. That's funny. Thanks for watching and stay safe
There is a place on the neck to pin the machine in the straight position.
Mr John thanks for that information and thanks for watching. Stay safe
I wonder if you had lifted and blocked under the pan if you couldn't have chained it up higher so you didn't need to lift the front so high? mind you I think you did a great job and I am not criticizing what you did!
Mr. John, I think that may help. We will try it next time. Thanks for viewing and commenting. Stay safe.
@@SumterWrecker thank you for your response I appreciate it!
@Sumter Wrecker would it not have been easier to pin the swivel on the wheel lift than to try and chain the pivot on the machine? I've not been around too many big wreckers, so I don't know. Any way you look at it, that's an impressive recovery.
The junkyarddawg not sure what you mean by pin the swivel but always open to suggestions. Thanks for watching and stay safe
I thought about that too but the 2 issues would be the hydraulics fighting the pivot and the angle of the pivot is on a different plane with the front up that high.

Mr Levon Mechanic said there were no brakes on the rear. Thanks for watching and stay safe
I wished that I could done that, here in delta
Mr Shawn thanks for watching and stay safe
That’s because that’s a self loading scraper now if it was an open bowl scraper it would have 2 engines

Thank you sharing this i have never seen a pan towed before very neat now are you the owner
Mr Jim Thanks. Yes sir I am. Thanks for watching and stay safe.
@@SumterWrecker your welcome i thought maybe so but just had to make sure i love your videos always and you also
The more modern equipment have a safety bar that has a pin on each end to hold it straight, or a pin right at the swivel point on the neck. So it doesn't pinch the mechanics arm off when he unhooks hydraulic lines.
Good job gentlemen.
Mr Peter lanum thanks for the information and thanks for watching. Stay safe
Do you have rotate tor truck
Liza and Keith. We don't have a rotator. Thanks for watching. Stay safe

I paddle my own canoe thanks for watching and stay safe
Scythes are probably not part of the standard equipment of towing companies. ;-)
Mr Steffen That was my first. Thanks for watching. Stay safe
Definitely not something you see everyday. Don’t think many tow companies would want to drive a heavy wrecker out into a pasture to even try to tow something like that
Mr Robert Thanks for watching our channel. Stay safe
It's a scraper not a pan. It's a finishing scraper.
Mr Steve thanks I did not know that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
@@SumterWrecker nice video btw
They still sell this pan Cat has parts .
Mr John That company still has several running. Thanks for watching and stay safe

Dane same some one couldn't fix her back up bet you 1000 bucks it be running buy tha end of the day I'd fix it and sold it before I'd ever scrap the old pan wtf bs you ask me all about that dang money these days
