Escape to the Shire with this mixtape of acoustic music with interludes of score and source music from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film series. As usual, it was recorded onto an actual cassette tape (for that nice fuzzy sound) and then rerecorded digitally.
This is the lofi version of the mix. A high-fidelity version can be found here: • Hobbitcore mixtape (co...

Some of the non-shore recordings sound like they could be from 4 decades ago or more. I haven’t heard of them before myself, can anyone confirm if there’s folk from the 70’s etc here?

Those who disliked this were Sackville-bagginses.
No idea if that's a reference or not but I'm all here for silly words like that :D
Dude holy shit thats beyond funny 🤣
They definitely take off with all the silverware, spoons filling up their pockets
LOL
BRUH YES
Didn’t know hobbitcore existed but I’m 110% here for it
*111% (pronounced eleventy-one)
go watch rachel maksy! she has the aesthetic down
@@warriorcatskid003 I was gonna say
Same here friend now everyone let's get some food, ale and dance 😄

Every time I hear “Concerning Hobbits” I get a weird yearning deep in my chest in a way that I will never truly understand. A nostalgic longing for a world that I will never be able to live in, as well as a longing to return to the past, when the world around me seemed to morph between the Shire and reality with ease, where my daily life was actually part of a larger fantastical world filled with magic. Every time I hear that one song all these complex emotions run through me no matter what I am doing. And somehow, this entire playlist made me feel that throughout. Truly a good video.
I think it’s the pipes, they tend to add a distant, almost mythical element to most tunes, somehow.(not explaining this well)
The word is anemoia :)
Mason, I feel the exact same way. It's truly a deep emotion.
@@thehammer4607 Also agree!
You get that feeling because you came here to help that world be born through you. Magick is all around you and it is in fact quite possible to live a Lotr lifestyle.
I thought cottagecore was kinda fluffy and pointless. This has singlehandely sold me on it. The transitions from lotr to more "modern" stuff feels really natural here.
You should check out the Harry Potter one on this channel too. The songs transition into each other perfectly imo 😊
My mum took me along to a LOTR convention when I was about 6/ 7 (I knew of the stories but only vaguely at that age) One of the most defining moments in my childhood was when Pip and Merry taught me to hobbit dance. Truly magic. This brings back all the memories
How do you hobbit dance??
That's amazing! What a memory!!
IM SORRY BUT THE WAY CONCERNING HOBBITS AND DIAMOND DAY MELTS TOGETHER IS SO AMAZING IT GAVE ME CHILLS
same, I had to cry.
This video is my safe space. I come here anytime I start panicking, close my eyes, and lose myself in an imaginary world full of happy hobbits.
I love how fluid the transition between each song is. When I realized that the background was slowly changing from day to night 🤯
Such a wholesome little mix. Thank you :)
Try running the playback marker along from start to finish of the video. You can watch night fall at any speed, and then it becomes dawn. 😇
The Lord of the Rings and Soldier, Poet, King together is something I didn't know I needed!
IKR!
I want to live inside this soundtrack
a good simple life with good friends good beer and even better food.
Not me tearing up for 45 minutes straight
Same
Just imagine what heaven is like. =)
I'm so glad I'm not the only one.
@@st.michaelthearchangel7774 so I wasn’t the only one? =]
yeah same
Just so all of you know, there’s a genre of music called comfy synth and I’m p sure you would all love it, so look it up. Its a subgenre of dungeon synth (an ambient style of music w medieval fantasy themes and melodies) that’s basically just cottage core as music.
the one person who disliked this video was Saruman actually
I was about to say hahaa
And sauron
LOL!
and his 3 followers
Labilia Sackville Baggins. She also tried to make off wit the silverware.
Oh how I wish this were a spotify playlist. This would be on loop like... Constantly
Hi, it is on Spotify!! I found it on there the other day when I was trying to find similar vibes to this. If you just look up Hobbitcore, I think you'll be able to find it rather quickly. However, the person added a few songs of their own to the playlist. They have two other ones that look pretty good as well! Hope this helps!
Me: Oh, okay, LotR music
*Soldier, Poet, King starts playing*
Me: OH SHIT
Ikr? I love that song!
I love that song too. Always think of Gimli, Legolas, and Aragorn.
I'm sat drawing while listening to this and I looked up and saw the sun was setting, the warm glow of everything and honestly almost cried ;u; the wholesome vibes are immaculate
I’m in one of those “concerning Hobbits makes me tear up” moods ig
That is my everyday mood
As someone who's autistic and deals with so much stress because of struggling with mental health for around a decade, masking my autism for most of my life (I'm 20 years old, for context) and being in severe autistic burnout and who has struggled so much to be taken seriously, I have this intense yearning in my heart for complete peace and serenity and I think that's why cottagecore means so much to me. I don't want much in life other than to be at peace and to fall in love with the little things in life and for my loved ones to be by my side and to be happy and at peace too. I've been recovering from a really bad autistic meltdown that happened the other day and I'm struggling to know how to relax and rest afterwards but I thought I'd listen to the songs in this video and, I'll be honest, I started tearing up. Cottagecore and Lord of the Rings are special interests of mine, I think, and they bring me so much joy and comfort; thank you so much for this video, truly. Even if just for a moment, I felt at peace.
am i the only one who gets over the garden wall vibes from this- love the mix by the way
LoTR music always makes me cry....it's so beautiful..
When you merged concerning hobbits with soldier, poet, king!!!
aaaahhhhhhhhh! it fits so good!!
A star shines upon our meeting friends.
You are drawn to this music and world because some part of you deep inside knows that this is your true world. Dont leave the music and fantasy up on the shelf. Ditch the boring 9-5, pick up a couple of books on magick, and find me by the brook with a flute in your hands. We are all cultivating this reality together.
Lol idk if anyone will ever read this but I came back to this playlist a few months later... reading this comment made me so happy and excited, aaaand then I realized I was the one that wrote it☺🤷♀️
8:41 And the willows rustle in welcome and say “ah! We’ve been waiting for you to return, my friends” ☺️
20 years ago I would’ve listened to this 24/7. Now I’ll have a listen every now and again and think of good days. These are gold and I’m surprised I’ve never heard these songs. Thank you.
Came looking for cooper and found gold
I love Hobbitcore. Some of this music is my mom's favorite songs!❤❤🏵🌸💮🌲🌼
Yessss Gandalf singing The Road Goes Ever On And On
It's very interesting what the tape does to strings, the violin especially. That harsh-y but warm sound, so nostalgia inducing.
The minute I heard the first note of this, I stopped everything and just smiled as a whimsical joy filled me! Great work on this!!!
i really love music like this. it made me feel like i'm in a fairytale
The way Happiness Runs transitioned to Flaming Red Hair- chef’s kiss! 😘👌
After listening to this, I'm going to go plant some seeds and make my own little Hobbit garden! On my balcony. In the city. Still counts right? Anyway this mixtape brings me there! Perfect music choices & thank you for the good work! :)
Totally still counts, as long as it is made with love and honest hard work.
I listen to lotr and elderscrolls music while I garden every day
It absolutely counts, maybe more in some ways. I hope you did!
I’ve been SAYING that this should be a thing
This playlist is the perfect mash-up of Momo O'Brien and Rachel Masky. And I didn't know I needed it so much.
This video is literally unmatched. Thank you so much for taking me out of this world and into a more simple/gentle one 🥰
I just want to say that this is my all-time favorite thing on the internet. Thank you for this.
🥺❤ Thank you, that's so sweet of you to say!
ty sooo much its soo hard to find lofi lotr/hobbit music usually they r all the same song on repeat for 3 hours thank u so much for making this!!!
I love how I recognized the music that played when Frodo woke up and the whole Fellowship came to see him
Seven dislikes, one from gollum because he hates those filthy hobbitses
This is pretty much the most relaxing thing I’ve experienced in a long time. It takes me back to the warmth and beauty and security of childhood. It’s idyllic, like being a child, wrapped in a blanket and loving arms on a cool summer night where there is not a care in the world.
Every morning that breakfast alone I put on this video while I write. I never get tired of this melody, it fills me with joy and inspiration all day! ^^
I'm deadass crying this is one of my favorite videos on youtube
I lived in a cabin in alaska from 2016 to 2021 and it completely changed my perspective on life. Its hard to go back to the city. but if you are reading this, i love you. it will be okay. keep surrounding yourself in things that are simple and beautiful.
My dad and I used to watch all of the lord of the rings films when i was younger and when he wasn't married. This playlist gives me a deep feeling of nostalgia and a little bit of sadness.
This is a perfect soundtrack for getting ready in the morning ^_ ^
man I've listened to this so many times, it's always so nice to study to and chill to. The artwork is so pretty too... I think my favorite thing is The Last Goodbye at 22 minutes, and the sunset that matches perfectly with the guitar - it's so peaceful! Makes me want to be a hobbit even more lol
We had this playlist at our wedding for when guests were coming in. 2 years on and it still brings me joy. Thank you for putting together such a lovely mix x
That's amazing! Thanks for the comment 🥰
This is our weekly cooking/getting cozy sountrack! We absolutely love the vibes, and as a huge LOTR fan myself, I sincerely appreciate you putting this together!
i will never not cry during pippins song
5:20 a smoother transition than butter scraped over too much bread
There will come a poet whose weapon is HIS WORD
It fits the lord of the rings so perfectly! There are so many ways to look at it as well, one being Frodo or Sam or Bilbo or pretty much any other character like them, and another is someone like Sauron in the context of the Silmarillion!
Lol I caught that too. The guy who did the cover mentioned he forgot the line and misspoke on accident, still a great cover tho
This video is what introduced me to Vashti Bunyan a year ago. From listening to her I went on to discover Bridget St John and Jessica Pratt. The three of them are some of my all time favorite artists in the whole world. Their songs take me to another world in my mind. Every time I come back and listen to this full video it fills me with such nostalgia from the first time I listened to it and was entranced. Thank you so much!
I just lay down on grass, look at the sky and listen. Escape from lockdown, escape from reality 🌿
This is my aesthetic. Has been and will be, this also happens to be my music taste.
THAT transition is just perfect (you all know what im talking about)
This One does not know how many times Tarbh have listened to this playlist, but it makes this one feel at peace every time. This one still wish every day to find a world more like that of Hobbits... One day. Many Thanks for this perfect upload!
this has become my official summer soundtrack. the whole playlist brings me such utter comfort, starting from the theme being of hobbits and cottagecore, going to the soundtrack of lotr and the lovely folk songs! it's my third summer of playing this nonstop, i love it so much.
Brings a tear to the eye.
really well made!
Well I didn't know I needed to hear LOTR with the Oh Hellos, but here I am absolutely in love with it!!
You can see how much effort you have putted into this playlist
The songs, atmosphere, transitions and the background everything is perfect 😌
I haven’t felt so relaxed in a looong time, thank you for posting this 🥰 Subscribed
P.S. Damn only rn I realised that I already was listening 3 different playlists from your channel 🤭 I didn’t know it’s the same channel wow
this is so therapeutic to listen to when I feel anxious or when I just need to calm down ...I love this. thankyou thankyou thankyou. ❤️
Ive probably listened to this playlist over 10 times now 😌 it's my favorite for reading outside on my hammock 🌞
Yeesh, I am crying so hard right now. I wasn’t expecting that.
i just wanted to come back to this because this got me through two years of exams which ive done well in, hopefully itll get me through my uni exams just as well ❤
Cottage Core, feels Grand!
Hey thanks for putting this out. Ive been whittling my pipe and motivating myself to build a hobbit shed before I try a house, and while ive been groeing my landscaping thing this has been epic to listen to, even my 1.5 year old loves it. Didnt know this genre existed but I'm happy to have found it
Was anyone else super relaxed til The Last Goodbye and then just suddenly started crying??
this deserves more views, it has a lovely atmosphere that's distinct from many similar "aesthetic" mixes since the songs aren't all overused
This mixtape makes me so happy. And what makes it even better, there's only 3 dislikes as of when I comment this
The fireworks!!!! The setting sun!!! The way the music's flow into each other!! So much detail has gone into this 🥰🍄
There's so many goddamn Shire atmosphere/mixtapes out there on youtube that just reuse the same songs, so I was ready to roll my eyes at yours- but it's really well done :) I love the choice of songs and that you left proper credit to the artist, and that you even took the time to make a tracklist.
AMEN
whoa that transition from the first to the second song :0
Your mixtapes are the best I've seen on youtube! Love every single one
Thank you so much 🤗
I always find myself coming back to this, it's got to be my favorite playlist ever. The transitions are so well done and all the music fits so well!!
Well that was way more soothing than I expected.
Something about the guitar cover of Last Goodbye HIT DIFFERENT
This is quite literally my favorite thing in the world now. 💛
This is the most blessed playlist my ears have had the honor to listen to. Thank you 😭
Dammmmiiiiitttttttt I got the feels as soon as I heard Gandalf humming.
Diamond Day is one of my favorite if not my favorite songs and I just. I love your playlists :)
The best music core playlist I’ve ever seen 🥲💕
This is actually perfect. The choice of tracks, the transitions and as a cherry on top the changing backround. Thank you for letting me live in Hobbiton for a while.
I've literally been looking for a video like this for so long! Thank you so much for this! 🥺💖
I've been studying for my electricity & magnetism final for three days straight and this mix is getting. me. through. thank you

This is absolutely amazing! Instant sub
I identify with hobbits so much, living in your small house, leading a simple life, just chilling.
I missed the premier, so Im sad, but Im dancing and celebrating to it right now so that works
I really needed this today ☺️
This playlist literally comforts my soul! So nostalgic!
Concerning Hobbits really sold the rest of the mix
I will have this on repeat for a very long time. So soothing. So lovely. Thank you, thank you for putting in the effort
