National lampoon's vacation Clark just wipe with dishes cloth and put the dishes in the cabinet.
The best nearly 2hours you could spend in a theater in the Summer of '83. Such fun, fun, FUN movies that year!
No cell phone distractions. No transgender bathroom drama. Hard to believe the simplicity of the early '80s when contrasted to present day. Those days are missed so much it physically hurts.
Then you have high crime and high taxes in the early 80s, derpy derp.
@@Religious_man DAs have been dropping charges and giving lighter punishments to help create the illusion that crime rates are down. I saw police body camera and dash camera footage of a young woman in Florida go on a high speed police chase. She crashed her car and fled on foot. She was given two years probation lol. California essentially legalized shoplifting via Prop 47. Stealing less than $950 worth of merchandise is a misdemeanor. There are many RUclips videos showing people loading their shopping carts or clutching two armfuls of items and walking out of retail establishments. Security have been told to stand-down. One guard working at Walgreens recorded someone stealing. He was fired for removing a piece of paper that was covering the suspects license plate. Some of those places have closed their doors and left the state.
I love the look on Eugene Levy's face when Clark pulls in with his trade in. Priceless 🤣🤣
At least Gary Cole never tolerates any car scamming nonsense even if he fixes all of this.
That’s my look when I realize that test I was supposed to study for was on that very day and not later that week.
they should put that look on a t-shirt
He goes from smiling and laughing to looking horrified. LOL
@@Kevin_H_Usa it could be on some memes.
Does anyone not notice Clark doesn't even wash the dishes when Ellen passes them to him? He just wipes them off and puts them right in the cupboard!
Ew, gross!
😂
Ha ha, i would never have noticed it unless you pointed iit out, i wonder how many has ever seen that, probably not to many.
Just now
hahaha never noticed until now!
Hollywood, please bring back this kind of comedy!
They don’t have the soul for it anymore.
You think you hate it now, wait till you drive it.
Clark drive it and he totally tarnished it.

I love how Eugene Levy's character yells "Davenport!"
I always loved Eugene in movies when I was a kid
He was great in Armed and Dangerous with John Candy.
SCTV was hands down the best comedy show ever thanks in no small part to Eugene
Davenport was a common last name used in movies in the 80s, it was usually someone that was wealthy.
“You didn’t order the metallic pea!?”🤣
He even wore a matching suit for the sport wagon
That always makes me laugh.
"Metallic pea?! I ordered the Antarctic Blue! The sports wagon, this isn't even the right model!"
Fun fact, the a b roll of them driving down the freeway into the city is the opening title to married with children
Thanks for that info!
We used to have a Big Badass 60-70ish model Buick LeSabre that would do that sputtering jazz, after filling it with Pemex fuel in Mexico. Big heavy land yacht. 80s era memories.
Warner Bros studio lot. I forget the street name but I used to be a maintenance guy there. I mowed and painted those houses dozens of times.
Is it true they demolished the Griswold house?
It wouldn't be an 80's comedy without a computer executing some plainly impossible task.
He hasn't even left the lot yet and his trade-in is in the crusher 😂
You noticed that, huh genius?
@@gavinvalentino6002 be nice, some people aren't as quick as you.
He hasn't even sign over the tittle yet......The car hadn't officially "trade-in" yet , he just hand it over for valuation purpose only.
If he is smart enough , he would just file for the lawsuit , take the Volvo sedan in his garage for the trip , and wait 6 weeks for the right car to be delivered.
Its just a movie homie
i remember my father mentioning buying a car and he asked what his trade in was worth and the dealer said he wouldn't charge dad anything for having it towed off the lot.
Eugene Levy is brilliant in this clip.
"Sorry, folks. Parks close. The moose outside should have told you." One of my favorite scenes. 😄
“Vacation” , “Fish Called Wanda” and “Detroit Rock City” BEST MOVIES EVER!!!!!!!
The way Davenport says I don't know sir, shrugs then slowly walks away always cracks me up
Eugene Levy neeeeeeeever got enough credit for playing the best "car salesman" characters in his younger days.
😂 is that Noah levenstein?
@@jrml2011 You know, selling cars is a process that takes years for a young man to grow into a pro and humble salesman.
F levy..always stereotypical foolish character. Always. Somebody in Hollywood must owe him
The 8 headlights would have sold it for me!
I like how right away the car is making noises.
Gosh! Love 80’s movies
What I always found funny is they had a perfectly fine Volvo sedan in the garage... why the new wagon if you're just going to tie the luggage to the roof? 😂Ahh, Clark...
I was thinking “that Volvo has got to be a lot nicer than the Truckster”.
It's probably the wifes car and its only for her personal use.
@@joshr8666Clark traded in the wife’s car, lol
I’m not your ordinary everyday fool 😂
The entire movie is outstanding! Especially Christmas vacation!
In order of greatness, it goes Vacation, Christmas Vacation, European Vacation and then Vegas Vacation. The new Vacation movie was very disappointing - with a mean spirited kid pretty much wrecking the whole thing.
@@OldAussieAds my Aussie brother exactly. I have been to Perth and Freemantle. You guys are awesome!
Where's cousin Eddy.
This is way better than Christmas Vacation.
Such a great movie, brilliantly written and such superb actors. Still miss John Candy, no one could ever replace him. For the Oldsmobile lovers, look closely they did not crush that nice wagon, it’s a different car. 😃
Yeah it wasn’t even the same color!
yeah its called THE JOKE btw
Rick Moranis replaced him in Ghostbusters
Nice catch
Nobody remembers Rusty’s name, or even his own dad.

These are the children he doesn't get to spend enough time with.
Funniest part
Wow, a Vista Cruiser, how lucky was Clark, an Olds 442 in Station Wagon form, my Moms car growing up. She loved that car, because when you stepped on the gas it went!
The 442 came in wagon form?
@@CountryballstudiosYT
Yes, it was the Vista Cruiser, not 4spd of course being a family car.
1968-1972, it was the car. 1969 was the iconic model year, imho.
@@SK-qc6fb never knew that until today
@@CountryballstudiosYT
400 cubic inch engine, if memory serves me right, that was one of the '4' s. 4 on the floor was another, 2 was the dual exhaust, i believe. So the Vista Cruiser would hve been a 4A1! Or 431 for the 3spd automatic!
Chevy Chase is so funny and relaxed in his roles but as a lot of people have reported he is a really - let's say it euphemistic - challenging character...
I think he's just mouthy and too comfortable
Lots of actors prefer to play characters the opposite of their real personality because, in the words of Dabney Coleman, they "know what the opposite is." Coleman is known to play shallow, selfish narcissists, but in real life is anything but.
I never thought he was anywhere near as funny in his other roles, as he was as Clark Griswold.
Fletch was. So was the vastly underappreciated Seems Like Old Times, & Funny Farm.
I like Caddyshack, but am among the minority that thinks it’s nowhere near deserving of the praise it gets.
Last interview I saw him in he looked and sounded like a crotchety old man.
"Say goodbye to the ol' has guzzler, Russ!"
He says see ya later to the driver 😂
Fun fact. Married with Children used overhead footage from this movie in the intro. You can literally see the Wagon Queen Family Truckster on the freeway!
Well, they were both in Chicago.
That look on Levy’s face at 0:06 😂
🎮 Love the Pac man and Astroid references on the computer!! Only a child of the 80s like me would get that!!!
I was born in the 1980's as well due to me being born back in 1981
Well, thankfully, that’s not the case. Since PAC-Man and Asteroids were amongst the best 80s games, their popularity remains and people from multiple generations will still be able to recognize them. Mario was also an 80s game, but its legacy permitted it to be exposed to even the youngest of children.
@@ianchandler4649 yeah... Who are you?? What year were you born cause I guessing it was the early 2000s😂 you're an IDIOT and it shows!! Don't talk to people you don't know and can back up their gaming knowledge!!

One of the funniest movies of all time.
I agree
“With the Vista Cruiser, you can……cruise the vista!” 😁
Vista Cruiser better than that Truckster heap.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought that!!!

When I was in high school we had one exactly like this. I wish I still had it. Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser.
4:15, Hardly washing the dishes 😊
The Truckster is "dieseling" when he shuts it off
When I was a kid our wagon did that! It was a Volvo though.
Probably related to uncle bucks caddy.

Eugeny Levy playing a bad guy. That’s gold!
Eugene Levy played one in Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd. In fact, he was the MAIN antagonist of the movie.

And in Heavy Metal as Captain Sternn.

Palm trees in "Chicago" lol

"Why is it still running?"😂😂😂
That was my first computer, the Apple 2+. I got to show it to my kids. Love this movie.
And back then in the early eighties, the graphics and sound didn't come any better.
Love how they're "washing dishes" by just wiping off the old food and putting the plates in the cabinet
I always caught that while watching this as a kid, too.
I never noticed that weak, dead fish handshake Eugene Levy gives Clark and Russ when they meet. Great detail!
FUN FACT: The color of the car that Clark was originally supposed to get was the same color as the suit he was wearing.
So Clarks suit was Artic Blue?
@@andyhamilton8940seems like an accurate description of the colour tbh
Antarctic blue, there is a subtle difference.
Just noticed the way they "clean" the dishes.
I just came to see if anyone realised 😂
I got the movie 4 years ago and I just noticed now
I bet alot of people never noticed it. I remember seeing an BTS and they talked about it.
@@billyman623 I suspect there is a generational aspect here. Some of us will remember when rinsing and drying with your parents or siblings was a part of household life back when dinner was always eaten together.

I can't believe that Dana Barron (Audrey) was actually 17 when this movie was made. I would've guessed 13, tops...
They made her look a lot younger with hair, clothes, and makeup. These days teenage girls are just the opposite! 13-year-olds dress and look like they’re 23.

If any one is wondering the video game console is a Bally Astrocade and the computer looks like an Apple // plus. The Astrocade is an underappreciated classic. It even has a Basic cartridge for making basic games and programs on the little keypad and can save them to cassette.
I thought it was a Fairchild Channel F until i seen the game box and they showed the front of it. This is one of the few systems I don't own - never seen one out pillaging garage sales. I think I own some games for it though.

Blunko is correct. I was 10 yrs old when this movie came out and fell in love with it because of the Bally Astrocade and the small PacMan. I had both. I still have 2 Bally Astro in their original Box with controllers. The controllers were my favorite of any console.
It takes a lot to outdo Chevy in this era, but Eugene Levy pulls it off.

A moment of silence for the Vista Cruiser! 😢
The early 70s Cutlass Wagon was far superior to any car available new in the neoMalaise era...especially as this is a Chrysler dealer with the cars in the background...all the 80s K Car variants like the Town and Country compact wagon.
