When i went, the theory proved true for all the white people that we asked (my mom and i are native, but our dog is named brody), then we got to this black lady, she didn't have a dog, but her daughter had a dog. Her dog's name was Gucci Mayne. I am NOT kidding. The whole crowd, including the black lady, lost it at that point, for like 5 minutes. It was the best part of the night.

@@4knewt505 My family tend to name dogs after their personalities and Tip-Toe was the first of many dogs for me...I was quite young when we had him. I'll have to ask how the name originated.
One of our black friends named his dog "Sarge". It is a German Shepherd. This friend is a retired police officer. I am white. Before we discovered that I am allergic to dogs as a little kid, we had a German shepherd too. I named her "Laura". I was a Little house book fan. But there you go, I am backing your theory up. Your welcome.

In my house, right now, I have a Great Pyrenees name Mya and a Toy Poodle names Xerxes. The wife wanted the little dog to have a manly name we to anthology and though hey, why not give him the name of a dude who almost conquered the entire known planet in his time. Fun times.
But, generally speaking, he's got a point. Most of the dogs in our neighborhood have names that describe them or how we see them. Michael Jr., is hilarious!!!
Ever noticed how many big dogs have names like Thor, Zeus, Goliath, etc.?
Or the ironic named little dogs. My aunt has a Yorkie named Thor. He weighs 4 pounds.
lol I've been wacky with naming animals recently. Most of the neighborhood stray cats I met I've named them after food (ex. Walnut, Mango, Frappe, Cheese Curl, Cocoa Bean). XD
I know this is a vid about dogs but I never got to name one myself.

Maybe the first clue that our family is more colorful than we look is our dogs over the years: Beastly, Ranger, and Mischief.
I’m Native American and on the Rez the dogs just walk into the yard and just stay, so we had 8 lol. Husky named Girl, a Doberman mix named Shotgun, a mutt named Lobo, two Sheep Dogs named Popeye and Shufa (Native for Little Feather), a Collie named Paizon (Italian for Friend), another red haired mutt named Rusty, and finally a Cocker Spaniel named... Regina. 🐕

It makes me wonder if you have a theory on cat names. How about a theory on other races? I used to work in a vet clinic as a licenced veterinary technician and most of the dogs I saw had human names. I lived close to a rez and I think the names were mixed (human or animal names). There were lots of names too that were Native American, for cats and dogs, which can make it hard to tell if it's a human name or not (ex: one who chases bear). I've never got to have a dog but was around lots if dogs with names like: Cowboy, Maverick, Shadow, Cinch, Dally, and Guido. I name animals by what they look like or how they act. One cat of mine is named Birmingham because that's all he would come to. He also just showed up one day. I have "used" cats. Another is named Nick Furry after the Avenger character Nick Fury. Nick is a black cat with one eye missing.

Better to not ASSume as that makes you look like an A- - when it turns out you're wrong! Lots of dogs get lost- sometimes on purpose when their owners don't want them anymore and don't have the Integrity to find them a good home. And you can be sure a hungry and thirsty dog is very happy to find someone who will be kind to it and take it in.

The theory is true. None of my last three dogs had human names and the first time I found out my white friend had a dog with a human name, it took me months to get used to it

I have a Choc. Lab. whose name is Butt. He will fetch anything you throw, and bring it to you. But when you reach for it, he turns around and puts his butt right in your face. However, I never go anywhere without my Butt and people tend to walk away when I pull out my phone and ask if they want to see a picture of my Butt. I also have a Boxer, but he is kinda different. He's a registered Boxer, but he's tall enough to lay his head on the dining room table. I am 6'1" and do not have to bend over to pet him. We weighs in at 115 lbs. and is white with large fawn spots...and one blue eye. Since he is so different from any Boxer I have ever seen, and he's often mistaken for an American Bulldog, I named him FUBAR. (F**ked Up Beyond All Recognition) By the way, both is parents were normal fawn with white markings, knee high Boxers. Momma weighed 60 and Papa weighed 70. The rest of the litter were also "normal".
BTW, I am white.I also have a horse named Happy..because he has a totally disgusted expression on his face, and another named Willie. At lest that is the way we spell it. It's actually Will He. Will he behave or will he act a fool.

I am white and have had many dogs. I had a pug named Moochie, a Feist named Scout a Terrier mix name Gypsy, two mix breeds named Yogi and Boo boo, a small dog named cookie, and my last one was a Jack Russell named Jill and she was already named before I got her. My parents had Buddy and Lovey. My in laws had a weenie dog named Velcro. My daughter had a can named Ajax. This one couple I know of has a cat named Sparta and had one named Pucky.
My neighbors who are also white named their two dogs Tootsie and Pop.

We're white (Irish blinding white, instantly crispy in 5 minutes of sun white). My Dad's dog is a Chihuahua mix. He named it "Killer" and it pretty much is. Just ask the mail man! Haha!
Yessir! I’m of the melanin deficient variety, but I think it’s weird to use human names on dogs. We’ve got 3. I named our blue healer/setter mix “Waggs” because ... well, that’s what he does. A lot. Like his tail is a force of nature. My wife named our dachshund “Oscar” and our chion “Oliver”. As MJr would say, “She white”. Truth.

I have so many black friends. Basically none of them have dogs. One does, and her two dogs had really white names. But all rhw rest of my friends are scared of animals or they think they are dirty. So i dont know how he was going to pull this bit off. Lol.
