- In this video, we take a look at twins that have played in the NFL and compare them to each other. Based on my research, I have organized them into three different categories.
Category 1- twins that played the same position
Category 2- twins that played slightly different positions (same side of ball)
Category 3- the most different (opposite side of the ball)

Ronde Barber is still one of my favorite players of all time, and the only player I actually have a jersey of that I wear on a consistent basis. Thank you for covering him and Tiki's story.
I did not grow up in the US, and my introduction to the NFL came with Madden back in 2008. I did not know any of the teams, and picked the Bucs because they, in my mind, had the coolest logo. It was only later I found out, that we got 3 randomly chosen games on sundays and I could follow Tampa, with some luck, live. To me, who did not know much about Football at the time, the player that always stood out to me, both live and when I played Madden, was Ronde Barber. To this day, the only only jersey I own, is a Barber number 20

You forgot about the third Barber brother. Shaun. He was a running back for Seattle in the 2000s.

Being a Patriots fan of 22+ years, I may be able to fill you in on the McCourty twins a little bit.
Devin definitely had a better path to success than Jason did. But you missed on a key factor that made D-Mac the player he is today.
When Devin was drafted, both he and his twin brother Jason, were playing the cornerback position. However, in Devin’s first couple of seasons he struggled at CB. He had the speed and size to cover wide receivers but was not shaping up to be the cornerback they thought they had drafted. Bill and the Patriots realized he wasn’t going to reach his full potential at his current position. Devin was antsy, over anticipated routes and quarterbacks, and honestly just couldn’t handle man to man coverage at cornerback. The patriots made the decision to move him to free safety and put him back in center field, so all of those intangibles that made him a below-average cornerback, would actually help him thrive at the free safety position. Devin is a freak athlete, one of if not the fastest player on the field pretty much at all times. So moving him to free safety meant he can read the field, be the ball hawk he is, and with the speed he has, Devin covers the most ground I’ve ever seen from a safety (aside from Ed Reed & Sean Taylor).
The decision to move Devin McCourty from CB to FS was one of the biggest factors that played into his career success. (That would also mean they aren’t in the category of playing same position as well; D-Mac a FS, J-MAC still a CB).

When you said that Ronde was overshadowed I was just thinking that when it comes to the Barbers, Ronde comes to mind first. That might be due to him being on the Bucs and I'm a Saints fan but I just remember him and not Tiki.

As a Ravens fan who was introduced to both through the books (only been watching ball for 12ish years, I'm 20) I always found it weird the world didn't mention them together when I would hear about one but not the other.

Between Tiki and Ronde, I'm surprised neither one of them has made it to the Hall of Fame.
Either way, they're the most famous football players from my current city (Roanoke, VA).
Ronde should definitely be in but Tiki wasn't great enough. I'll admit he is borderline but i think its fairly obvious he's on the wrong side of the borderline. Tiki should have stuck around longer and padded his stats. He retired "in his prime" as a "late bloomer" because he didn't see much time his first few seasons because he always fumbled. He didn't win multiple Super Bowls as a key player like Eli Manning did thats why Eli who is on the wrong side of the border too will probably still get in easy. Look at all the guys ahead of Tiki in all time rushing Ricky Watters (SB Champ), Jamal Lewis (2000 yard rusher), Corey Dillon (SB Champ) and Fred Taylor should all get in ahead of Tiki. Lewis and Dillon are both in top 5 for most yards in a single game too. Those are the RBs that should get in imo while the guys like Tiki and Warrick Dunn not quite.
Ronde barber always makes the HOF finalists but tiki barber was not good

Raleigh McKenzie was a part time teacher at my Elementary school for a couple years. I think he was coaching one of the local HS's near me. He would give me advice on playing football when I was playing in little league. Loved the guy. This was the mid to late 2000s btw.
