Nice oldscool trancy song👍... i have the same AMD CPU and i am also interested in the 14 core M4pro. So it would be cool if you compare theese two. Maybe with that same projekt, even better if u do a test with cubase. 😊👍
Thanks so much for your amazing Videos. I'm wondering how much better the m4 chip that will be in the macbook airs next year will perform to the m3 chip. I use a macbook air 16gb 512 now and don't know if it's worth upgrading when they arrive. Do you think there will be a huge differance?
Hello Bjornar, thanks for your video, i have a question , a project that starts crackling on m3 air , does it start the fans on m3 macbook pro 14? Regards
I posted on one of your videos the other day that I had upgraded from mid-2012 13" MBP to a 2021 16" M1 Pro 32GB MBP... Noticed last night that with 5 channels on Ableton (one of which had Arturia 2600 synth and 2 x Moogerfooger plugins the CPU went to 30%... All other channels had 2 or 3 Ableton effects and 1 Valhalla plugin per channel... WI-FI turned off and no browser windows open... Would that sound right??
I'm thinking about buying the MB Air M3 15" with 24GB of Ram, but I have a doubt about the 4 performance cores of the processor... could it be a limitation? (I use Live 12) Thanks!
Can i say something without coming across as criticism , no one needs a M4 or even an M3 to create a healthy project with all the tracks you need. All we need as producers is to utilize our DAWs in an intelligent way and use its functions , like Freeze or bounce to audio and so on.. I was also in that mind set last year always assuming i need a more powerful computer , No what we need is good judgment .. Hopefully this doesn't come across the wrong way.. Nice track Bjornar 👍
i also don't want to come across like an a**hole, but do you finally mix and master your stuff? ...some effect plugins are very heavy on cpu...also you can't freeze groups, at least not in ableton 11 ...i bought a new computer because i wasn't able to get close to finish a project on my old notebook but still the new pc isn't always good enough when i do very heavy processing ...but maybe it's still a me and workflow problem, your comment really gives me hope that i don't need a silicon PRO
I produce, mix & master in the same project. Not sure if it has any benefits for me to change up that workflow. I know people bounce their tracks and mix/master in other DAWs.
It all depends. I use a 2014 Mac Mini, and a late 2012 MBP for livestreaming music at my church. I'm processing audio live, and since I'm not recording nor working with recorded audio, I need a lot of CPU power. Videos like this have helped me a lot!
Ableton is probably the worst DAW on mac for music production regards to utilizing the cores. Did you check James Zhang's latest video on M1, M2, M3 and M4 comparison, he did?
thank you for this test ...if you find some time, can you please try my mini pc test and tell me how many group instances you could open on the highest buffer size before it starts crackling too much? further in the test scenario i grouped 5 groups together and duplicate them till the sound drops out too much, if you do it like that, it should not take you long download link of the ableton project file is in the description of the video MUSIC PRODUCTION Performance Test - Mini PC #1 - Beelink SER7 - Ryzen 7 7840HS ruclips.net/video/3U4rWhWZ-YA/видео.html
LIKE COMMENT SUBSRIBE!!!!!!! I'd really love to know what the impact is, going from the same number of tracks in a project, but going from say a 4 min track, to a 20 min track and what would happen to resources/performance/headroom as a result. Gr8 Vid as ever BjoKib!! Did you get your Muse sorted yet? Are they swapping it?
Ah, you are thinking more long term projects. And maybe throttling etc. Interesting idea. I will see if I can explore it on the M4. No more news about the Muse, I did contact support about 6 weeks ago, still no answer. Really unprofessional if you ask me. I get that they have issues after the storm, but Inmusic owns moog. Pay some people to help out. I am waiting for the new OS update from Moog before I do anything more about the Muse. If that doesnt fix the problems its going back.
@@bjornark I plan to start doing Berlin School longer tracks and it's hard to work out the impacts of a 15/20 minute track on how a 4P/4E system will respond in a project with the same number of tracks but four times longer in duration. Makes me worry about which Mac Mini I need, and I don't want to spend more than I need too. Hope Moog reply soon, that's really crap they haven't responded yet. Hope firmware drops soon mate.
I will see if I can incorporate some kind of longer test duration in upcoming videos. I hope Moog replies soon as well. Seems strange that they don't, wonder why.
🙌🏾🔥track💯. Love your vids
Thanks :)
I really like chords progression in this track, but you allways got nice chords. Not so obvious and not boring.
Thanks! :)
There goes Bjornar again!!!
He does it AGAIN!
10/10
edit: full video watched!
Haha awesome. Thanks :)
Very Nice! Waiting for the tests with 14c M4 🎉
The track is sounding amazing ON MY M3 14 INCH!
GODDAMN!
Gonna test it on my KH80s later!!!
Let me know how it sounds, especially the low end ;)

Look at tests of the Mac mini M4, and compare it. That might give an indication at least.
@ thanks for the advice!
THANKs
Hey Bjørnar. Does the MBA M3 overheat with medium-heavy projects?
It wont overheat but slow down
Can you do Pro tools too ? Thx ❤
I would love to see a review of the GMKtec K8 Plus Mini PC: Ryzen 8845HS, 32GB RAM - 2TB SSD. It only costs $600 US.
Hello Bjornar, thanks for your video, i have a question , a project that starts crackling on m3 air , does it start the fans on m3 macbook pro 14? Regards
It depends. Hard to say.

I have no experience with those plugins. Are they updated for ARM CPUs?
@@bjornark Yes, all recent plugin's
Hmm.. yeah, maybe they are just CPU hungry plugins. Or perhaps you have some oversampling settings somewhere.
Thanks, have a coffee on me Bjornar ;)
Wow thanks! Much appreciated :)
please tested at maximum buffer size

i have m2, now i see there are folks switching form m2 to m4 like ... they run out of CPU?? :OOO how is that possible

Should i wait for Macbook M4 air. Or go with the Mac Mini base with 24gb🤔
Only you can decide that :)
Can you go trough how to play Diablo 4 on the new m4 and m4 PRO ?
I can check it out with Crossover.
@ that would be great!!
Bjornar is buying these Macs like sweets while i have a 2012 macbook pro sounds like a jet engine with just 4 plug ins😪😪
Credit card is glowing red!
@bjornark was listening to the video till the end is it possible to buy a Mac M3 or M2 with music sales and RUclips streams?
Thanks for supporting! Depends on how much you earn? Or if you get big enough you might get sent items to test/use.
Air m3 or m1 pro, ram 16/512

At the same time it's the best DAW LOL
=(
Logic also behaves the same. It is probably by design.
