Thanks Harry and Fred. Really interesting to see and hear what inspires you. A very good idea and something that has a lot of potential. Perhaps widening the net to visit any creatives, not just photographers. An enjoyable 20 minutes!
Another great video, Harry & Fred! I spotted the ‘Single Dads’ book on the shelf- it features a great portrait of a mutual friend, Ben Brain (Who is also a fantastic photographer) 😊
so glad to have found your channel! Amazing videos. Love how you share the technical side of things and reasons for particular creative choices along with your philosophy of being an artist. Really get a lot out of these videos! You have a wonderful home!
This was excellent! It's really nice getting to know a photographer whose work you've enjoyed for many years, and what went into getting the shot. I know one of your old colleagues from NME/Loaded and have had the same experience in real life, I'd like to see more of this kind of thing on the channel. Maybe get some other artists in to chat podcast-style? I'm really enjoying the channel, cheers F&H!
Thanks a lot! We have some artists/creatives who would definitely be interested in being involved in this format as well as a podcast-style video so keep tuned! Thanks for the kind comment.
Had a quick delve into the subject of the oil painting, Juliana Derry. Born 1835, Normanton On Trent, Nottinghamshire. She married William Kippax Whate, 1859. She died 1869, according to the note after childbirth. This would have been with daughter Eliza Jane Whate, known as Lillie. William remarried the following year. Lillie ended up in Lincolnshire as did sister Charlotte, her brother Joseph in New York, and sister Amelia I think remained in Nottingham. What a shame the descendants did not want to keep the portrait in the family (assuming they didn't run out).
I like it as it shows you as a person as well as a very talented photographer. One question how do you enter coemptions, why how and what would you send? Many thanks
I used to enter competitions but I've become a bit disillusioned as they tend to often be a revenue raising exercise by the organisers. Even the Taylor Wessing which I've been in many times is very expensive to enter but at least it's at the NPG, so a wonderful venue to see your work featured. I would also recommend The World Press Photo. Very tough to get anything in but free to enter...I tend to select an image which has an instant appeal but then, over time seems to reveal more...Good luck!
I feel obliged to mention the cobweb flapping in the breeze above the piano. 😀 If there is a Mrs Borden, she wouldn't appreciate that being on video. 😁
Hi Harry. The picture you took of, Sophie Okondeo, blue top against a grey background with an injured hand. Would make a make a wonderful diptych next to the picture of you, in a blue top against a grey background with an injured leg, we saw saw in this video. Your idea is a good conduit for people to talk about their images or others images they have in their home. Do you remember the series about people and their home decor called 'Signs of the Times' and people and cars, 'A to B, Tales of Modern Motoring' made by Nicholas Barker and Martin Parr. I was reminded of both when I saw the photo you had of Parr's. Laters
I enjoyed it very much. Seeing a person's pictures on their wall is like a window to their soul. As for my walls, I mostly have paintings by George Inness and prints by Albrecht Dürer. Reproductions, not originals.
Your stories about your photo shoots are fantastic. You are a great storyteller and I look forward to each new video that comes out.
Thank you, this means a lot - much appreciated!
Really enjoyable and interesting video. Thanks for letting us look around! Great to see the mix of work on the walls.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed.
I love the Marlboro packet and the match in the Michael Hutchence portrait. 👍
Thank you!
We'll do a video abou that shoot soon. 👍
Fab video. 👍 Lovely format. I would love to see more like it. 🙏
More to come!
Thank you. More to come! 🙂
Great idea. Love the mix of your own shots with other creators.
Thanks so much - Glad you enjoyed!
Probably doesn't reflect well on me including so many of my own pictures!
I enjoyed that. Looking forward to the next episode!
Thanks Kenny!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed. 🙂

Definitely. I think there is an interesting story for this one!
Thanks! 🙂
Fascinating and informative. I totally dig these “what’s on your wall “ type pieces. Look forward to seeing more!
More to come for sure! Thanks for the comment :)

Wow thanks for doing the research, I'm sure @harryborden would be interested. And yes it is such a shame, and for £1 is even more shameful.
That's amazing...thanks for taking the time to do that. I'm quite intrigued...maybe I'll do some Googling myself...🤔
Thanks Harry & Fred, lovely to see something different... all good as usual, oh nice to see the check shirt back in the frame.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
Ha, it's actually a much older 'vintage' shirt!
Upvote from me for the series. Might also consider including other Borden family artists.
Couldn't help but notice that Nic got to keep his hair 😀
😂 He has lost it now!
Frances for sure, but Nick is a bit of an enigma!
Indeed. 🙏
I think that’s quite all right. Keep the series going.
Thank you. We will definitely do another 😁
Brilliant 😍
🙏
Fantastic idea ❤
This was great fun and very encouraging. Thank you.
My son is called Otis - your description of your cat applies to him too! Great video
Wonderful. Thank you.
Thanks for watching. 🙂
What an incredibly fascinating and enjoyable video. More please! Thank you.
Thank you - more to come!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed.

Will get Harry to respond to this one, could make a good video!

@harryborden6077 Thank you, and please keep them coming
Thanks for sharing your personal space. Great dynamic you two have. Was Stuart Pilkington an Architect as well as a photographer?
Thank you! And I am not sure about Stuart!
Quite an awkward one to shoot, hope it isn't too amatuerish! If we do another creative's house we will be much better prepared!
I thought you did a very good job shooting and editing this video. Well done!
It was perfect- organic and real. Loved it. Cheers guys
I feel obliged to mention the cobweb flapping in the breeze above the piano. 😀 If there is a Mrs Borden, she wouldn't appreciate that being on video. 😁
Haha fortunately no Mrs Borden!
@@fredandharryborden haha, I'll get the duster out!
Fun, that. 👍
Loved it!
Thank you! Sorry we cannot make your podcast, I think Harry has explained. We will defo reschedule!
@@fredandharryborden ah! Haven’t heard anything yet but no worries! Happy to reschedule 👍🏻
Ahh I will get on him about it now.. He is on a pretty big job this week which he couldn't turn down
@@fredandharryborden no worries at all!

I love that picture of Sophie - great suggestion! And I haven't seen either of those shows I will check them out! Thanks for the comment :)
Come round! I'll have the kettle on!
Sounds good! Thanks for the comment 😁
We'll get you in the diary ASAP. ;-)
I enjoyed it very much. Seeing a person's pictures on their wall is like a window to their soul. As for my walls, I mostly have paintings by George Inness and prints by Albrecht Dürer. Reproductions, not originals.
Awesome! Did a quick google and love this stuff! For Dürer, I feel like that area of europe has such a signature style
Thanks for the comment!
@@fredandharryborden Thanks. I forgot to say that Harry's collection of images is beautiful, i.e. a window to a beautiful soul.
@@audioupgradesLove Dürer's self portrait. I saw a program about the painting and always found in mesmerising...
& Thank you!
@@harryborden6077 Dürer was enigmatic and let it show in his self-portraits. A very modern artist 500 years ago.
Very impressive
I try to do the same at home except the art outshines my photos 🤣📷👍
